DZComposer Posted December 26, 2007 Share Posted December 26, 2007 First, make sure the image you are using is not too large and conforms to the image policy (see rules and announcements forum). Mine is about the average acceptable size. Second, make sure the file isn't several dozen megabytes in terms of filesize. That slows down the loading of threads. Third, get the absolute URL of the image, IE http://www.corneriasound.com/sigs/slottrap.gif . Enclose the URL in the {IMG} tags in this format: {img}http://image.url{/img} (replace {} with []). IE {img}http://www.corneriasound.com/sigs/slottrap.gif{/img}. You get: You post images in posts the same way. This is explained in more detail in the Bulletin Board Code table in the posting section of the help. To get there, click "Help" at the top of the forums. EDIT: Or are you talking about the avatar? The Avatar is the picture under your postcount. Mine is that synthesizer keyboard you see to the left. To change that, go into your profile. Hit "Forum Profile Information" under "Modify Profile" on the menu to the left. Make sure it is no bigger than 150X200. If it is, the server will reject it. Also, make sure it conforms to the image policy or I or another staff member will remove it. You can either put in the absolute URL to the image there by selecting "I have my own pic" and entering it or you can save it to your HDD and then upload it to the SFO server using the browse button and selecting "I will upload my own picture" ( I recommend this second method). Click "Change Profile" to save. The text under your name is the Custom Title. That field is above the signature. The text underneath the avatar is called Personal Text and is (conveniently) under the avatar settings. All this is in the help, by the way. Step 1: Get/Create image that you want to use as your avatar. Step 2: Resize/Crop image to the less than or equal to the size of the avatar limit requirements (see Rules). Step 3: Click Profile. Step 4: Click "Forum Profile Information" under "Modify Profile". Step 5: Select the "I will upload my own picture:" option, and click the button. Step 6: Select the image you have modified and saved in Step 2. Step 7: Click the "Change profile" button at the bottom of the page. Step 8: Eat cake. In case you don't know, I know Sideways does, but that's Wheeljack from G1 Transformers. I don't know why, but I think he's a cool character.
