TakeWalker
I ought to note, I'm never upgrading to IE7 unless something forces me to. I was able to shut off the update notification for it, so I'm golden for now. :P
Ludvig11
Now just don't bother about it so much, Shawn just says things/talks like that sometimes.

People using IE6 are the first and foremost problem for people like me who make websites. We have to specifically make sites JUST for IE6, overwritting the code that works on everything else. Also, when I redesign the main page, it will not work as well on IE6.

Mr. Krystal
Regardez-vous. I can make it so that the forums and site explode (literally) if you try to visit them with IE 6. Does that count?
Ludvig11
^ tough things like the scroll-bar to the right is blue-ish on IE.. and I can only log-in to Livejournal on IE... but well.. I have tried out Safari today..
Inuyasha
Firefox2 and IE7 are actually fairly close on all grounds. At themoment, it just boils down to preference. Personally, I hate IE7's interface. It's purely fugly. Firefox's is a bit nicer, if you ask me. Firefox's cache system is a bit nicer, too. It doesn't dump raw .jpgs and .htmls everywhere in the Temporary Internet Files. I know it does, at its heart, but I like that it keeps that to itself and in somewhat less space. I like extensions; they allow me to personalize my browser to do stuff faster/easier. On top of all that, it took forever for IE7 to come out. IE6 barely fixed many of its bugs, and IE7 definitely has some. It'll be a while before they're even looked into. Firefox, on the other hand, updates much more frequently, so bugs and updates are fixed/handled much quicker. That means generally bothersome things go away quicker. -Inuyasha
Mr. Krystal
What's great about IE7, from the point of view of web designers, is that Microsoft "fixed" all the hacks that allowed us to quickly and easily make adjustments for errors in IE, but only fixed maybe half of the bugs we needed the hacks for. Inuyasha
True, but the most web-designing I do is raw HTML, when I -really- need to do something. Anything I put up is usually just downloadable/Flash, so all I need's simple descriptions and such. No need for fanciness. Heh. Well, that's the Microsoft Dev team for you. They can barely do an OS right...especially Vista. It's best not to go near that until a service pack comes out, and then you can start being reluctant about it. -Inuyasha
