Does anybody here actually LIKE Assault?

I never played Halo, Q3A controls FTW :D

something like that but with the halo controls the right stick is movment the left is camera look and the buttons are stuff like the trigger is shoot and stuff I think if assault had the same control style it would have been cool.

You can change on-foot controls to use two sticks and the trigger like Halo and Quake 3: Revolution.

I don't get this, "Oh the controls for command suck" ,"oh the controls for assault suck", THEY ARE ALL SO GOOD!!!

whats the point in crouching in that game anyway, the maps are huge, so they need a circle to go around you, and with that circle your seen anyway.

You know what imma draw diagrams, Yes, Diagrams of how holding the controller for both those games can be easy, and if you hold it like this and still find it hard... i dunno.

scratch that I'll just tells ya, and I'm sure that much of this stuff is obvius

left hand

thumb = right stick

index = L

other three under the controller on the handle thingy

right hand

thumb=C stick may need switching for a and b

index finger covers X and Y when at rest, although may need switching for a or b

middle finger = R

The rest= support handle bar thingy.

Command

Wo, you only need one button...

index= R

right hand = everything else.

I can guarantee this will do no help for almost anyone, but like, it bothers meh not to let everyone know how I would hold the controller, just in case someone is thinking oh these controls suck, and havena tried it like this, if you don't like it like this then find another way you like.

I didn't say that sucked, I'm just saying they need to be reworked, it's hard to navigate in on foot missions.

I never got that either, I switched to dual stick mode and I just plow through everything like it's a level I know well in Doom.

heheh... speaking of plowing through things, I just finished the Sauria mission, and I finally had the machine gun (with 800 rounds :D) for taking out the targets in those tunnels... I just barreled through, gun blazing, screaming like Animal Mother from FMJ (

)

oh, man, that was fun.

I liked it! a lot to be honest, but nowadays i think it could have been better, it;s still one of my favorites though lol

Heh heh, I completed all of Sauria without loosing my combo.

Fun doing that :D

I use to get combos in the 1000's on the Orbital gate level :)

Geeze loise I dislike that level!!!

I don't even know why I don't like it, but whenever i have to do it in story, I just feel bad cause i don't want to.

... and it's the next one I have to take on. As soon as I get a chance. I have to say, I'm looking forward to blowing up some bandits.

I'd also like to point out the the music on Sauria and Corneria is epic. Yeah.

true, but it's like sector z, i did not like sector z. Besides if I wanted an arwing level (which i always doooooo) I'd play starfox 64, so i don't really mind assault being mostly foot, just cause i can switch  between games and then it don't matter.

Orbital gate and Aparoid city were a blast. I didn't do so well on orbital gate, too many tagets... I managed to keep my flight alive, but no badge. Aparoid city, I kept getting lost and had no idea what to do... i spent half an hour on it, got over 500 kills and a badge... hooray! the Arwing section reminded me of Independence Day, just like that level in 64.

Man this game is fun.

I liked that part too, but I played SF assualt so much, I took out the missiles before SW even had a chance.

The Star Wolf theme in Assault is really good too, it fits so well with the team. In fact, all the music is above average, now that I think about it...

Namco games tend to have awesome music, even Namco Museum Remix, witch SUCKED, still had awesome music.

I did like the "Lofty" feeling the SW theme had, not to mention that laid-back sounding trumpet, really fit the battle. (which not to mention, was one of my favorites...)
