CommanderRed
From 1997-2002, versions of StarFox 2 were leaked online. First was a prototype of a few levels in the game. Second was a scrapped vs mode with 2 unused characters. They were amazing when first leaked, but after while were no big deal, until in 2002...A supposed full rom of the game was released and at the time was thought to be the 100% completed rom. In recent interviews with Dylan Cuthbert we know that, that was not the case. I believe, after playing Starfox 2's 90-95% complete rom that the 100% must have had something to do with the General Pepper Medallions that are scattered around the levels. I think it also was just improvements over the ai and framerates, but I think the biggest gameplay mechanic that was not in the 2002 rom was full use of the General Pepper Medallions. Comment on what you think the 100% had.
Patch93
From what I remember, Dylan said at one point that the random encounters were not working properly in the near-final proto that was leaked in 2002. Also, I'd expect the bosses to be more finalized in a hypothetical release candidate.
Robert Monroe
Random encounters? You mean the dogfighters that are deployed by battleships and stuff that raid on Corneria?
Patch93
I'm not sure, I think he might be referring to the stage layouts, which would make sense if that were the case, because the enemies and missiles themselves seemed to be randomized just fine. In general, I feel the game could use tougher boss fights and wing damage (or how you lose your twin blasters like in SFZ). Given how many ideas in SF64 were taken from SF2, I'd also expect the Pepper medallions to unlock something similar to expert mode.
Robert Monroe
Pepper medallions were just checkpoints right? The boss fights were kinda easy though, especially compared to SF1.
Patch93
No, the high scores screen kept a record of how many medallions you collected, as if they were meant to unlock something:
NickFox
frankly i think thy should release sf2 as an addon to a future star fox game.

That wouldn't be possible really, plus it would be a legal battle in hell. 1. Emulating the Super FX chip is slow, take that into account of emulating the superfx chip 2 on a nintendo handheld or console(PC is kinda okay, but still slightly laggy, but its worse on a system) 2. Argonaut games is now no longer existing. They still own the rights however to the super Fx chip technology.
