Burnout Paradise - Burning up the streets in sunshine

MMMM!

While it's a pretty old game and racing games doesn't seem to be that popular here, I still decided to give it a shot, since it's a perfectly fine (Online-)racing game with running servers and the probably best multiplayer in a racing game I have ever seen. Especially for those, who don't really enjoy competitive matches.

So, if you are trying to complete challenges with a trusty team, just want to hang out on the beach or airfield making Peppy proud all day or decide to burn some rubber in races (Even such trollish ones, like all Hunter Cavalry or Hunter Olympus for few rounds around the map) in sunshine with a chance of flying wrecks - meet up here.

And if you are completely new to this game, you can win some beautiful Disc One-Nukes, that you can also use in singleplayer, by completing sets of challenges. :)

An own server is not needed, but the "only" problem is the missing ingame-chat and that you can't open a group chat on steam.

My preferred platform is PC, but I can also offer the 360.

Burners are always welcome!

I played a little bit of it, didn't really get too far.

Give it a shot, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. :)

Let the boost and Road Rage flow into you...

The game costs 20 bucks on Steam as of this writing. I mean, it's an idea but it also depends quite a bit on how many folks can and are willing to get the game if they don't already have it. Though I could kinda see this working, more folks like driving games than I realized.

In-game chat and whatnot is lessened thanks to Discord. Just have folks go on the voice channel or use the #gaming_nerds text channel. If folks want the Steam Overlay, you actually can open a group chat on Steam.

This game never came out in Japan, which explains why I never heard of this game, anyway.

But even if it did, it's Windows-only from what I can see, so the second reason I can't play it...

Would WINE work in your case?

And this is why I had you create the Gaming nights text channel lol.

Well, I'm not a Discord moderator/admin/whatever.

And as for Wine, it might work, I only need to find a way around Steam here, I think.

I know, I was referring to @Fedora on the second part.

If we're going to do challenges, please don't pick me as the host.

Because sadly, over time, I lost my sanity and turned into an impatient jerk, who kicks everyone, who:

-Trolls
-Can't read map/challenge texts
-Aimlessly drives around, without any incentive to cooperate
-Takes half an hour to complete his part (If ever), while everyone else is done after 5 minutes

I really tried to give everyone a chance, but all those horrible experiences took their toll on me. :(

I would be the one to aimlessy drive around simply because I don't know the map

We actually used to play this ~3-4 years ago; it's super super good online. If I'm remembering correctly, it was me, Icy, maybe Orange, and a few others. Can't quite remember though. I'd be down to have some Burnout gamenights though!

Find a time and date that works for everyone and let's do it.
