Kal
Alright. This is the story of a brilliant scientist. One of the best the world has ever known. His name was Amedor Falmus, the head research scientist for GenTyc, the top government contractor. He was in charge of several of their most well-known projects, such as ripple cloaking, electrostatic nanogelatins...and Project Scourge. When he announced to the world that he had developed technology that could transfer the human mind onto a computer chip, naturally, the reaction was an extreme mix. Some scrambled to sign up for the novelty of "living as a toaster," other were...vehemently opposed. Critics demeaned the Project as devaluing the life of a human. "Who are we," they said, "to treat the soul as a bit of information to be emailed back and forth?" As the project grew, so too did the voice of opposition. Several extremist groups had even become violent, sparking mobs and riots across the globe in the final years. The final straw came when Dr. Falmus announced to the world that the technology was complete, and that the very first Union would take place live on global television. Amedor himself, well-aged by this time, would be the first to undergo the treatment and so continue his work without concern for his failing health. That day, the extremists attacked the research facility. Most were killed, but not before setting off a bomb inside the laboratory. Dr. Falmus was seriously injured, including a sharp blow to the head from the debris. The only way to save his life was to transfer before his new body was properly configured to be compatible with his mind. To the extremists' dismay, the transfer seemed to be an amazing triumph in their faces, and Amedor personally visited each one before their executions to thank them for proving the success of Project Scourge. Still unsatisfied, he continued experimenting with several alien captives. To his dismay, the process couldn't be repeated; it appeared a miracle that he had survived the transfer, a sheer accident, a cosmic joke, if you will. After several attempts with various species, he finally had his first successful Union, in the form of one Alon d'Reev. Designated XS-001 to signify his success, the newly-reborn Scourge, as the units had come to be called, was quite compatible with the body configuration. Problems still plagued the project, however. 001 had been the only unit to survive for an extended period; the other either suffered from mental breakdowns or simply couldn't handle the process. It seemed as if the success rate varied from species to species. Alien experiments would no longer suffice. Dr. Falmus had to choose human subjects. It took several more tries. It pained the other scientists to see what became of the human test subjects because of their deeds, but Dr. Falmus pushed them to continue. For the glory of humanity, he told them. Eventually, after several modifications to the process he finally had one human subject react complimentary to the Union. This human, a former marine honorably discharged, was given a new body that still retained some of the old for necessary functions, and the results were dramatically improved. The body of a machine, the heart of man. And so XS-037 was born, retaining his human name: Revin Daricceno. *bows slightly and sits down*

Kal
Heh, so it seems. Revin pledged his loyalty to me and has served at my right hand faithfully ever since...even when I am...not myself. But his story's not over yet; our creator's legacy lives on, some of you have met him, a slight few even seen his face, or what's left of it. Amedor Falmus is no more; Mephaust has taken his stead. *Raj and Revin shudder slightly, whisper a curse* It is a sad state of events; Amedor slipped away into madness shortly after the Exile. While Raj lead the rest of us Scourge, the doctor continued his...experiments. Using the properties of elements common on the planet, Amedor became something of an alchemist, concocting various potions and remedies for the natives before the war began. Most importantly, he discovered...this. *pulls out a white vial* As of yet, no one knows how he did it, or even it's composition. But it is a potent medicine known simply as Regen. By ingesting only a few ounces, recovery time was sped up dramatically, almost to the point of instant regeneration. The greatest medicine in the world, the cure-all long sought after. But...the success of Regen didn't slow his descent into madness. Nay, some would dare that it merely sped it up. He changed his name, no longer wishing to be tied down to his human past. He was something more, something greater, something a mere human could only wish to become...the God of the Machine. When Raj took over Koulthos, the dungeon was converted into a makeship laboratory. As somewhat of a cruel joke, Raj granted Mephaust the rank of High Inquisitor. That is, he was in charge of...ah, "interrogation." Through any means necessary. He tortured people. And it gave him pleasure to hear them scream. And given that he alone knows the formula for Regen...he can torture as much as he wants with fear of actually killing someone. Jasho was lucky; when he was taken to the Lab, Mephaust was almost completely out of Regen and had to go easy on him. J: You call that "going easy?!" I still haven't forgiven you completely for that. I could tell by the nails in my steak you threw away. The point is, Jasho was a light case. The Lab eventually became less of an interrogation and more of a punishment; even after Kal retook the throne, Mephaust only wanted to continue his "experiments," he called them. He hated the thought of killing someone, not because he took a life but because he couldn't torture them more. It didn't take him long to eventually become banished to the same dimension as the traitorous Xenth. ...That was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. Shortly after arriving in the Cell dimension, the population started decreasing steadily. Mephaust was actually absorbing the powers of those trapped with him. Consider that the Xenth are a race of powerful psychics; after absorbing about nine of them, he had gained the powers of a god, a terrible god of death. Yet the seal was too strong; he can't break it no matter how hard he tries. So he terraformed the lone planet in the dimenion, converting it into one massive facility for holding his experiments on the inmates who were sent there...the Lab. And at the center of the Lab is a massive chamber that only Mephaust himself has entered, the Palisade of Fears as it's come to be called. It's said he keeps the souls of those he absorbs bound to its walls, living each day in eternal torment. There is but one way to get into the Lab, and but one way to return. You must be sent there, and your crime must've been absolutely heinous to deserve a fate far worse than mere death can grant. The convicted recieves a specialized implant, a Spider we call it, that uses the same technology as the Union process and transmits his mind into the Lab, where it is made incarnate according to Mephaust's will. And the only way to return...is if he transmits you back. Everything that happens in that dimension is according to his design; he has complete dominance over it like some twisted god. Mephaust the Tormentor. His name has become a curse, our very own Lucifer. His face haunts the minds of every Scourge, whether they'll admit to it or not. He has become the Devil of our world, and I wish none of you will ever fall prey to him.
Lilacs
Sounds like a planet worthy enough for the death bomb, I mean if mister Amedor quack quack is such a bad guy why not destroy his soul and get it over with? Because such weapon is not a toy. Come on its not like it's painful or anything, all you feel is a wall of air push you and then your empty body falls over on to the ground. Kal
K: *shakes head vehemently* You can't be serious about using that abomination. Besides, Raj only described the way you're SUPPOSED to be sent to the Lab. It's as easy as putting a Spider on your shoulder and letting it get to work. He *points to Rink* is lucky Raj was holding the Freeze switch, else he'd learn about Mephaust before the rest of you. The point is that Mephaust is holding lots of innocents along with the criminals in the Lab. If he were to die, he'd take the entirety of the Lab with him. And that's assuming you can get the bomb to work in there. Raj wasn't joking when he said the powers of a God. Some impossible things happen there, physically and magically impossible. The Tormentor points at you and your skin peels off until your muscles bare. You broil alive in a vat of slag, unable to die, unable to come up for air. You black out after your body has been torn to pieces, and you wake up with naught but the pain to remind you. His eyes are everywhere; you cannot sneak into the Lab. In addition, do you realize what would happen if he found an Unsent in the Lab? That means the seal has been weakened; means that he can escape. Means the entire universe becomes his Lab. I won't allow that to happen. He deserves it entirely, but I will not let you unleash that...monster.

Lilacs
Come now Kal, if this man is so bad just destroy him. Katara, the why I see it, is that if this thing was to be set free, he would be more that happy to steal the tech of the Death bomb and use it against it own creators. Bah, the Leaf empire would fight him to the last and would stand vic- No wonder the mighty Thorn god sent us to destroy your puffed up nation in ancient times. Dont tell me you too, believe in magic and crap. Would you loosen up! There are more things beyond your planet then- Orly, lets see *Points to Raj* A crazed snake robot,*Points to Revin* Some other robot on tall steroids,*Points to Kal* and scruffy kid,*Points to Jasho* and a ass mouth...yeah Iam so amazed. Kal
Yeah, I am so amazCZK! *SD cuts off Katara's airstream and lifts her off the ground* Now that I've got your attention, know this. There are forces much greater than you, far beyond your little civil war. Simply because you were ignorant of them gives you no excuse to continue ignoring them. And when you realize your stupidity- K: Raj, let her go. If she doesn't want to believe these things, that's her choice. She doesn't know what the seal is, or even where it is. And if they ever find it...then they'll believe. ...Fine. *drops her gasping for air, SD hangs limp yet tight around her neck* But I won't have you insulting my intelligence again, nor what I know to be the truth. Do I make myself clear?
Guest Whirlpool
(Ooc: Oh yeah, I saw that. It looks great! ) "....Katara's skepticism might be rubbing off on me, but I'm not sure. Rubbing me the wrong way while it does so, but rubbing off all the same. In my book, *points to Revin* Possible. *points to Jasho* Possible. Even you *points to Raj and Kal* with your divided soul thing, possible. That whole, other "dimension with a giant crazed god of death" thing though....That's a bit iffy.....But sure, that's your story, from your part of the universe, and since I've never really been there, or any other planet than my own for that matter, I'll take your word for it. That and Kadeem would hand me my ass on a plate for not "keeping an open mind"......" (Ooc: I just thought of something. Lilacs
(OOC: Thank you!) *Cough* Not really, you stop making since when you started talking, and its not a civil war its a World war every race of Era is involved with it! You forget them, Katara. Please they have such a small military power that they wouldn't last a minute! Thats what Frill HQ thought about your nation when you came in to the war
Kal
Indeed, I have no military power anymore. Sarq led a coup against me and took over the Scourge Empire. For the better, really. You don't want someone with...my condition in charge. But you would be wise not to insult the Scourge military. Twenty of us overtook a planet. Now imagine a planet full. All it takes is one Yamato cruiser on your doorstep to end your petty conflict.

Lilacs
Raj honey, by the time you Yamatoto reached Fana it would be space garbage from all of our outposts. I heard Anti-Space weaponry works wonders on Space craft and the other armys wouldn't be to happy aether.
Kal
J&K: ...There's pie?! Where? Not so, for you cannot shoot what you cannot see. My dear, there are many, many ways to plant a Yamato fleet right on your nose without you knowing it. We could ripple-cloak the entire fleet, and your sensors would pick up nothing more than a dark matter meteor a couple feet across. Or a simple gate beacon disguised amongst your cargo. Any number of tiny merchant vessels equipped with a wormhole generator brings you wide open to the awesome might of the Ragnarok Cannon, faced with the full fury of the planet itself. The prison planet is simply no more than a synthetic alternate dimension, created to house enough to keep one planet barely alive. I knew Mephaust could absorb basic powers, but I had no idea he could overpower a Xenth and steal something so powerful. With the power of nine of the strongest Xenth his to command...it's not that far of a stretch to call him a god. K: Hm? Oh, right, sorry. Y'see, the Xenth are one of the races on our planet. Extremely powerful psychics, in the body of...of... J: Psychic mind in a facehugger's body. K: That's it. There are very few of them in existence; they keep out of our lives for the most part. Sarq's a Xenth, the strongest of them all.
Lilacs
But thats were you fall short Raj, we Era have no earth wormhole tech and the Leaf look over all of there cargo. So any thing that looks weird will be shot down dark matter..puff Grrr... Plus I am sure the owners of the most powerful weapon of all Era wouldn't be to happy and send said weapon to some ones home world in vengeance... *Looks a Kal*
Kal
K: His threats are empty, anyways. He has no power over the Scourge anymore. A king without a throne! ...*grr* I am merely pointing out that it is entirely possible; you simply haven't caught their eye yet. Perhaps Fana is far enough away that you're not considered a threat. Let's hope for you sake...that things stay that way.

'Little over a foot in diameter, and filled with more fresh berries and fruits than you could probably think of. Best served fresh from the oven and with whipped cream. *holds up can of whipped cream and smiles**sets pie on table with plates* There's also a meat version, but I won't be able to make one of those until I get a chance to go hunting."
