LinkyHYC
Ow, come on, Rogue One wasn't bad by all means, and Iron Sky was more of a "parodic over-the-top" movie than anything else, even if it tends to drag on for a little bit too long.

Rouge One was the best prequel, but it didn't make best starwars film...or even a good starwars film. It did have Donnie Yen though, but other than it was a shot and reshot mess with that should have been cared for alot better than it was. The pacing was off and characters were not well written, they might as well have been cardboard cutouts because their personalities were two dimensional and were forcably three dimensional when the plot called for it. Mise
Lost in Space was pretty bland from what I remember of it. Didnt think Rogue One was that bad though, sans the face modeling they did for Tarkin/Leia. That just didnt look right. I'll throw in 47 Ronin from a few years back. A literal waste of 2 hours, with bad/wooden acting and basically failing to live up to any semblance of potential it might have had.

Shmibli7
I've got one. White House Down. The only movie I have ever walked out on before the credits rolled. It includes the most annoying set of protagonists I have ever seen, including a schoolgirl with a video camera who decides she'll document the terrorist attack on the White House... By standing in full view of the terrorists and filming. Not once does she recieve any sort of injury due to this nor do any of the terrorists get clued into the camera she's holding. Jamie Foxx plays the worst movie president of all time and utters the immortal line "Get off my Jordans!" When a terrorist grabs his leg before emptying an entire magazine out of a submachine gun into his face. Channing Tatum is Channing Tatum and therefore is horrible. The movie also tries to sneak a political message into it and fails miserably with the subtlety. The message is: Right wingers are dumb, violent brutes who can only exercise critical thought when it comes to killing. There is literally a point where they call one of them a "right wing nutcase" who "threatened to blow up his post office because they employed too many African Americans." The action is what you'd expect, i.e: GUUUNNNSSSS, EXPLOOOOSSSSIIOOONNNSSS!!!!! Also, they make a horrible joke about tunnels beneath the White House made to sneak in Marylin Monroe... It's weird. White House Down is just as bad as Olympus Has Fallen and just as corny in the patriotism department. And North Koreans capturing the white house...hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! If you're going to talk about "awful, terrible, horrible movies" why would you use Rogue One as the shining example of bad Star Wars films? Episode 2 was the worst of them all, why isn't that up there? Even Episode 1 was a redeemable movie(Sort of), but Episode 2 had absolutely nothing going for it. If you were going to watch the series with someone who had never seen Star Wars before, you could just easily say "They get a clone army between Episode 1 and Episode 2 so they can fight the droid army" and skip Episode 2, and they'd have lost nothing, because the only thing of merit in that movie was the clone army. Rogue One has the luxury of not needing to explain anything because you could easily do without the movie. I agree that some of the characters were pretty flat, but so were the characters in Star Fox Adventures, and people still love that game unironically. I'm not saying it was the greatest Star Wars film ever, but give it more credit than "This movie was awful terrible and horrible"

Didn't think it needed explaining. Rouge One was (and I believe this) the Magnificent Seven in space with the only difference being the Death Star plans instead of a village of frightened people and everyone practically dying at the end. Also (and like the prequels) was a sorry that didn't need to be told. How they got the death star plans was not as important as them being delivered, just as we didn't need to know Darth Vader's backstory when all we needed we what Obi-wan said, "Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force." And so, I don't hold much hope for the Han Solo movie coming out directed by Ron Howard. Idk it's just me.

I don't think you've seen The Magnificent Seven. TMS was an adaptation of Seven Samurai and follows its story very tightly. It's about thieves raiding farmers crops, so the farmers hire protectors to drive the thieves away. It has nothing to do with an insurrection invading a base on a suicide mission to bring hope to an otherwise hopeless cause. So when you say "except for the death star plans and everyone dying," you're saying "It's exactly like this movie except for the major plot points." I think that the statement that the story didn't need to be said is overly pedantic. None of the story -needs- to be said, but every story told in between the lines is exactly what they said at the beginning of the movie, just a story. What is the criteria for a story not needing to be told anyway? I welcome any attempts to explain what happens between point A and point B.

Fookes
I know that there are way worse movies out there, but I had to endure watching this at the theater because my friend wanted to see it with me. The jokes made me cringe, the plot was boring and unoriginal, and there wasn't really anything all that memorable to me. I still had a good time being with my friend though.
