Mr. Krystal
Have you guys heard of this new thing? ArwingLanding just announced that they've finished and released a Star Fox fan game called "Tales of Corneria." It's a 3D shooter that follows the story of the Japanese comic from between SF64 and Adventures. I'm attempting to try it, but my Windows XP install on my Mac isn't working today, so I'm reinstalling. Let me know what you guys think of this. Here's where you can read about and download it: http://arwinglanding.net/forum/index.php?topic=11723.
Gene Inari
This looks very interesting, downloading it as I type this post, but with it being a little past midnight, I'll have to play it tomorrow.
PuffNStuff
Yep... me too! _,.-Edit-.,_ RUNTIME ERROR!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Couldn't play it...
Syphe D. Mar
Did anyone get this to work yet, by the way? I'm downloading it right now. EDIT: Runtime error. I'm assuming that he made a minor mistake... EDIT EDIT: It works if I left the settings alone. 0.o Controls feels kinda clunky, though. XD Eh, fun... somewhat. EDIT EDIT EDIT: Game's on the really really short side, not that it's a problem. I don't like the controls at all, though. That's the worst aspect of the game. You can beat the game by barrel rolling, unfortunately. It's also very ugly, though they can seemingly be modified. Not much of a problem other than that. Better than those 2D Star Fox games, I guess. XD
PuffNStuff
OK i played it.It is Okay for a fan game, but the collision detection and the Sound effects need to be worked on. Most of the sound effects were just very short loops from SF64. The speed of the actual game play could be improved, and a radar would be nice since the sneak attacks from behind are annoying. The mouse is nice to control the arwing, but really hard to get used too, as you lose the corsair some times and it takes a while to find it again lol. Anyways, the rail flying is nice but when falco came out, it would have been B.A to dogfight him. The fog distance is what also frustrated me because by the time you saw the enemies approaching, they already got a shot off and you are sent into a barrel roll. What really needs to be done are cut scenes. I think it would be a nice touch if the cut scenes were like uhh..... IDK.... Pheonix Wright? (never played it). The cut out style would be cool if someone just took the comic and ripped out the cut scenes needed, blew them up fixed them so they look good at the resolution. It would be pretty cool, and if done right it would look B.A. The main thing that needs to be fixed though is the pace of the game. It needs to be faster and a lot more flexible. There was no difference between brake and boost really, the rail just kept truckin. Still, besides shadows of lylat, this is a damn good fan made game. What engine was used? Syphe D. Mar
It says DarkBASIC Pro on it, so... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Basic_Pro
Blink
Ack. I was going to wait until I had fixed all the bugs and thrown in the map screen (with a few cut scenes) before showing it at other boards. I guess it got around faster than I thought it would. Oh well. I will have some things fixed up in another build which, hopefully, is coming VERY soon. I think a lot of the slowness is framerate issues, which people have been experiencing a lot since most SF gamers don't exactly have gaming rigs. >.< But yeah, some things won't be fixed until the next episode (yes, I intend for this to be episodic) like the fog and the speed of the game, but other things, like the barrel rolls and maaaybe the graphics, might get fixed in v1.2. If there's anything else you guys would like to see updated in this, make it known!
Star Fox Runner
So YOUR the one who made it, nice job, but I think there is a glitch in the Goras fight, I just fly right past him and never see him again.
Blink
ACCK. WHAT IS THAT GLITCH? I neeeeed to find out how that happens. EVERYONE is experiencing it, everyone but me that is.
