THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION OF ALL TIME

I went down to Nashville(I'm from Cleveland) and I was shocked and offended when they did not call it by it's natural name. THEY CALLED IT COLA AND IT'S CALLED POP.
That's why I want to know, what do you call it where you are from. Do you call it
Pop, Soda, Cola, or something else?

It's more of a dialect thing, I suppose. Even in the States, many people have certain ways of saying things.

Although I say Soda myself, it's not too hard to distinguish each saying of it. I may be inaccurate, but many people in that region say Cola sometimes? I wouldn't know.

Everyone in my region of the U.S love to call it Pop.

I however refer to it as Soda. It sounds better to me then pop does.

Though I've referred to it as all three of those before. I've heard people say "Soda Pop" too.

Washington State here; I call it soda but it seems to be roughly a 75/25 split between soda and pop respectively where I live.

We just call it juice.

Sometimes people call it fizzy juice, but it depends on the context.

Soda. Just embrace it.

Also, "Cola" refers to a certain type of soda, or pop, or juice, or whatever it's called. Cola is the generic brown sugary drink. Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, etc are all colas.

The fruit flavored stuff and other drinks such as cream soda are a different type of soda, pop, juice, whatever it's called.

"Cola" is actually a specific flavor of soft drink based around the flavor of the Kola Nut, though most colas these days create a facsimile of that flavor using other ingredients.

Dr. Pepper is not a cola. It's its own flavor.

Generically here we usually say "soda," though I have heard people say "soda water," which is what "soda" is short for. This is actually technically incorrect, as soda water is merely carbonated water, though it is an ingredient in most soft drinks today.

Where I am from, I have never heard Soda before. We call it Pop, nothing else. I'm from Cleveland and I have never heard anything else other than Pop. It's weird to hear anything else though.

I'm from Toledo and I say soda. Cleveland isn't far from there. When I moved to Detroit it was like 50/50 split between soda and pop.

100% "soda" here in backwards-town Roanoke-ville and I will physically harm anyone I hear audibly speak "pop" rather than "soda"- because pop is what you call your grandad, or in a pinch- your own dad
