Star Fox Title Game

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! Been a while since I've been on. I decided with my random return I'd kick off with a fun little game.

Anyone ever seen or heard this dumb joke?

"Star Fox 64? They made 63 games before that?"

Obviously most aren't serious but lets be fun and dumb and play along! This is the Star Fox name game! In this thread each participant will make a name for a Star Fox game, the number game you get depends on the person who posted before you. I.e the last person was 23, so you get to name Star Fox 24. So bascially, the point of this game is to make names for 61+ star fox games. Star Fox 1 and 2 will not be included, nor 64 since they already are made and don't have names or in 64's case, Lylat Wars. Our objective is to make a name for Star Fox 3-63 (and so on if we wish to continue passed 64). These titles can be fun, hilarious, etc. Just make sure to follow the forum rules. You can also add other things like what system it was on or other descriptions, if it was cancelled why? etc. Let the games begin! I shall start.

Star Fox 3: Super Slippy World

Description: An unknown sequel to Super Mario world, originally made for the Phillips CD-I. Nintendo realized, oh god their gonna try to ruin another franchise, and took and burned all the CD-Is before it could be finished.

Next person name Star Fox 4, and so on. Let's see what you all got.

Starfox 5: Startires

Description: After Team Star Fox disbanded before Command, Slippy, unbeknownst to his former colleagues and friends, took a job as a trucker on Fortuna to transport tree-trunks for export. According to the advertisement, he would have to fight against dirt, deep mud holes and raging rivers, trying to prevent his vehicles from getting stuck and tipping over. It also featured an engaging storyline starring Andross' remnants, who wanted to steal the tree-trunks to build an enormous bioweapon that could naturally grow and shoot deadly telefonmasts. But the real star was the incredible physics engine, that moulded the terrain as your vehicle drove through it and was in fact the most advertised feature.
It won many prizes from magazines and journalists, who praised the physics, fancy graphics, thrilling plot, great and memorable characters, especially going in-depth into Slippy's life and personality - even getting its place in the official Star Fox-Canon!

And let us not forget the secret bonus level after defeating the final boss: A duel against Team Star Wolf, who decided to earn money through civil jobs and have to compete with Slippy in a race for deliveries.

Too bad none of the vehicles had tires and instead hovered over the ground, so you could never experience the physics and the proclaimed hard difficulty was actually laughable. Soon after release, the developers received masses of lawsuits from the consumer protection for heavily advertising a practically non-existent feature, thus cheating the customers.

All games were quickly removed from the stores, the company offered refunds to the buyers and all information regarding the product were deleted or censored to prevent reputational damage. Although official statements from Nintendo claimed that the game never existed in the first place, rumour has it that some individuals still own one of those mystical copies and enjoy the game's many other qualities, like the incredibly vivid and interesting characterization of Slippy, until today...

Star Fox 11: Lylat Thunder

Nintendo's first attempt at creating a MMO, based of Lylat Wars, letting players fight epic battles on the ground, in the air and at sea at the same time, as long as the planet supported this. There were two teams, consisting of Cornerian and Venomian forces with their own tech trees with vehicles, the players had to grind up through the tiers from 1 to 10. The netcodes were great for its time, the FPS stable and the graphics low enough that even old PC's with Windows 98 and Voodoo-cards could run it, it showed impressively what was possible in the future.
If it weren't for the horrible balancing.

While it featured vehicles from the Star Fox- (Arwing, Landmaster, Blue Marine) and Star Wolf-team (Wolfen I & II), they were also blatantly overpowered to please its fans and to keep it with their depictions in Lylat Wars: Nearly unstoppable killing machines, that were also hard to damage. Despite limiting them to one unit for each team, they still shredded everything that got in their way, effectively rendering all other machines pointless and resulting in countless rage-threads on the forums. But that also prompted a lot of "git gud"-threads from the other side with arguments like "It needs teamwork to take them down" - which was futile, because teamwork didn't exist in random matches. The developers then tried to cater to the critics by nerfing them, only to be met with a shitstorm from their players, who thought that it wouldn't give the vehicles the necessary authenticity. Since the arguments devolved into flame wars that would never end, the higher-ups decided for the most logical step:
Removing the Star Fox/Wolf-vehicles.

The forums crashed.

Not knowing how to deal with it properly, Nintendo pulled the plug in a moment of panic and quickly sold the game to a small studio named Gaijin on condition to remove all Star Fox-related content.

And that's how War Thunder was created.

Star Fox 14: Rabid Assault

Deep in the Lylat System an unknown planet held a horrible disease. Cornerian Intelligence brought some of it back only to bring it back to Corneria. General Pepper calls the Star Fox team to Corneria only to discover upon landing the planet has been infected with rabies! As Fox, you and the team must ban together to find a cure and stop the madness in this Walking Dead style video game. With new features including "save your team mate from being bitten and if you don't prepare to finish them" and special guest star Andrew Lincoln from the Walking Dead, who in the group continues to just make things worse for the player. Prepare to survive in Nintendo's newest survival horror game and defend yourself to survive the rabies!

Rated E for everyone.

The game received generally negative reviews. Critics did praise the ability to shoot Slippy with a gun, but kept saying Lincoln's character just kept getting them into the same trouble over and over again. IGN also stated the graphics were dull and felt "We were being attacked by denied Crest toothpaste users". Nintendo then released version 1.1 which only made it worse. Adding a DLC where you can use an arwing but for some reason no one ever uses it because no player has yet to beat the game without killing Slippy who is the only one who can fix it.

"New star fox game review This video was removed" -youtube  "7/10 too much water" -IGN "No black voice actors - Nintendo racist?" -Kotaku
