I thought there was evidence that Nintendo didn't give a -damn- about the plot? xP

"I have been saying this for some time, but customers are not interested in grand games with higher-quality graphics and sound and epic stories. Only people who do not know the videogame business would advocate the release of next-generation machines when people are not interested in cutting-edge technologies."- Hiroshi Yamauchi, longtime CEO of Nintendo

I only wish that quote was a hoax.  :x

I was reffering to the butchering and inconsistancy of the storyline in every Star Fox game in existence, but okay.

For me, the biggest inconsistancy is leon going from cool to weird between SF64 and Assault. I loved it when he was all "I am the great Leon!"

Now I'm beginning to wish Hiroshi Yamauchi was fired for saying that......Well, maybe not. It's not true anyway. Most people are still looking for good storylines in games.

Sorry for the double post, but if any of you are planning on doing a Star Fox animated movie (I would), whatever you do, keep it away from Uwe Boll! He's done enough unsuccessful video game movies already! Plus, he sounds like a god da@# idiot, trying to get himself killed!!

I can come up with 3 more directors who shouldn't do a Star Fox animated movie:

-Michael Bay: Most of you guys hate him, and his only good movie is Transformers.

-Don Bluth: I hear Titan A.E. was good, but he's made too many children's movies.

-George Lucas: Already butchered Star Wars.

The best directors I can think of now are Andrew Adamson, and Vicky Jenson, who worked on the first two Shrek films, both of which were huge hits.

Titan AE was a fabulous peice of cinema, and it doesn't matter what he has done in terms of target audiance. I wouldn't mind if anyone from Titan was involved. That includes the sound bloke.

-Michael Bay: Most of you guys hate him, and his only good movie is Transformers.

You are kidding, right?

Shrek films were terrible. Using the same logtic you you used to judge the other directors on your list. The shrek people would just get a load of no name celebrities in and write a 'humourus' plot who idea of wit is "look! The fat man farted. Everybody 'lol' as the kids say.".

For any film of a licance to be good. I think someone who acctually loves what they are doing should get the job. Perfect example was george remero doing the resident evil film then being told "it isnt what were looking for". You can read the scrit online, and it would have been a fairly good film I think. He even played through the game specialy.

The recent TMNT film did the same. Games like Advent Rising and Sin Episode 1 prove what wesomeness appears when people have a pasion for what they are doing. Unfortunatly, pasion doesn't seem to lease the greedy, so it rarly happens.

Don Bluth...yeah, he's done children's movies but they're the most goddamned dark children's movies I've ever seen (other than Watership Down...) O___o;;

Srsly. Secret of NIMH? Blood, death, mild swearing. All Dogs Go to Heaven? Gambling, hell, drunkeness, oh and not the mention the main character DIES. Titan A.E. wasn't fully done by Bluth, either, but even then, that movie was probably as dark as any Star Fox movie we'll get (exploding planets, death, partial nudity, blood, laser guns, spaceship battles).

...and the Star Fox cast would look AWESOME in Bluth's style, but anyways...

Well, I can't think of any other directors, but newer generations will bring new actors and directors.

Another director I'm thinking of is Pixar's John Lasseter, but he's working for Disney, and I DON'T WANT DISNEY INVOLVED!!

EDIT:

Forgot to mention it, but, this is my 600th post!!

Well, maybe Disney wouldn't ruin Star Fox. After all, they're taking a new direction with Pirates of the Caribbean.

Yeah, maybe I was a bit harsh about what I said about Don Bluth. It's just that none of his films are completely CGI.

It more likely to be an anime if they make one, since it came from japan in the first place. and id like to see it as one.

Ummmm...

BOTH!  duh, but if i had to choose, i would choose series because it would make so much suspense.

You know, maybe even if a Star Fox movie was an anime flick, people wouldn't even care who starred in the film. I was thinking it would be a bit more effective to use mostly famous voice artists like Casey Kasem. Another thing that would really help the movie is a good enough storyline. One that would appeal to American and Japanese audiences. That's how Pokemon: The First Movie was able to make a good enough profit, although I still don't know what it's budget was.

Sorry for the double post, but if Star Fox gets a movie or television series, what plot changes do you think would have to be made to keep the story fresh?

Andross returns in some very silly plot twist. Fox and Krystal don't tie the knot, foxs reflects on his dead dad.

Dude, John Lasseter is the only reason Disney doesn't suck anymore. Not that I can see Disney EVER doing a Star Fox movie.

As for none of Bluth's movies being fully CGI...so?

Well, Titan A.E. had a little bit of CGI, but we'll get back to Star Fox movie directors later.

These are some plot changes I would make:

-Fox and Krystal watch the sunset together at the end. *bricked* Okay!! Okay!! It wouldn't be too romantic!!

-Krystal thinks she comes from a destroyed planet called Cerinia. A nightmare shows her that there never was a Cerinia, Krystal was originally born on Fortuna, her parents abandoned her to Sauria, which was safer at the time, but her parents were killed afterwards by Andross's troops (This was around the same time as James' fighting against Andross).

-James McCloud was an air marshal of the Cornerian Air Force. He was killed in battle.

-Slippy's voice is much deeper.

-Peppy is Fox's step father and flight instructor from the academy.

-Falco is an ex-convict working off community service.

-The Great Fox used to be an old cargo ship. Refitted with weapons after Star Fox is formed.

-Fox and Krystal originate as class mates at the Cornerian Air Academy. Krystal and Fara are rivals over Fox (This would be a fun way to get fans of a Star Fox anime to debate with us over Krystal and Fara).

-Star Wolf gets their own mother ship called the Menacing Wolf, and a Star Wolf version of the Landmaster called the Demolisher, which is dangerously more powerful.

-Wolf commands most of Andross's troops, and often asks for Andross for extra supplies. Andross most of the time refuses, saying something like "Until you take care of Fox McCloud and his squadron, I won't give you even one micro chip!!". This would be similar to the relationship between Krang and Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

-Andross is a bit more comical, usually taking a bath or playing with children's toys before Star Wolf contacts him. Example:

-Wolf is more like Shredder from TMNT; Very mean tempered, but has some slight comical moments concerning Andross.

Well, those are my ideas, anyone care to add or remove?

Maybe but more like on the end credits at the end of each episode

Well, maybe not at the end credits in each episode. Actually, yeah, that would be okay, because Fox and Krystal's relationship would serve as a sub plot.

I think Slippy should be like Bumblebee from Transformers, or Donetello from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Do you think it would screw up the show if Peppy had a Bill Cosby sort of personality? You know, like Bill's character on the Cosby Show, or when he did the live action segments on Fat Albert. Hey hey hey!!

Cowboy bebop..... No music though, but the strudture is about the same. Action action action and yes... more action with good character development

Yeah, Vicious somehow reminds me of Wolf. He kills without hesitation.

Well, other than having a much deeper voice to make him less annoying, what else would we have to do to Slippy?

I always wondered what would happen if a Star Fox anime would be aimed at children. Well, it probably would be rated Y7, regardless of how many characters are killed. Sure Star Fox has it's fare share of character deaths, but they're anthro-animals, which kids go for.

If that was the case, next thing you know, Robot Chicken does a sketch about the show with Fox about to kill Wolf, and Falco says "Do it Fox!! Think of all the innocent people he killed!! Off screen of course.".

The reason I keep saying "Star Fox children's anime" is because I'm worried anthropomorphic foxes, birds, rabbits, frogs, etc wouldn't appeal to teenagers. It probably would. Most of us around here are teens or adults, and we follow Star Fox so much, it's almost as if anthro animals aren't just kid stuff anymore. I mean, look at Chewbacca. He's an antrho animal, and he lives in a dark, violent science fiction universe, but there's another problem. Star Wars is more for kids because it's violence is cartoony and pretend, like the lightsaber fights, or when Boba Fett is eaten by Scarlaack.

Well, Star Fox would at least have mild profanity, and in Fox and Krystal's case, a few tender moments, so....PG-13?

i think it will be a BIG HIT if it cost as money as SPIDERMAN or IRONMAN or TERMINATOR something else tell me that a long serie is better.i wonder...the guys who will draw the serie,if it will be an anime, how many time they would like to draw the story. But for the movie i imagine the commercial. :P :(

Yeah, that's also a very big important part of what would be a Star Fox movie. A budget to support everything they'd need.

I think I can come up with what the intro to the Star Fox cartoon would be like:

1. The Great Fox flies into view, camera zooms in showing each member of Star Fox one by one, in the order of Fox, Falco, Peppy (Later Krystal after she's introduced), and Slippy, followed by Andross laughing in a shadow background with lightening.

2. Enemy ships attack Corneria City, with the Cornerian army being overpowered.

3. Star Fox boards their Arwings, launch, and attack. Each of them unleash dozens of lasers, and take down less than 2 dozen enemy fighters.

4. Krystal is chased by a RedEye on Sauria. Fox comes in and chases it off with a Nova Bomb. He catches Krystal in his arms as she falls, and looks nervous as she smiles at him.

5. Fox and Wolf engage in a one on one dogfight. Wolf is defeated. Andross, watching the battle, bangs his fist on his monitor.

6. The Arwings and Great Fox go into hyperspace, and the title iris opens in a bright light. Close.

I know it wouldn't be for children in the eyes of parents, but seeing as how certain children's fantasy or sci-fi cartoons have their content ratings screwed up in certain countries, I think Star Fox the cartoon would be rated Y7/C8, regardless of off screen deaths, or Andross's brain form.

This idea is probably stupid, but do you think a Star Fox cartoon would have Public Service Announcements? It would be stuff like Krystal talking to some young boys about sexism in after school activities, Falco telling kids not to steal, Slippy saying to wear a life jacket, or Fox telling some kids about bicycle safety. Anyone for or against Star Fox cartoon PSAs?

No PSA's. Thats what Chuck Norris Karate Commandos was for (I can't believe I'm even making that reference). Besides videogames plus PSA's equal disaster, just ask Sonic.

Okay, no PSAs. Besides, Star Fox is too dark for that. What do you mean by just ask Sonic? Did Sonic screw up with that sort of thing?

What art style do you think should be used in a Star Fox TV series or movie?
