Genesis or SNES?

  1. 1. Do you prefer the Super Nintendo Entertainment System or the Sega Genesis(Mega Drive)?

I was hanging out with my best friend, and blasphemy was spoken. I was alarmed and I quickly took out my crucifix and told the evil spirits to vanish. I then noticed that it was too late, and that the spirits have taken my friend. He told me

"I think the SNES is better than the Genesis." *GASP*

So besides giving the specs of the hardware, because hardware does not make a game good, explain which is your favorite console. Sega Genesis, or the Super Nintendo Entertainment System?

I had a Genesis. Looking back, it had the tech advantage but the SNES had the games and better controller.

I just chose the Gen because I was a Sonic fan over a Mario one.

Well, I've never owned a Genesis, but:

Enough said. ;)

SNES has Star Fox; Genesis does not. That's all the SNES needs for me.

I think the system with more bootlegs will answer this, if someone can find bootleg sega systems that is.

Clearly the Gamechild is the best system.

I also had a Genesis. And pretty much all the Sonic games that came out. I remember getting Sonic 2 for Xmas one year. Still have that copy, to this day.

Super Nintendo because childhood.

Genesis was cool too though, but I hadn't known of the better titles at the time aside from the Sonic games like Contra: Hard Corps, Gunstar Heroes, Strider, etc...

I was on Sega's side during the console wars of the 1990's. I don't really know why, it's just I remember having a MegaDrive when I was a teeny itty bitty boy, and I used to play Sonic 2 and Super Hang-On on it all the time.

Chrono Trigger

Super Mario World

Starfox

Super Empire Strikes Back

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

(I could keep going)

Snes, hands down. No Contest.

The Genesis was my first console.  Streets of Rage, Sonic 2, and Revenge of Shinobi did an excellent job occupying my time.

I had the Mega drive. I went to friend's houses that had the Super Nintendo. I loved Sonic the Hedgehog, because it was the fastest game I had ever played at that point. I played a lot of Starwing at friend's house, to the point where my friend was going on a holiday, and so he let me borrow his snes and I spent days playing Starwing. Very fun time, however when emulation was a thing back in 2003 or so, I was surprised how fast games ran. Here the games are slightly slower, but it's very noticeable. I was shocked to find out that's not how the games played back in America and Japan.
I have to pick the Megadrive/genesis, my reason being is I spent more time on it.

Think about what you're doing, you're posting this on a Nintendo-related forum.

That being said, why no option for both? :V

There must only be one?
