nigel76
there's been a new worm going around, win32 opasoft .t, also known as speedy.pif. it's a trojan that steals information and compromises system stability. it can infect all versions of windows from 98SE to Vista, but those running ME (like myself) should be especially careful, as the virus can imbed itself in the kernel32dll file. it spreads through msn hotmail, and through careless use of p2p programs (any file under 1mb is suspicious and should not be downloaded unless you're absolutely sure the filesize is correct.) if you use hotmail, don't download any attachments. also go to www.filehippo.com and get kaspersky antivirus, it's the best one for killing win32 opasoft (saved me from having to reformat, when nothing else would touch it) another way it can infect is through the trojan downloader win95 dupator 1503, which is contained in some adware cookies, so run ad-aware SE regularly (I run it daily, it doesn't take that long)
