Do you want Star Fox....

Yes, but in the original game, Fox was 28, and in Star Fox 64, he was 18. Therefore, they couldn't be strung together, because you can't age backwards.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the fact that Star Fox and Star Fox 64 are (basically) the same story. He didn't say that there were 13 episodes for each, but...

Their would be 13 episodes based on Star Fox and Star Fox 64

One thing I'd like to see them describe in the story with some level of depth that the StarFox fan base has not seen hitherto is the original StarFox team: James, Peppy, and Pigma. An episode or two on that could probably make a great set-up when contrasted against a present conflict featuring Fox and the team. The only condition is that this sort of flashback not be rehashed again and again in lieu of advancing storyline; I loathe writers who repeat themselves with entire episodes flashing back through the whole series.

For my idea of a Starfox animated series (And Yes, Im still working on that)

I have a new enemy, including old ones.

New characters.

And my own story line.

and more....

@ Dwight: oh... I read that wrong, whoops. xD;;

@ Rapid: Yea, I agree. Flashbacks would be awesome, but really long flashbacks are a no-no. They get boring after a while. =

I would definitely like a Star Fox series as long as they don't butcher it and rip it's internal organs out. >_> As for animation, I personally would prefer a Swat-Kats like style, that is one that really caught my eye (even though I didn't watch the show too often) and I personally think the characters would look better than in an Anime. For episodic format, a good format in my opinion is like so:

Main plot episodes followed by some side stories maybe fleshing out characters a bit (Not too often though) and then some humorous episodes once in a blue moon.

As for the actual plot, the directors should stay somewhat close to the games but not replicate them.

Voice actors? Well there are some rather good ones that have done animated shows before (some from 4kids and Disney come to mind) but no big name actors, because quite frankly I don't think they'd really care.

This is how I would lay out the format of each episode, because you guys might not think it'll happen, but I'll be the one writing a Star Fox animated series.

An introduction to the episode's plot.

The first event of the episode occurs.

Star Fox is doing something funny or casual before taking the mission.

Star Fox is sent to take care of the situation.

They get an update on the mission.

They come to a boss and defeat it.

The mission is accomplished.

ROB makes a wise crack involving something to do with the episode, and Star Fox laughs at it most of the time.

Andross or some other major villain vows revenge for Star Fox foiling him.

End credits.

That sounds good. Don't you think so?

I don't know; the general lay out sounds a bit too cartoony for its own good. While that sort of set up is tried and tested, having that for every episode eventually will become tiresome. Self-contained episodes obviously would work, and humour is a vital part of any series, but modifying the formula is critical to preventing this from sounding like a StarFox incarnation of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog or Inspector Gadget (both of which are great on their own, but not suited in style for this).

Andross: "Next time, StarFox! Next time!"

What I should have said is at the end of each episode we see Andross developing more and more until he becomes one of his final forms from the games, like the giant metal face from Star Fox, or the giant head and hands from Star Fox 64 onward.

I think we could do without the part with them laughing at something at the end of every episode. Sounds too kid friendly, like

Super Mario Bros.

Ok, lets make this animated series a BIT more involved.... The way I see it, these episodes should NOT be independent missions. There should be a whole storyline, intertwining every single episode. When I see a starfox series, I want to have one word pop into my head: Epic!

I'd say something that sort of strings each episode together. And yes, I'm all for the American cartoon style, but writing-wise, I want it to be a bit more serious, such as one episode they're in Sector X, and towards the end, they get to the Spyborg, and it smacks Slippy down to Titania.

As for a cut-off of the series, would it be after Andross's initial defeat on Venom? There's probably a few episodes that could be produced after that final battle that could fill in some of the story or set up future plot points: to name a few, there's the fate of StarWolf with Pigma and Andrew leaving and Panther joining, what inspires Falco to depart, what really happens to Cerinia, whence the Aparoids came, an introduction to and elaboration on Dash's character so he doesn't appear to be a very randomly generated plot device for Command, etc.

One thing I think they would have to do is remove most of the puzzles from Star Fox Adventures to keep Adventures related episodes under 21-22 minutes like the rest of the show. The tone of Star Fox wouldn't be kid friendly, but it could still get a Y7 (C8 in Canada) content rating. They'd just have to make it a little less violent, or keep most character deaths off screen.

Wouldn't that do?

I believe Dragonball Z had a TV Y7 FV rating when it aired on Cartoon Network, and that show was ALL ABOUT violence.  Good gosh.

So, given the level of violence in that Y7-rated show, I'm not horribly worried about placing limits on violence for the sake of the lower rating.

the weirdest part of the DBZ rating is that, that one guy I dont remember his named but Flicked Goku off and I'm like WTF? How does this show get a Y7 rating and stuff like that happens, oh and they didnt censor it like most shows do, it weirds me out, it probably happend cause they didnt really notice it or something like that.

The ratings usually get screwed up for imported shows. They often try to make shows that were not really for kids into kiddie shows when they come over here to the states. Shows such as Dragonball, power rangers, and Naruto get kid friendly ratings here even though they have some violence and other things.

  • 2 weeks later...

Any of you wondering what the show's soundtrack would be like? Probably something like that in Transformers, or Inspector Gadget.

What do you think?

Speaking of wanting a Star Fox cartoon, have you ever wondered what we would be like right now if Star Fox was a long running line of Sturday morning cartoons instead?

I would have to kill someone. If starfox turned out to be like sonic, then i think i would have to leave the fandom in shame.... If there was EVER imo to be a good starfox show, it would have to have a storyline that is epic. That every episode follows, a good amount of violence w/ blood. Make it like Bleach, but different animation style. (cg, drawn, w/e) And make krystal a fem fatale. (idk but u know what i am talking about) She is not a your basic d.i.d. She can fight and kick ass just so long as they don't make her look slutty. (easy to do in a loin cloth xD)

Basically, make it epic.

Like a Saturday morning cartoon? That would almost assuredly ensure its cancellation after a series or two. But in terms of epicness, I don't think it's mandatory that every episode advertise blood/violence. Oftentimes, examining psychological stress, when done properly, provides excellent material for a high-quality storyline. A certain degree of violence is good and necessary, obviously, but for the most part, that loses its effect with time.

Forget that!!

Why don't we get back to the soundtrack for the show. Maybe something like the music out of Transformers. It had a great mix of techno and orchestra, didn't it?

I was just saying that a Star Fox tv series would have a mixture of techno and orchestra for it's soundtrack.
