Ermac

Ermac orginally started as a glitch character in the first Mortal Kombat video game released in 1992. He was discovered by one of the creators of the game. The mystery character was actually Scorpion, but his yellow color palette was swapped with a vibrant red color. He would also with the name ERMAC in the lifebar instead of Scorpion. The name was generated as a result of something called Error macro, so the ninja was called that for short. Since he was reported, many gamers began to search for the character anyway they could. However, not even hacking the game would reveal the red-clad ninja. ERMACS was listed in Game Test below REPTILE Battles, but it was removed after the T-Unit release. Ermac would appear as an official, unlockable character in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, whose creation was the result of many warrior souls fused together. Orginally evil, he is freed by Kenshi in the prolouge of Mortal Kombat:Deception. Ermac's return was possible by many of the fans who were eager to have him officially debut, and so became a fan favorite.

Ashura the Hedgehog

Ashura was a glitch character who appeared in the second game of the first Sonic the Hedgehog series. In most ways, Ashura was a color palette swap of Sonic, appearing as a green hedgehog (sometimes appearing with streaks of black). So mainly, the glitch was pretty much a change of the game's mascot, as to MK's Scorpion being recolored. However, unlike Ermac, Ashura has yet to appeared in any of the latter games, but also unlike Ermac, Ashura was actually very simple to reach. He could be playble by transforming Sonic into an item, and then into a Ring and back, making the Blue Blur green. (I'm not sure, but the black streaks are probably a rare bonus but also maybe a glitch as well) Ashura does have fans though, (least to say, there are some of them here) and name themselves after him. Hopefully, if Yuji did what Ed Boon did, he could make an appearance in probably Shadow the Hedgehog.

MISSINGNO.

Somtimes referred to as M' Block, it is a glitchy Pokemon that makes random appearances, due to a bug. MISSINGNO. has three looks: 1). It seems to be a bunch of mismatched pixels that form a backwards L. 2). It is a Ghost that would appear before getting the Silph Scope. When MISSINGNO. does battle, it only has 2 Water Gun attacks and a Sky Attack. Capturing this Pokemon also brings the notorius possible effect of corrupting save game data, such as the Hall of Fame. MISSNGNO.'s deformity effect is also carried on to Trainers after appearing as well. The question is: what is this Pokemon's gender? Many would claim by its appearance that it is asexual (it). But, MISSINGNO. can evovle into a Kangaskhan, and since they all Kangaskhan are known to be female, that donates that MISSINGNO. is, in fact, a girl. "She" would appear in versions Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, and Silver. She also appears in Pokemon Stadium as well, if not evoled into her proper state, but appears as a small Rhydon with a purple palette color. MISSINGNO.'s number is 000#.

When I had my Red version, I had like, 3 or 4 MISSINGNOs and nothing drastic happened. Sure, tha hall of fame was FUBAR'd, but who cares? They were freaking level 100!

And there was another way to get them. Here's how, and it's guaranteed!

In Red or Blue version, talk to the man in Viridian City about catching pokemon. Let him show you, them fly to Cinnabar Island. Surf along the right side of the island, on the VERY EDGE, and you should run into one.

Sometimes you won't run into MISSINGNO, though. YOU'LL RUN INTO SOME FREAKING LEVEL 179 WARTORTLE!!!!! AND THEY'RE LIKE, ALL OVER THE PLACE THERE, TOO!

Try catching one, it helps if you cheated to get infinite Master Balls within the game though. Otherwise the thing just KILLS you.

Fun thing is, when you get one, give it Rare Candies (if you cheated within the game to get infinite items) until it gets to Level 250. It'll evolve into Blastoise somewhere along the line and you'll have an absolutely UNSTOPPABLE Blastoise.

I don't even HAVE my Red version anymore, nor do I play Pokemon anymore. But I remember that little cheat!

I was afraid to catch Missingono so I made my brother do it on his game. It really screwed his game up so he had to start over. (it didn't really matter because he sucked anyway)

Original characters that have a glitch on them.

Ex.:Scorpion's color was yellow, but due to glitch, his color changes to red.

Glitch characters get their names from fans. Ermac and Missingno. are the only ones who get their name generated by the game.

heres one I found yesterday, in Prince of Persia Warrior Within, if you go to the past for the first time following Shadee, then you save and quit, yest quit the game, when you return playing the game you play as a Sand Wraith, which your not supposed to until half way finished to the game, everywhere you go is like when you just became the Sand Wraith and it just messes up the game, so meaning that you need to erase the file and start over

About MISSINGNO. I know how to get iit because I have this pokemon. Okay first you go where you are taught how to catch a pokemon. Then u talk to that guy. Next (i think this is right) u fly to the cinnabar island gym. Last u swim along the right coast for a VERY long time, but before i saw it the screen flashed and i ran into a bird type, and a pokemon u see on land strange I hoped this helps.

I remeber Missingno, the missing number pokemon, geez that was a LONG time ago. Plus it dramatically the item in the 7th spot, so I filled it with the one thing that made your guys go up a level, it rocked.

I found a new glitch character the name is dark link. Yes i know it sounds bogus but when you do crooked cartiridge trick with Zelda 64 then rip it out throw it soak it in water and put it back in you get all the gameshark codes that was on the game into the real game but the golden contact points on the left were all lined wrong and not only did i screw zelda up but the n64 wasn't working on any game. So DON'T TRY THIS TRICK UNLESS YOU WANT A NEW N64. :P

Dark Link isn't a glitch character, but he can be messed around with. I've been studying how he works, and I've found a way to make the battle easier or interesting

Use the following methods:

1.)Equip the Iron Boots when he notices you. You'll notice that with the Iron Boots, Dark Link's speed has also been decreased, so both are you are moving at the same pace. Next

2.)Next, pull out either your Deku Nuts or your Hookshot. You'll notice that with the Iron Boots, Dark Link's speed has also been decreased, so both are you are moving at the same pace.

3.)Continuously shot him with your Hookshot or Deku Nuts, eventually, he will turn blue, meaning he is stunned. Now, you can do 3 things:

1.)Attack him

2.)Leave him be

3.)Jump Attack without hitting him

If you attack him, nothing will happen. If you don't, Dark Link will no longer focus his sights on you, and stand in place like you usually would. He even does the actions when waiting around, too. At this point, he's harmless until he becomes completely black, in which he will attack. If you use the Jump Attack without hitting him, you'll hear a click. Now, when Dark Link comes out of the stun, you'll notice how odd he holds his sword and shield. Now, he'll be standing like he's unarmed, and will just follow you around, and will not attack you, even when he's completely black. Instead of attacking, he will simply fidget, as if to attack. Unfortunately, he doesn't know how to take out his sword and shield, though he can still guard like you can.

Note:If your health is low, and his is unarmed without focusing himself on you, he will do the exact same thing:get tired, regardless of his health.
