"These guys are crazy!!" But seriously, that's pretty insane to think some people have gotten that good already!

Bet ya they're the same kind of people who managed over 600 hits on Area 6 in Star Fox 64.

This is very impressive. I've noticed that it may be a better strategy to shoot individual units with uncharged shots, as you can get a HIT+1 for doing so. I'm not entirely sure what causes this, but if someone could figure out how to use and abuse this, it could lead to massive scores, since three HIT+1's are better than one HIT+3.

I'm not the least bit surprised, honestly.  These days people are able to clean house quite quick.  Either they have a lot of time on their hands, or they're just that good and smart.  If the case with Metal Gear is anything to go by, I'm not surprised.  Though, it is interesting to hear that Area 6 has been getting people making a high score of 600 hundred on it.  Even the one time I committed the ultimate gaming sin of using a game shark just to see what would happen in SF64, my score on Area 6 didn't even come close to that(It got the medal, but it was far short of 600).  Must be quite the exploit being taken advantage of if not using a cheating device.  At any rate, I'm not the least bit surprised.  Honestly, I don't know if anything like this can really surprise me anymore.

This guy is CRAZY GOOD at aiming his unguided charge shots. Also, it seems shooting down crashing enemies before they explode completely gets you a +1 hit bonus as well.

To answer your question, SFAlba, what causes that "bug", the charge shot scores +1 for every extra ship it hits alongside the enemy its locked onto. The thing is, if it isn't locked on to anyone, but still scores a kill, it'll still grant you a +1. So killing a single enemy with an unlocked charge shot grants you 1 point for downing the ship and then +1 one more for the hit bonus because that enemy wasn't locked onto. With larger numbers you can get basically double points, as points gained grant you the exact amount you killed ie normally a 4 combo would grant +3, but unlocked it'll get you +4.

The other good use for this is on hard enemies that take several hits. Notice those giant buzzsaws in the ocean at the start of Corneria - by hitting the water with the charge shot, the splash damages them, which registers a +1 hit for free. That's basically free points!

Yeah, thanks, but I already knew this. I think you may have misread my previous post.
