Aleks55
Well if the do make a new starfox game lets hope that they dont mess it up, and make people hate the series
T-Boo
I think a new Star Fox should have a polished gameplay and a more interesting storyline than : "OMG, Andross has declared war, let's kick his ass !" or "OMFG, The aparoids are everywhere, let's kill them all !". Okay, i'm exagerating a little bit, but still. But what Star Fox really need is some action, let me explain : Star Fox Team fights against all the aparoids, but really, only Fox ( well, the player ) is doing something, the other members only talk and kill one or two guys every 15 minutes, plus, they are always : "get the guy behind me fox !", "shoot, i can't loose him !" which is pretty boring because your allies can't manage to get behind them... Peppy : "Do a loop !", "use the breaks !" does it only apply for Fox ? Plus, Falco is supposed to be an Ace Pilot but he doesn't know how to fly xD What is the worse is all-ranged mode... Well, not the mode, but what your allies do : Fly aroundShoot randomly Actually, even the ennemies are to blame -> Star Wolf Battle : -On paper : Epic battle in space with your rivalsLots of shooting between the two teamsChasingand so on... -In game : "Shoot ! He's right behind !""Help me Fox !""What are you waiting for fox ?"Slooooooooooooooooooooooooow space shipsFox has to take care of the star wolf team aloneStar wolf team does not know how to fight...... So please, Nintendo, make a new star fox, but a good one...
Aleks55
Well if they made the allies more capable of shooting and killing, almsot every guy would be killed, and you wouldnt be able to score any points, and at least they could kill something we have a 67.28% chnace that IF they make a new starfox game, they will mess it up, I mean it went downhill from after 64, I mean I loved each one, but each had a flaw. Adventures,: too much like zelda Assault: On-foot mission lame and not really good Command: The cliffhanger due to multiple endings. The assault one has different flaws for different people, but I just didnt really like them on how they had to make me try to save them while they fly around like crazy, making them shoot at them with a tank. It was just frustrating...even touhg I was able to do it :)
Drasiana
I think Adventures and Assault were only "bad" by fluke; apparently both glitched to all hell during production and got screwed up beyond salvage. So the plotholes and missing things (Assault was supposed to have co-op 1P) were due to that, and the games would have been so much better had they remained healthy through production -.-
Aleks55
if they put co-op in just 1 if there ganes they have a chance to save the series
Sabre
I really liked assault, esp the MP. The thing I think that killed it was the flip flop frame rates, Recycled maps and to many on foot levels.
T-Boo
Assault was good, but it seemed unfinished.
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Yeah, co-op in story mode would be great for the series. Maybe even 4-player co-op in story mode. A good story for the next game would probably be Wolf taking control of Andross's army, and acting as the main villain for the game.
T-Boo
What if they make a completly different Star Fox, like Adventures, something that really doesn't look like what we are used to, it would be risky but surely interseting
Drasiana
So, what you're saying is that we need a game with a plot, length, good characterization, and creative gameplay, right? xD
T-Boo
in a sense, yes xD
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Maybe the series needs.........*Vincent Price type laughter* Ghosts!! More ghosts!! If the next one is more of what we've seen before in Star Fox, then the game afterwards would have a lot of ghosts in it. It would be kinda like Luigi's Mansion, but not for kids. The story could be something like Krystal sensing the cries of souls across the galaxy, both good and evil. Then the Cornerian Army send Star Fox to investigate. They fly to different planets, and they fight ghosts. Eventually they fight Andross's ghost like last time, then they beat it. .....Nah! That might not work. Assault was good, but it seemed unfinished. Actually, it was. It got delayed a whole bunch of times, and fan outcry got to be such that it was released too early even though it still hadn't been totally perfected. So most of the potential that it was destroyed because it essentially was an unfinished project.
Drasiana
That also had something to do with the cancellation of the arcade project, right? They probably lost hope in the game because that WAS half the game -.- As for the ghost thing...so it'd be like, The 'F'-Files? xD *nerd*
Sabre
I once read a fanfic where starfox fought zombies. It was quite good, but then it went all wobly when the zombies started to use space ships, and the story was unfinished. I think a starfox horror game could work. Esp is Krystal was the only one who could see them. Imagine a level where you play as fox, having to follow krystals phychic comunications to try and avoid enemies you cant see. That'd be awesome. ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Well, maybe the final boss for the next game would be a giant planet destroyer like Unicron or Galactus? It would probably be the same thing that destroyed Cerinia. Or, Gorgon, that thing from Star Fox 64 in Area 6. Like I read on an earlier thread, it could have been a prototype for Gorgon. My guess is that the prototype was 10 times bigger than the final product, and he tested it on Cerinia, not caring what it was, and Krystal doesn't know yet that it was Andross. Still, it would be an interesting concept for a Star Fox game if a few levels dealt with ghosts, and only Krystal could see them. Yeah, maybe the ghosts would be the enemy army, and it would retain the gameplay of Star Fox 64, or Star Fox Assault.
Drasiana
No planet destroyers. Death Star knockoffs FTL. I fully approve of using Krystal's powers to ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING, though.
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
A planet destroyer in Star Fox wouldn't have to knock off the Death Star. It could get it's inspiration from something that does the same thing as the Death Star, but it's completely different. I mean, look at the Drej mother ship in Titan A.E. The thing's only half the size of Earth, and it destroys the planet in only a few seconds. Way before there was even the Death Star, Fantastic 4 had Galactus, and Galactus was probably twice as big as a Death Star. Anyway, there have been tons of planet killers in movies, television shows, and video games. So why not one for Star Fox? Yes, I agree, Krystal needs to use her powers for things besides finding the enemy's weakness, or picking up distress calls. Another reason I think Andross had some kind of planet killer and used it on Cerinia is, well, because someone on deviantART did a fan comic that lead to Krystal learning about Andross's army destroying Cerinia, so he could get to the Krazoa power in it's core. Oh, and Star Fox should definitely have a few missions where you get to disarm a bomb before it blows and takes you with it. That would be sweet! Or maybe a mission where you have to escape on foot from a tall building as it's coming down.
Drasiana
But see, that's the problem; EVERYONE'S done a planet destroyer. I also did read the comic you're speaking of, and it was a good comic, but I personally don't believe Andross did that, and it would be kind of an eyeroller if he actually did. Command tried pulling him out of the bland "destroyer" archetype and fully succeeded; I'd like to have a main villain that didn't go around blowing up planets for the sake of...well, blowing up planets. Krystal's picking up "distress signals" in Assault made no sense. Seriously. Does she have a radio transmitter in her head? In Adventures, she had a ship; that's where she picked up the signal. So why didn't the Great Fox pick up this one? And how can dinosaurs send out distress signals?! ARGH.
Aleks55
yea thats true, and how could she even get off of her planet if it was destroyed, was the planet primitive or was the way Krystal dressed part of her role i adventures, cause she couldve looked that way on her home planet, and if it was primative, then how in the heck could she have escaped, I mean if she had a ship why was she riding that cloudrunner?
T-Boo
The way Krystal is dressed doesn't really mean anything, she could have dress like because of sauria's climate, even tough it's raining when we see her... But maybe she didn't expect that.
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Well, I once discussed with a friend some kind of strange theory that Krystal was raised as a native of Sauria by one of the tribes (We never thought of which one), and that's why she knew how to speak Saurian. As for the ship at the end of Adventures, seeing as how Fox liberated the Sharpclaw from Scales, and they learned she was friends with Fox, they gave her the ship. Oh, and the whole distress signal thing? Krystal's telepathic!! She sensed the thoughts and feelings of the Earthwalker soldiers, and she considered that a distress call. Anyway, Andross wouldn't destroy planets for the sake of blowing up planets, but because he wants to either enslave the population, or he wants them under his control, and when they resist he destroys their world. Drasiana
I mean if she had a ship why was she riding that cloudrunner? If she DIDN'T have a ship, HOW was she riding that CloudRunner?! D:
Aleks55
say krystal was raised on dinosar planet, but how would she even get there, and how would she know about her planet being destroyed
ARWINGCOMMANDER 3987
Well, she could have heard a confession from her foster family about what happened, or she spent most of her time in foster care, while looking for answers about her past, like her birth, or her original family. Anyway so let's get back to what we want to see in the next Star Fox, gameplay wise. I'm still curious about what a Star Fox first person shooter would look like. It would still have an okay amount of Arwing missions, right? Gunslinging and space dogfights. That's how Cowboy Bebop worked out.
