You could start out as young Krystal growing up on Cerinia, and then she could discover her destiny etc. Although I'm much more keen on the idea of having it star Slippy Toad and having the center focus be on his romance with Amanda. The Sonic series is arguably doing as bad as Star Fox these days, yet the upcoming Sonic RPG for the DS looks to be really really good. I say it could be done, and done well. But, it ultimately hurt the franchise, and fractured the fanbase in a way that it has yet to recover from (and probably never will). Also, how could you do a Star Fox MMO? You couldn't. I don't want to see 600 Foxes or 300 Krystals running around. If you let people create their own characters, it waters down the story and the game is no longer a SF game, but a 'Lyalt War' game. It could be done, and the final product could be a good game, but it would not help the franchise. Star Fox needs to take a serious visit back to it's roots. The range of canonical events is vastly greater, and also there are a lot more ways to do it. The Jedi Order was not limited in membership, at least to the extent SF is. Sith have the rule of 2, but there are holes in the canon that could allow for the existence of others. As much as they would have to make up for a SF MMO, they may as well create a new franchise. Spetsnaz.Invidika Posted January 17, 2008 Share Posted January 17, 2008 I agree with DZ... StarFox is at the core simple arcade-style game, and I like the simplicity of it -- no in-depth stories, no deep character development, very simple gameplay. MMOifying it or RPGifying it I think would just slaughter that simplicity, which is a lot of what I love about the game. The closest to an RPG StarFox could be (in my opinion) and maintain that simplicity would be some slight elements, like customizing your Arwings loadouts between missions, getting new equipment, maybe calling in reinforcements sometimes -- stuff that would just slightly tweak how you approach levels. Multipath levels would be kinda cool too. But anything beyond that would just start getting unnecessarily complicated... If they did make a star fox MMO it could be an off-series thing I mean they Command wasnt really canon. And star wars is still going on, at least a little, they still keep making stuff for it and theres a MMO based on it. So it could work, you never know.....
