No...j-just no...no. No no no no...no...

What saddens me is that you played the other games and used the term 'excited' for this one...

It's times like these I wish there was a dislike button.

I never played any Bubsy game (I've seen a couple of reviews of these games but that's all), but I really don't see anything that could get me excited in this trailer: it looks like a generic amateur game made in a couple of weeks.

And wasn't the speed one of the key aspect of the original 2D games?

What could possibly go wrong?

I don't understand.

There are popular game series' that have fallen by the wayside for way too long before getting a new entry.

There are game series' that were between okay-ish to terrible for most people, but that still maintained a small but loyal and vocal fanbase who eventually convinced the company to make a new one.

But Bubsy... There is NO fanbase that I can find. No forums, no fansites, no Steam groups, none of that. At least none that existed before this new game was announced, anyways. The phrase "The [thing] NOBODY asked for." gets tossed around a lot, but for the life of me I honestly can't figure out who out there said "you know, they need to make a new Bubsy game!"

Reading deeper, Accolade, the game developer that originally developed the Bubsy series, was acquired in the year 2000 by Infogrames, the same company that owns the Atari brand. I was wondering if Infogrames was stepping up to wring out all the old brand names it had for cash with the Ataribox thing and Bubsy, but it turns out the Accolade brand was bought just last month by a company in Hong Kong called Billionsoft.

So, did some really rich guy in Hong Kong who was a fan of Bubsy buy the rights because he wanted a new game? Or is there some underground Bubsy fanbase that I'm unaware of? Was the buyout connected, or just a coincidence?

I'm going to stop digging down this rabbit hole before I go mad.

Didn't have a video though, did ya Quad?

Either way, yeah. I'm more than a bit baffled myself. "The game nobody asked for" is quite apt though it does look like it has some polish. Seems kinda slow but that was actually one of the issues with the SNES game when it came out. I actually rather enjoyed the SNES game since I played it as a kid. I dunno, I guess when you grow up with the ins and outs, the game seems less unfair, like if you just know to glide you can negate the fall damage. I wonder what'd happen if I revisited the game....

....Oh. And a-no, I'm not thinking about getting the new one when it's out but I'm definitely gonna check out the press or lack thereof it gets.

I figured, just playing with you.

Jontron's review says all and generally to consensus of the public.

I'm legitimately interested in checking this game out; the Twitter page has been pretty entertaining and I've never played a Bubsy game before.

I haven't played it but from the reviews I've seen so far, it's a pretty bland and really short platformer that is way overpriced.
