caught  the cameos of Katt, and possibly Fay as well.

That random, yet amazingly outstanding, pink fur lady is very unlikely Katt Monroe - her facial features are wrong, and her hair is a different shade of pink. Katt's hair is pure white. Also, Corneria City apparently has a dominantly canine population judging by the random civilians in the short, and since Fay is canine herself, it's not exactly crazy to find someone who would share some attributes.

See that photograph down there? Nothing big, but I thought it was a nice touch!

Now that is a nice "blink and you miss it" easter egg.

I quite enjoyed this little short; I enjoyed the voice acting (Fox in particular was amazing.), and the animation was good too. I do wish it wasn't essentially an animated version of Zero's first mission. But for what it is, it's a fun watch.

My only real gripe is that it makes me wish the studio could do a full-on animated series for Starfox. What we have now is great and all, but I'd like an official spin as well with modern animation.

Watched this short a couple days ago right before checking out Fredryk's animation, and seems like Production IG once again does some pretty great animation work. I really like the style they adopted in this as well, everything looks really unique.

and that thing at the end now makes me feel like buying the game to find out what it was about aaaaaa

Not sure if there's ever gonna be a full series, but I'd definitely check it out if those guys worked again on it.

You have to admire the kind of love and admiration of the Star Fox franchise used to tailor this entire short. From the little references to people like Katt, to the depiction of Corneria's populace, to the assets from games converted into minor objects in the background...

I would've expected this kind of attention to detail from fans, certainly, but never from Nintendo themselves. It's amazing to see the kind of things they can do with the characters and world if their hearts are in it.

On a side note, as unlikely as it'd be, I'd love to see a short about Assault in this style, Seeing the ships and art style from that game merged with this kind of breathtaking animation has always been a fever dream of mine.

That's just lovable Engrish! The way English words are used in weird ways in anime without concern for their correct usage. Or maybe just a mistake.

Or it might just be a pun on the fact that peppy just showed he kept Gen Pepper's hair as a lucky charm ^^;

Pretty sure its Engrish, lol. The anime Bubblegum Crisis for example once spelled "lingerie" as "lanjaray", hue.

Simple translation error. Peppy's name is spelled exactly the way that you would spell the English word "Hair" in Japanese Katakana.

Its not the first time that Anime´s have translation errors, thats why i prefer the english dub over the german one. The german one has a few mistakes...

Especially the scene from Robert Monroe i cant understand what peppy is yelling there in german.
