Does anybody here actually LIKE Assault?

Also: This game needed more James-Sama, and Katt and Bill had to be in it.

Multiplayer is fun though. But I hate the ships, and the LandMaster. They're so SLOW.

It was a nice game though, and one of the big goodie points came from the catchy music.

But I liked Adventures much MUCH more. *people look at me funny and scoot away*

Yes, I know I had to be in it...

*cricket chirps*

Anyways I thought Assault wasn't so bad. Although the past Star Fox games blow it out of the water. :/

I suppose this would be a simpler way of summarizing my thoughts on the first page.

I liked it alot, the on-foot add-on was great. The multiplayer rules.

I really enjoyed Assault. Yes, there were flaws, but I found the replay value high on Gold Diffuculty.

I swear, dear old General Pepper keeps kicking my sore behind.... he keeps killing me like 10-15 times before I beat him.

The destruction of the Great Fox keeps making me cry.  (I'm such a wuss, I know)

Speaking of Pepper, he didn't look like he aged a bit in the eight years between 64 and Adventures, but dang, less than three years after that in Assault, his appearance was borderline scary. >_>;

Maybe he got cancer or something

I hope it's nothing terminal, I would like to see Pepper again.

I enjoyed Assault, actually.  I never got to finish it though, and I really ought to go back and do it.

Assault was a "meh" from me. The only missions worth playing are the Arwing only ones. As a whole, it doesn't have anything really worthwhile. One or two play throughs is enough for me to get bored.

I thought Assault was pretty good.  I'll admit that the dialogue was very, very corny (except for a select few; I loved Wolf's quote) and should have been redone.  C'mon, the entire Lylat System was under attack!  One would expect them to talk a lot differently...

I don't understand why people didn't like the on-foot missions.  I thought transferring vehicles during a mission was fun.  I do understand that it takes away from the "sitting in the cockpit all the time" thing, but you can't expect a game to be made almost exactly the same way every time...

I rank it as a neutral, only because of the cheesy dialogue.  -.-  :|

I think Assault was A-OK, but there are a few things that I didn't like-

1. THERE WERE ONLY 10 MISSIONS!

That's all. The storyline, voices, dialogue, were all great.

:P

I liked StarFox Assault for the following reasons:

Krystal was wearing skin-tight outfit which is hot. Overall a pretty decent game, Multiplayer was fun. And I absolutly owned on Story mode.

Beat 7347 on Orbital Gate. Has been the record for a long time.

Edit: Actually I take that back the only reason I liked Assault was because Krystal and the record I hold. Other than that it was too much of a kid friendly game. I used to like Starfox alot more as a kid but I don't expect it to age as I do.

If I had my choice of what Starfox would be it wouldn't be rated T, trust me.

I agree with you i think the starfox series should at least consider using swear words that would be cool

I got it last year. It's such a hard to find game. >_<

Luckily this guy on eBay had a shedload of Italian copies XD There was an English option, thank god. Even though I'm half italian...

ANYWAY.

I thought it was pretty good, I asked on Smashboards (of all places...) what they thought of it and it was a mixed response.

I bought it anyway regardless and enjoyed it a lot.

The mixed elements made it fun and somewhat tactical. I think the voice acting was great, really suited the characters. I don't think Wolf and maybe Leon really suited the British accents, the new gruff voice and creepy voice for Leon suit them more :wolf:

Um. It was really short which was disappointing. I think the levels could have been longer but fun while it lasted.

The graphics in the cutscenes were amazing. I loved them. They were really classy.

Obviously Krystal returning was exciting for me. Some people blamed her as a character for ruining the series but I think she was probably a welcome addition and was a change to the whole sausage fest, plus Krystal and Fox go together IMO :leon:

I was really shocked that Andross didn't return again, oh well.

The multiplayer is uber fun! It's so addictive, I played it with four friends and they all thought it was fun.

Should definitely return in a possible Wii games, with online maybe.

On-foot missions didn't really bother me, I enjoyed them mostly. Corneria was a tad annoying but it was fun I guess, more Arwing missions wouldn't go amiss, that's what made the series after all.

Music was sterling! I love it, going to get them on my iPod soon. The multiplayer music especially.

It's so climatic and epic. <3

Overall I think the game is above average, worth buying but not a must have.

I liked it anyway  :leon:

I thought Assault was f!@#in awesome!  Although the controls (particularly regarding the barrel roll and the aming while in a landmaster/on the ground) were a little odd at first (partially due to the fact that I don't regularly play game cube), I'd say it was really good.  I've always genuinely been intrigued by what ground combat on foot in the Starfox world was like, and Assault gave me a good idea of how it went.  The only thing I particularly found annoying about the game was panther, cuz it's like c'mon, leave krystal alone! *shoots panther down first* :krystal:

I've to say assault was much better than adventures reasons:

Arwing missions, better ground missions , vs mode,

and unlockable Wolf for vs mode.

i didn't like that it was too short and that i don't get if the entire lylat system was in danger why then only 10 missions they could have put a lot more missions

other than that it was a great game.

I liked it for what it was, but I didn't think as much of it as Adventures or SF64. I didn't like the lack of camera control on it, nor the inability to have a gun select menu. It wasn't very challenging before I sold my GC either (I kept the StarFox games though), as I got gold through the hard difficulty, and then there was nowhere to go, as I had no nearby friends to do the multiplayer :?

I did however play the heck out of it, though I did the same for Adventures too (8:12 [h:mm] was my best time). They tried to hard in my opinion, and kind of half succeeded...but half failed. I'm still using the technology for a fanfiction I'm planning

I actually love it. Because of the graphic and gameplay, it's so awesome. The storyline seem perfect instead of map of stages branching out to any place. Plus, it got Multiplayers so yeah. I like it.

Some yes some not it depends on who you ask.

I think that Assault was OK one time around, not much replay value. Even though the multilayer mode wasn't well designed, it's the one thing that keeps me playing the game.

assult was pretty good (the graphics were good) but the controlls lacked a lil something. it seemed more like a 3 year old game then a 17 Year old game :/

hum... Actually maybe Assault had good graphics but that doesn't make it a good game

I just said the graphics didn't make assault a good game, but I never said the game was bad, of course multiplayer is fun but it's quite limited, especially in vehicles, arwing battles are so not interesting, you can't do much ( shoot, opponent does a loop, you get hit and do a loop... and so on ). Compare a fight in the air in... hum the level where there is only the great fox and a fight on foot on Zoness, in my opinion Zoness is by far the best of the two. I think the only good arwing action are in solo play, even if it's not always that good in Assault and that there aren't many.
