RPGmaster2000
Yeah, My newest hobby is filming. Got a Youtube account ready with a 7-minute video already uploaded. Check it out if you've got nothing else to do. It's called Top of The Hill and doesn't really have much of a plot, considering that no script was used... but it's still a treat for film and videogame fans alike. Just watch and you'll se why. www.youtube.com/EtunaFilms
TakeWalker
Well, when you said it was "random", I had expected a video of you and your friends goofing around. I was instead very impressed by the professionality of this. o.o Of course, you ultimately undermined that with the soundtrack, but I'll get to that. The music actually was a big part of this film, I felt. It lent a sense of tribality to the neverending struggle between boys and girls. Then it got silly. I thought "Du Hast" was a little over the top, though I was relieved to see it was at least being played on the boy's tape player. Then again, I didn't know what "over the top" was until I heard the Final Fantasy music playing. That was just too much, and I stopped watching. If nothing else, you've got a solid base from which to keep making good-quality films. You may want to rethink your approach, even just a bit. RPGmaster2000
Well, you do bring up some good points. The FF battle was kind of my friends idea and Du Hast was indeed played on his tape player and was there to signify the sort of "generic musical tastes of a teenager". I don't even listen to that stuff. The "professional" parts in the start is really what I enjoyed doing the most, as it allowed me to direct in a more creative fashion, unlike the FF battle which was just plain fun to make, to be honest. (Although a little out of place some might argue, that's something I'll have to think about, I agree) But it would be also a lot easier for me to do professional stuff with real consistency if I had a script, which we never had. We just made everything up as we went along. The FF music might have been considered over the top because the battle itself was over the top as well. I doubt I'll be doing something that random again though unless it has some significance to the plot. Thanks for the input.
