ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
If it's made anything like SWAT Kats, it's guaranteed awesome. What's so good about SWAT Kats?
Mr. Krystal
What's so good about SWAT Kats? Pretty much everything. Back when it was released, there were a sea of not-that great shows. This one stood out with a few others as really great. Look up some episodes on YouTube or something to get an idea.
salmon45
Oh man I had forgotten all about that show. I used to watch it all the time. Whenever they got into a jam they went "Crud!" As far as an animated series that might work if they went about it the right way. Maybe it could be mixed 3d/flat like titan ae or something. Guest Chiro-Chan
What's so good about SWAT Kats? Everything. It had top notch animation (I have yet to see anything as well animated as it), pretty decent episode stories, the characters weren't cliche and fakey, it had excellent music, and above all, it was flat out cool. I think Star Fox would do well as an animated series if done in a similar manner (not the exact same thing over mind you), and not to mention how well it'd fit the game series, since they have a lot of things in common, and were both created at about the same time. PuffNStuff
It would be about the smaller missions they get in between the huge ass wars in the games
salmon45
An animated series would also be a good opportunity to explore what the characters did in their free time when they were not fighting.
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Another thing I think they could try for an animated series is characters exclusive to the show, like maybe Fox having a mother, or Andross having 2 bumbling officers in his army who are constantly thwarted by Star Fox. They could also talk about other things Fox did in flight school, or go more into Falco's biker days. How about that?
Guest Chiro-Chan
Both excellent points. We could probably get a better grasp on the character's... well... character. Though I wouldn't be too happy with show-specific characters. They did that with a few other TV shows based on games, and those 'non-game series' characters hogged the attention away from the main character the WHOLE TIME. Minor show-specific characters would be okay though.

salmon45
The characters could use flashbacks sometimes to look back at some of the things they did in the past.
Four-eyed Vulpine
I was thinking we could add some Super Sentai elements (a.k.a Power Rangers in America), minus the whole ranger concept. -1) A unique minor villain in each episode for antagonistic variety -2) The periodic episode focus on a specific character, either hero or recurrent villain (personal conflict, physical conflict, etc.) -3) A steady increase in experience as the series progresses (tougher villians and more chaotic fights in later episodes, including possible equipment upgrades) -4) Physical indications of damage during and after fight or battle sequences (battered ships, cuts, bruises, blood, etc. for realism) -5) Death. People die, it's a fact of life, and especially war. This is definitely not going to be kid-friendly for the sake of realism.
salmon45
Meh. I don't really like that idea.
Four-eyed Vulpine
Well, it's a lot better than them dressed up in brightly-colored spandex and fighting hordes of useless grunts while screaming elongated syllables.
Rapidfire
Of those five Power Rangers elements, the first one is probably the least necessary. Rather than generating a villain of the day, there would be a far less serialised feel if there were story arcs with expanded confrontations between a few antagonists that are ultimately defeated. Truthfully, there are only so many ideas a group of writers could generate before they're recycling their concepts. And I like brightly-coloured spandex! ...er, you didn't hear that. ;)
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Sorry Rapidfire, we didn't hear it, we read it. I kinda had the same idea with a pair of minor villains constantly being pitted against Star Fox. They keep screwing up, Andross is a bit pi@#ed off about it, but he's confident that he will be able to kill Star Fox himself.
Mr. Krystal
I don't want a minor villain every episode. I never liked that story format. I mean, it's good to have a short story from time to time, but even when shows would do the "different conflict every episode" format, our favorite episodes usually had "Part 1" and "Part 2" at the end. Stories spanning multiple episodes tend to be more epic. Perhaps, for a Star Fox show, they could be battling their way to Venom from Corneria in a similar manner to Star Fox 64, and each episode consist of half of one mission on one planet. Then, they could simply reroute the planetary paths so that the team went through just about every planet, resulting in a total of about: 15 planets/areas * 2 episodes per planet/area + 1 intro/load-up episode + 1 episode extending the Star Wolf encounters + 1 episode devoted to the 'final' showdown with Andross + 1 or 2 'take a break' episodes where they handle some small, and potentially humorous conflict in a single episode. ----------------------------- 34 episodes, enough for 2 seasons
Four-eyed Vulpine
Here's a big question. Would Wolf have a mid-season change of heart??
Mr. Krystal
Here's a big question. Would Wolf have a mid-season change of heart?? Abso-freakin'-lutely not! The only way I could see that happening is to trick Fox and crew.
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
I pretty much know what a good format of the shows lifespan would be. Their would be 13 episodes based on Star Fox and Star Fox 64, 13 episodes based on Star Fox Adventures, 13 based on Assault, likewise for Command, and maybe 13 episodes leading to Andross dying for good, something tragically heartbreaking like Wolf sacrificing himself for something good, to make up for all the horrible things he did, and Fox and Krystal getting married at the end. PuffNStuff
The story could go on... and on... and on.... lol I have seen a couple GREAT fics about the kids of Fox and Krystal. One in particular that could span couple seasons itself.
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
A story staring Fox and Krystal's kids? That sounds more like it would turn into a sequel to the first show.
Guest Chiro-Chan
It'd be impossible to do a set of episodes on Star Fox and then Star Fox 64. The first game and 64 have no actual connection, mostly since it's impossible to go from age 28, to age 18.

Guest Chiro-Chan
Star Fox 64 is a remake of Star Fox. Yes, but in the original game, Fox was 28, and in Star Fox 64, he was 18. Therefore, they couldn't be strung together, because you can't age backwards.
