Rusakov
There's only one channel that shows an action cartoon (Biker Mice From Mars '93, to be exact). Just how sad is it when -upon seeing that on a medium that once sold itself on having variety- my reaction was basically this: For anyone intrigued: https://www.elreynetwork.com/shows/classics/biker-mice-from-mars
CrypticQuery
El-Rey does have a wide variety of classic programming. But in general I agree with you - I find myself turning to cable less and less these days. Most of my time watching TV is spent using Netflix or AmazonPrime.

That reminds me, I did a color coding of a day of Cartoon Network's programming. The result: Over HALF of that day's schedule was taken up by just two shows. And I'm not including the hour of Total Dramarama (the green blip) aka "The sequel nobody asked for or wanted". Worst of all? They're all comedy or slice-of-life, no other genres present. And cable execs wonder why people are cord cutting?
CrypticQuery
Yeowch, that's particularly bad. The parent company of CN also re-did Boomerang's programming lineup IIRC, and dropped a lot of the classic Hanna-Barbera back catalog in favor of two or three shows broadcasted in marathon format. It's a shame, really.

SkyHunter95
I ousted cable TV months ago, too expensive, nothing substantial to watch, plus streaming services are a bit cheaper, and I am in control. Cable TV will be extinct within the next 5-10 years at the absolute most. Nothing of value will have been lost.

When you mention nothing substantial to watch, I'm reminded of this post I saw on MKC forums: Quote I have been stuck out in the middle of nowhere the last couple days. Aside from helping my parents with some heavy lifting projects I have tried killing time catching up on cartoons. This is day three and the line-up still hasn't changed. Even adult swim has been the same shows night after night. The sheer lack of variety has becoming mind numbingly boring Even switching networks hasn't helped as Disney, Nick, and Boomerang play the same shows just like CN. It is enough to drive an animation lover crazymadkat THREE DAYS WITHOUT A CHANGE IN LINEUP Just to top it all off (link since Imgur isn't working right now): static
Rusakov
CN schedule for March 1st to March 7th. On the top right you see a list of shows aired by percentage that week. TTG and Gumball take up roughly 70% of the airtime, combine with that crummy Totaldramarama show means three shows take up slightly more than 80% of the airtime. All the other shows might as well not be there at all.

FastCompany - Pay TV is now losing 12,000 cord-cutters every day Oh well. Those who never learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Owner/Technical Admin Sideways Posted May 8, 2019 Owner/Technical Admin Share Posted May 8, 2019 I don't generally watch TV, my family has DirectTV and they use it, but generally there isn't anything worth watching. I would rather watch Netflix.
