Playing through Final Fantasy 3 on Super Nintendo, any tips?

Yesterday, I had gotten my Wii set up with my older TV, and I thought I'd try Final Fantasy 3. If I'm correct, this is actually FF6?

Anyways, so far I have named five characters, and in order they are - Scarab, Engine, Jimmy, Patrik and Skunks. I'm in South Figaro at the moment, and I'm stuck on where I should be headed. Any tips? I'll update the thread on any characters I need naming, too.

I haven't played any of the FF games so I don't have any tips for you, sadly.

Huh, fair. I did lose my save, so I'll have to get on that, lol.

I'm always happy to see a CRT TV in a discussion about retro gaming. There's nothing that can replicate sitting in the warm glow of a CRT, trying to tune out that high-pitched whine of the flyback transformer in the middle of the night.

I also have yet to actually sit down and play a Final Fantasy game. I own the original on NES, but never got around to giving it a go. I should probably rectify that sometime.

Oh yeah, I love my set. It's a cheap 2000s model, 14 inches. My only complaints are that the tape player can chew it sometimes (I'll link a video of that happening below) and it struggles with NTSC signals. Glad that Pal60 exists! Is there a better way to send videos over forum? No idea what settings to use. AVI seems to be smaller.

Back on topic with CRTs, I can get a shockingly clear image from my Wii, which I'm using to emulate the game. It really does glow, I should turn the blues down but apart from that, I love it.

I have never played an RPG that hasn't tried to subvert expectiations, most classic RPG I've played is EarthBound. It's interesting to see the quirks and tropes in a non-ironic sense.

I know you live in the same state as I do, you should consider taking a trip up here in October to visit RetroGameCon. We've got more then enough CRTs to enjoy!
