Rin
It's funny, because despite the ending, I was still of the mindset that James was killed before Zero's story; Andross' comment about James staying dead to me was more of a figurative comment. Being a spirit doesn't mean you can't still interact with your environment somehow. And despite the fact that there's now a possible explanation as to how James could have survived, it still sits better with me if James is dead. SF Redd
So I was just looking through the SFZ voice clip files, and have found some cut ones. This one strikes me as quite interesting: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8yz8w8o40yyiikq/389251468.wem.wav?dl=0 It seems like Pepper was going to be in a much worse situation than he was in the final game. Also, it seems like there was a conflict between Fox and Pepper akin to the one in the Itoh comic: https://www.dropbox.com/s/74kwvkncv4m8q8n/553368455.wem.wav?dl=

Or what we see and hear is merely an afterimage of what was once the real James, still around as a lasting impression within the teleportaton matrix (the blue tubes) but a ghost to the uninformed. You can have your out of commission James McCloud and a sci-fi answer all in one! That one cut quote sounds like Pepper was talking to Fox through the wormhole. The static is because of the distance between them. The other one sounds more like something Pepper would say to Andross or Star Wolf. Would Fox really use the teleporter to do something debased and selfish?
Robert Monroe
This is side distraction but lemme just throw it out here: Sector Omega, its the black hole y/n? I am HEAVILY leaning towards yes because 1: it looks like one 2: pretaining to point 1, it requires G DIFFUSORS SET TO MAXIMUM POWER, 3: its code named the "graveyard" like it was in the SNES game. Would Fox really use the teleporter to do something debased and selfish? Or that too! Well, arguably, if Fox wanted to use the teleporter in a way to enact revenge on Andross and Star Wolf (Such as sending all of them to an inescapable place, or someplace very inhabitable.), he'd be selfish and stooping to their level. But that's a very specific technicality. As much as I wish Star Fox had deep characters, it's a basic story that wouldn't explore something like that. It was most likely addressed to Andross. Animal Pilot
I honestly don't think Pepper has too many qualms with sending enemy combatants into other dimensions. Yes, you could argue that doing so with Andross was a last resort after trying to reason with him to stop building the superweapon, but at this point the Lylat Wars have been going on for 5 long years with heavy causalities. If Pepper actually controlled the teleporters and thought he could end the war tomorrow by sending Andross' main fleet into oblivion, I think as a military man looking to protect his people he would gladly do it. Assuming that no civilians would be harmed.
