Era Wars

Ok, yeah, if this is your first time reading this post or reading about Era Wars, let me say that the game has change quite alot since the time of this post.

It has been replaced with newer, more up to date info and sprites, along with a beta of EW's theme song.

Once the release of Stencyl 1.0., Me and a group of friends plain to construct and game called Era Wars, Era is the primary name of the Four races of lizard like creature that inhabit planet Fana, a world torn and soaked in war.

Era Wars(EW) will play out much like a 2D Battalion wars, letting players take the wheel of a tank, or grabbing the rifle of an infantry man. We plain to hold back on the Air craft and Naval units, and work with just a few land units.

To make up for the shortage of units, Era Wars will fetcher 4 On-line modes, all will give the player unlimited units (But has to wait a sec for them to respawn), this modes are listed below with detail.

1.Skirmish- (2-4 players)

Small maps size lets player travel not far to duke it out. When one player destroys another's unit they are rewarded with a X number of points, the one with the highest score by the end of these timed matches wins.

2.King of the Hill- (2-4 players (Including allies))

There is a flag poll in the center of these large maps, first player to raise there flag completely wins.

3.Assault- (2 Players)

One player is given the task of attacking 2 objectives, and then told to raise there flag at the other players HQ, while the other play must defend the objectives and there HQ.(Not all at the same time of course)

4.All Out War- (2-4 Players)

This is like super Skirmish, the maps are timed, but players are given an unlimited supply of units, and they do not lose if there battalions are destroyed. Instead, players can choose which units they want before the mission, and if those are all destroyed they can choose a whole other set.

The only catch is choosing units during a fight leaves your base wide open, if an enemy raises his flag at your base, your out!

The four races of Era are know as the Frill, Sha, Leaf, and Thorn, each of which has some what of a grudge with one another.

- Story

The Land of Fana wasn't always like it is now, once a thriving world each race lived in what seemed like harmony, until the Thorn empire came under rule of a new leader, Vladimir.

This monster despised the fact that there growth and power were out of his full reach, the oil and jewel thick Sha dessert, the food and material suppies of the Frill cities, and the laber of the Leaf men, he wanted it all.

She's right, now that the units are done comes the long pain staking task of animating all of the units.

Each of the unit classes are clocked at different speeds to show weight and how they will act in the game.

Recons are clocked at 4 frames per second

L-Tanks are clocked at 5 FPS.

and The Artillery are clocked at 7.

(I haven't done the infantry or the APC's some there still under debate.)

I also want to add that these animations are not final, they are only here to show how the frames with act with each other (too see if theres any bugs in them), if you see something you think needs to be changed, don't hesitate to say so.

Wow! That's awesome work. Did you do these yourself or are they mods. (they look like Advance Wars sprites).

They set in a AW style to fit EW, and I admit there are some parts from AW sprites, but most of it is by hand.

Today marks a turning point in EW, over the weekend I was thinking if a 2D Battalion Wars style game would best hold the game.

The BW style game play will give

-Real time

-Same strategy

-Ability to change unit under your control on the spot

-More graphic actions

-More Detailed units

Draw backs

-ALL THE SPRITES WILL BE REDONE Sad(((((((((((

-Harder to program

-Kal Hates me

Iam redoing the tanks again, this time a little larger and more detailed. First up is the Frill L-tank:

Iam still waiting for a friend to construct the projectiles, so all I can give you now is a Driving animation.

Its running and a Duration of 7, with the same old 6 frames.

This is going to be a pc game right?

Yes, but there is talk about making a Xbox 360 or Wii port of Stencyl, technicality if you can get a 360 or Wii to read Java, it will run Stencyl and its games.

Testing the bullet rotation, the turrets movement came out really well.

After I think more on how to render the bullet wile the tanks moving, I'll finish this guy up and give him more effects, including the explosion.

Remember he's just a small part of the Sha L-Tanks Character Test, character test will show every move that unit can do.

We need a programmer to wright the AI for Our game Era Wars.

You need to understand Java, and how to work with Stencyl, once its released.

The AI isn't very large, and Stencyl will come with many editable AIs, you can use.

AI is kinda like writing a program code for a Progammable logic controller! (PLC) If something happends, do this. Basiclly.

Yes, but I don't know the first thing about programming, I know how it works, but I don't know how to do it.
