Sol-Ratcht Saporro
Yeah, and I would deduct that its less likely to faulter in performance than a company manufactured one. Am I right?
Dr. Wilopolis
If set up right, yeah.
Sol-Ratcht Saporro
Aha, I see....If I could I would try to get a customized one made from a person. It would prolly cost a whole lot less....

Ludvig11
My big-brother Kalle >.> uhh.. but seriously I don't really know. But I've heard about plenty of problems about Apple's laptops, many has got problems with the screen, getting darker and "blinking" weirdly.. and that they didn't got any help from Apple's support at the start. HP's computer seems rather powerfull and nice office comps atleast... well, basicly ALL schools I know about are getting and have got Tons of HP computers, more economic for public use and more powerfull for offices and teachers.. well I HOPE they have not done a misstake now >.>... DELL seems nice to.. I suppose they are a bit more powerfull... but.. It seems like almost all companies use Intel's processors, and it's recently been that they have outrun AMD, so that they had to lower the prices a bit. Inuyasha
The one I'm running on's a custom-built. It's more expensive, depending on what you put in, but it makes managing it a lot easier. Plus, you decide all that goes in, which's nice. Ehh...HP makes quality desktops, but their laptops aren't that great. Ours had a problem with the power cord. After a while, the connector'd fault, and...yeah.... Nice computers, though. A bit showy, but it's still functional...VERY. Dell's now wizened up a bit and uses AMD cores now, which gives them a reason to be bought now (*Hates Intel and its over-propagandized processors*). As far as the actual hardware, it's usually alright, but the cheaper models suck. Their new "Custom-built" thing seems good, though. Sony...never had one. Far too expensive for not too much. Pretty much the same thing for Apple, except that I've used one and what I don't like's the interface. And the price. Hardware's decent, but not for that much. Plus, there're development bureaucracies that I'd rather not deal with if I ever publish anything useful. Intel Core 2 Duo > AMD64 Dual-Core, yes, but it also came out five years later. It better be better. Besides, with 4MB of processor cache, yeah, it'll run faster. Still a miserable architecture (don't get me started on Itanium), though. Plus, the processor race between AMD and Intel's always been alternating like that. The point is that AMD's will always be faster against its Intel equivalent. -Inuyasha
Conall Drest
Blah mines a comp made of various parts from various eras. Its a POS too. One of the harddrives is from 1999 Plus I got new parts to replace the old broken down parts now. Espescially the DVD ROM which the motor has worn out to nearly no strength and I have to pull the tray out and in to get CDs out. However I prefer custom comps cause thats all I ever had my whole life. Plus my familys poor so thats all we could afford (comps made from parts of other broken comps)
Ludvig11
Well I'll Vote "other" cause I've never had any OEM's anyway.
Guest Chiro-Chan
As long as it works, doesn't screw up alot, and can get me on the 'net, I'm good with it. In fact, the computer I have is a Windows '98, and it works fine.
Inuyasha
I would die with Win9x nowadays. I just can't stand the way it does stuff. >< -Inuyasha
Scott_Wolf
Uhm...I'll just say other...mainly because I've really got no idea and I always seem to settle with 'as long as it works and doesn't make me angry'. I haven't really tried all computers so I haven't yet been able to pick out any well known trouble makers in my books.
