brotheroffalco
Does it seem like every wifi game you get into someone will drop before the match is finished, this seems to happen to me a lot
Sol-Ratcht Saporro
Yeah, you ain't the only one. It's happened to me too many a time. That's why I don't try that ranked match. I rather just play for fun if I feel like it.
Syphe D. Mar
I quit trying to play Wifi because everyone I faced (including those from NSider) disconnected when I'm winning. Is losing worse than being scarred as a noob? :P
Inuyasha
I usually disconnect 'cause the DS connects to the nearest router, and not my own (damn that non-WPA-ness!), so it's not exactly "reliable. -Inuyasha
Lilacs
I had that happen many occasions on both SF-C and Mario kart Wi-fi matches, right when Iam about to win a race aganst a 3 star opponent. BAM! Your opponent has dissconected.
Scott_Wolf
It's only happened to me once, but then again, I've only played two games over wifi, but a 50% drop-out rate is not a good track record. I lost patiance with it fast, so I've never tried again.
EvolutionSFox
Yeah, but surprisingly, it really never happened to me. I've only dropped out one time too- and that was because nature problems. Other than that, my router recently died so I've yet to play Halo 2 or SFC again.
Inuyasha
We use WPA security, which the DS doesn't support. >< It sucks, but at least the Wii supports it, so I'm -hoping- the Wii can serve as a DS hotspot. I'd heard rumors about that. -Inuyasha
brotheroffalco
I dunno about that but it's started happening less and less to me but It's still annoying to be just about to collect a star and then hear the disconnect music
FireFox516
Before I got a WireLess router, I used one of those Nintendo Wi-Fi USB card thingys, and they make the game really laggy sometimes. I don't know if it was just me, but players would be dropping out like crazy...
Sol-Ratcht Saporro
^You're not the only one....(That's why there's a topic about it. XP ) I thought this could have been much much better. Like you could choose which ship you wanted to control. That way people are more likely to give it a chance, be cheap and stick around rather than quit at the drop of a hat. Inuyasha
There could be a "Leave Game" option or something. That's not insanely difficult. Most PC games do that, even if the host leaves; host-ship is just transfered to someone else. The thing I -really- don't get is why the DS doesn't do the same thing.... -Inuyasha
Lilacs
^ they have something like that in Mario Kart, were if an opponet leaves the match it doesn't effect the rest of the players. (unless he is the only one left) then again SF-C Wifi looks rushed, and uncomplete. Iam sure given more time, they could have done much better. salmon45
Yeah, it is annoying how one person leaving can ruin all the fun. It does not happen that much for me. The wi-fi network does have some issues, but it is so much better than the Gamecube's online service. Hopefully the Wii network will be better. Lilacs
The gamecube had online?!?
Sol-Ratcht Saporro
^ I never recall it having the online service. The closest thing I saw was the LAN feature of Mario Kart Double Dash where you could connect two GCs at once and play 8 people all together. Inuyasha
There was also Phantasy Star, but that was the only true online game for it.... -Inuyasha

salmon45
Yes, Phantasy Star Online was the only Gamecube game you could play online. The Gamecube online adapter was a pretty useless ad-on. The DS online service is not great, but it is a step in the right direction. Heres hoping that they will eventually get it right. The N64 memory card was really bad, but they did fine with the Gamecube one. Hopefully it will work out something like that.
Domino
I'm pretty sure SSBB will have online.... Start out with nothing....play....sleep.....downloading....next day new stuff.... It will be pretty basic!
Inuyasha
Yeah, it better. Otherwise, there's really not much for it. I -hope- it can be like Halo 2 for the Wii in terms of online domination-ness. -Inuyasha
Sol-Ratcht Saporro
I don't think SSBB is going to have it because, I distinctly remember a reviewer video saying that "Pokemon would be the only one so far with online features" I could be wrong though. I'm hope I'm wrong.
