TakeWalker
I detest tabbed browsing. Other than that, I see no reason why FF is better than IE.

Mr. Krystal
Descriptions of Current Browsers Internet Explorer (6 and 7): Basic web browsing functionality. No standards are complete supported. Firefox: More secure than IE and has almost unlimited extensibility though hundreds of plug-ins. Open Source. Supports most standards. Opera: Litterally hundreds of advanced features, which may make it confusing if you don't know what to turn off. Very good renderer that supports nearly all standards. Safari: Very small, light browsers that supports ALL standards, but only has the most wanted features. World's first browser to be Acid 2 compatible. Apple only. Netscape: Dead. Supports nothing of note. Internet Explorer 5 for Mac: Dead. It's a nightmare to program for, because it acts very differently than any other browser. AOL and MSN browsers aren't actually browsers, but interfaces on top of Internet Explorer. I love Safari, because it's fast, simple, and has the best rendering in the world. Conall Drest
I hate IE cause its a piece of shÃt and I hate firefox cause it lagged when I tried to save even a 200 KB jpeg image. So I use Opera ^^
Taco-Man
I like Firefox more. Too bad when I download videos using an extension, I can't separate the frames so that I can make little .gifs of them (if I wanted a ten minute video, I cannot separate ten seconds in the middle of it). Seems more secure to me. Although, Opera is the fastest, and Firefox is the slowest out of Opera, Firefox, and IE6/7. Proven fact. Although, I have no idea about the newer Firefox, since I don't have it. IE is ok, but I don't like the new IE much.
TakeWalker
I actually have Opera as a backup browser (I use it for searching song lyrics, since it has built-in Google stuff and cookie blocking). I don't get all these things people say about Firefox, though. What plugins? Who cares if it's open source? What's more secure about it? No one's hacked my computer through my browser yet, and I'm sure if they could do it through IE, they could figure out how to hack Firefox as well. Firefox Extentions: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/recommended/ People who use Firefox and other types of browsers are the kind of people who tend to care if it's open source. Open source software is important because: 1. They encourage standards and standards adoption. 2. They allow anyone with half an interest to help make it better. 3. Prevent vender lock-in. 4. Provide free alternatives. 5. Provide training grounds for new programmers. 6. Follows the will of the people using it, rather than the producer's will. Probably not the best or complete list, but what is off the top of my head. Firefox is more secure because it doesn't have ActiveX controls. It blocks pop-ups. It has better phishing protection. I has a better designed rendering engine, which therefore has fewer holes into which viruses and hacks can get into. Etc. People have hacked Firefox. It's not a question of which browser is unhackable. Given enough time and effort every peice of software in existance that is more complex than "hello world" programs can be hacked. The question is which is more secure. Firefox only looses security comparisons with Microsoft commissions the studies.

Conall Drest
Blah tried it dont work. I am beginning to think people like firefox cause its a starfox site and cause it has the word fox in it is why people like it. Almost every furry I know uses it and I think its just cause its got a fox in it. I even saw furry pics of the firefox mascot as a anime character and whatnot. However I detest IE and back in the old IE netscape war I used netscape. Netscape is dead now though cause Bill Gates cheated with his IE and Microsoft monopoly. Steve
I'm sure there is another explanation for that lupine , . I began using firefox when Slipp/XG recomended it, for me at least, works great with nothing than just a few miliseconds more of lag, but more secure instead. I find myself unable to care about anything you've said (which, BTW, is the answer I was looking for; my original question was in earnest). I looked at those plugins and kept thinking that I could either go to a webpage to access similar content (weather), or use another program to do the same thing. At least now I have some idea, I guess, of why people want this stuff.

IE is just slow on my computer, and because I like the colorful-ness of the buttons and whatnot. And it has a cute icon and whatnot. And what do you mean 'It's a Star Fox site'? The people who created it probably knew little to nothing of the series. It's just a name with a symbol. Just because it has the word 'fox' in it doesn't mean that it has anything to do with furries or Star Fox or whatever.

Taco-Man
People can be so immature when it comes to IE and Firefox. Someone bought a domain along the lines of ie7.com (don't try it. I'm not sure if it was that) just so that it'd link to the FireFox site. I didn't even want to touch FireFox until one day I snapped about viruses and such. I like it more than the IE I used. Haven't really used the new one at all.
