DZComposer
The four major signs have shown themselves. All in one year. #1. Apple switches to Intel: January 10, 2006 (when available) #2. Dell offers AMD processors: October 23, 2006 (when available) #3. Microsoft recognizes and supports Linux: November 2, 2006 #4. Amiga (Commodore) releases a new OS, with hardware to come in 2007: December 24, 2006 Not to mention the smaller signs: The AMD/ATI merger Quad SLI working Crossfire working Nintendo out-launching Sony Windows Vista appears Sony intentionally spreading rootkit-like DRM software Ads in Games I'm scared. o_O

Inuyasha
I think it's interesting that there's no more processor exclusivity. It's mostly due to the fact that the Opteron architecture drained Intel's funds. XD The AMD/ATI merger's pretty neat, too. Can you say: graphics processing done directly by the processor? Ads in games is sad. So is Vista. Hm...methinks hardware's being pushed to its limits these days. I don't think there' much room for improvement left, unless something new's discovered. But Microsoft...and Linux? NEVAR! The end is near! Repent! -Inuyasha

Domino
You forgot some things: 1. How close are we to makeing real Digimon? 2. When are thing going to start being like Tron and Reboot? And... 3. When are we able to live in (not on) the internet like Matrix?
Lilacs
1. Once computer AI and a computer strong enough is created. 2. once contrys (mostly the USA) move over to corn or water (yes they do exist) cars and other vehicles. Why don't people in the big seats not think any more? 3. Once, we find a way to turn people into data that a computer can read, but then again why would you want to live on the net insted of the real world, and what would happen to the poeple there it there was ever ot be a power short? Mr. Krystal
I see this all as a good thing. The more unsure the future, the more we adapt to handle it. If I'm right, we're looking at the start of a period of massive, rapid technological advancement. Not like sci-fi technology, but some of the stuff predicted in the last 10 years will start falling into place.

Kal
Show of hands, how many people want real Digimon? *mass of raised hands* Okay, how many people wouldn't want real Digimon if they couldn't have Renamon? ...That's what I thought.
Inuyasha
You forgot some things: 1. How close are we to makeing real Digimon? 2. When are thing going to start being like Tron and Reboot? And... 3. When are we able to live in (not on) the internet like Matrix? 1. Debatable. 2. Mrr...not very soon, methinks. 3. Probably never. It's been calculated that to "upload" an entire person into a computer would require more silicon atoms than exist in the universe. Of course, that's assuming that we use only silicon, so.... Plus, as Lilacs said, it's not particularly practical. 0.o I'm sure a "virtual reality" interface is, though. What are these predicted things, Dwight? I dunno...I was like, 5, when said things were predicted, so I -really- wasn't paying attention to the world behind "the computer." -Inuyasha
