If krystal was from a "primitive" race wouldn't she go crazy at seeing of a space ship ?

In assault we can guess that she is used to...

but in the end of adventures, how come she can pilot a ship and go land in the great fox ?

and how did she get on Sauria then ?

My point is I don't think Krystal's outfit means anything but I think that I already said it.

Okay, so they still had a big emphasis on their tribal culture, but they must have had a little bit of technology. That could be why Krystal knew how to fly that ship.

Back to why Krystal said "It-it's you!" to the unknown figure how kidnapped her at Krazoa Palace. There's still a big chance that that was Andross, and that Andross destroyed Cerinia. She probably doesn't know if it was him or not, and maybe saw him in a nightmare. Either that, or she scares easily. If there was a Star Fox anime, and they wanted to make Krystal's background more clear, it would sound like this:

Andross: HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!

Krystal: Who are you?!!

Andross: You don't even remember my voice? I thought you would at least, since I destroyed your home planet!

Krystal: That voice. I hear it constantly in my nightmares. It's you!!

Well, have you even seen Krystal in her native clothing? She looks like a Swahili princess. Well, one who's very stylishly dressed at least. Let's not forget her tattoos. Another tribal feature. Not meaning to go by stereotypes, but most of the time whenever a female character comes from a tribe somewhere, she's absolutely beautiful. Exotic even. Sorry, that's just stuff I like about Krystal.

Anyway, if any of you can come up with other theories of how Cerinia was destroyed, then let me know. I could add it to the poll, but too much options might bog it down.

I think you're all stereotyping her but anyway...

And I have absolutely no precise idea on how cerenia was destroyed, we don't even know if it is destroyed. And there are so much possibilities that could have lead to the destruction.

That's what I think.

It could be something considered even worse than death. Cerinia probably wasn't destroyed. It's cities and landscapes were probably horribly ravaged as it was sucked.......into a dark dimension!! Having your home planet trapped in a dark dimension without you can really suck. The way I see this particular dark dimension is everything looks like hell. Blood red skies all the time, disease, horrifying creatures always out to eat you, lava here and there burning you up if you're not careful, and absolutely no weather changes. It's the worst thing besides destruction that could have happened. Sounds scary, doesn't it?

:friends: Please do not use large amounts of huge text like that. It skews the proportions and is hard to read. ~DZ :krystal:

If Krystal is still looking for answers, then that wouldn't be the answer she'd want. Well, her family could be okay if that's what happened to Cerinia.

I think she was insane from the start...... She lied to fox, but she didn't know it. She really thinks she is from a fictional planet.

Well, again Puff, despite your insanity, you raised a point. Maybe Krystal's home planet wasn't called Cerinia, there was no Cerinia at all, and she's from a planet in the Lylat System. But which one? Probably Fortuna because it's tropical enough. The sort of scenario with Krystal finding out there was no Cerinia would sound like this:

Fox: Oh my god!! Oh my god!! Oh my god!!

Krystal: What's wrong Fox?!

Fox: Krystal!! You've been lied to the whole time, and you've been lying to us the whole time, and you didn't know it!! There never was a Cerinia!!

Krystal: *gasp* But....if Cerinia never existed, then who am I? Who are my family? Where did I come from?

Fox: I just found out. You were born on Fortuna. There was a decade long incident on Fortuna where it was controlled by a military dictator named Lucas O'Donnell, Wolf's father. He came into power around the same year you were born, overthrowing the monarchy, so your parents sent you to Sauria because it was safer.

Krystal: Yes, I remember now. I was raised by the Cloudrunners as one of their own. It's because of them I grew to love flying. When I was 12 years old, I asked Kyte, my step brother where I originally came from. He said he didn't know, but the basket I was abandoned in had a note saying my name, and the name Cerinia on it.

Fox: And that's why you wanted to find out the truth, but everywhere you looked you couldn't get any answers. It's also why Wolf hates Corneria so much. They killed Lucas when they overthrew him. Strangely enough, afterwards, no one has seen your parents since then.

Krystal: I was a princess.....At least now I know who my parents were, and where I'm from. (Hugs Fox) Thank you Fox. You showed me the truth.

Well, that makes enough sense doesn't it? It could be why Krystal never found anything out about Cerinia. Thanks for your input on this Puff.

Ok.

I read through this entire thread and I think now I can weigh in on the conversation.

Firstly, why do people assume that because she is dressed in primitive clothing Cerinia is therefore primitive?

My theory is when she landed on Sauria, either her clothes were damaged and needed new ones or she wanted to blend in with the native Saurians.

Either way, she dresses in the style of the Saurians.

I think the only clothing that is native to Cerinia is her necklace and tiara thing.

I always picture Cerinia as a Greco-Roman style planet where technology and magical abilities go hand in hand.

(Example: Using charged crystals to power homes instead of gasoline or nuclear power)

As for the princess idea, I'm not sure.

I think Krystal was just a common citizen in Cerinia rather than a princess.

But since the planet was destroyed/rendered uninhabitable, she, team star fox, and ourselves will probably never know.

Unless of course Nintendo decides to make a second survivor of Cernina, something which is unlikely.

Now back to the topic at hand: What happened to Cerinia?

I have a few theories.

1) Some experiment caused the core of the planet to become unstable thus first causing earthquakes and ending with the planet exploding. Krystal escaped as the early seismic effects were being felt.

2) An experiment sent a planet-wide dust cloud which blotted out the sun (think Matrix) slowly killing off everyone.

Krystal was born during the time of the cloud and escaped as more and more people died.

3) Giant asteroid Sounds cliche, right? But even on planet Earth we are watching to see if any massive asteroids will hit.

Why not on Cerinia? It would wipe out most of the population, cause earthquakes, tsunamis, and other changes, and it would send a dust cloud which would kill off and remaining living thing thus not destroying the planet but killing off all life.

As for how Krystal escaped the death of her planet.

I'd like to think it was like the original Superman movie. Krystal's parents knew the planet would be destroyed/rendered uninhabitable. They put Krystal into a spaceship and send her away from the planet thus saving her. She lands on Sauria and begins a new life.

Unlike Superman, she does not have to be a baby when this happens. In fact, given her ability to fly that ship at the end of Adventures, I would say she was a teenager when she was sent away.

The idea of there never being a Cerinia is very interesting.

A little brainwashing and a few lies and someone could believe anything.

Well AC, I agree, but disagree. Ya see, Krystal would have been born on Corneria. She was born with a gift, a gift that the government wanted. They tried to control her, but she resisted. She killed hundreds on scientists....

She escaped to Sauria where she lived ever since, honing her telepathic abilites. While she was there, the nightmares of killing all those people haunted her so much that she aquired a Psychogenic Fuege. She forgot her true past and her Cerinian past, though fictional, replaced it. She really believes in her heart that she is from Cerinia, and that it was destroyed.

The only person who knows about the file about this telepathic vixen experiment of doom is Pepper. But thanks to her changin her fur color, she was never recognized. And the idea of her being from a foreign planet was widely accepted. That is until Fox stumbled upon the file during a mission..... Bummm bummm bummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

I don't buy the so-called retcon of Andross being a guy that was shafted for political reasons concerning Venom. Besides, Krystal had a reason to lie, knowing that saying that would upset Fox.

It's likely that SFC may even end up not being canon, as no one route is the canon.

I believe that Andross' actions leading up to, during, and after the war had a long-lasting effect on Lylat and possible the surrounding systems. Even though SFC may not be canon, it was even hinted that Andross created the Anglars.

Also, why did Krystal recognize Andross before being captured in SFAd if there was no history?

well, lets think she could have seen him behind the krazoa head, I mean if hes on the other side of it, and the head facing the other way of the temple, people are gonna see him

sorry for double post, but lets face facts, almost all of us have a fan-fic, and for puff, probably an evil story with people getting their heads choped off, no offense Im just saying that sounds a little like you, but anyway, lets see 1 thing that is always the same with most is Krystal being a princess in Cerinia, so we can mostly agree with that, or at least someone important on her planet

You don't buy it, but the game says it, and nobody is at liberty yet to say what is and isn't canon =P Yet, you also say that Andross created the Anglars, which wasn't said in game (it only said they were mutants, spawned from the sickened seas which Andross was trying to cleanse; hence "the device", found in a good third of the plot? Peppy, ALSO, backs up Krystal's story).

I think Krystal recognized Andross for one of two reasons;

1. If you talk to a good number of the EarthWalkers, they mention a "terrible evil"; she probably recognized him as that.

2. Another typical SFAd plothole.

I don't think they put much thought in it, really, because wasn't Andross added in at the last minute as the final boss, when he was originally intended just to be a bonus? *dunno*

People assume Krystal is primitive likely based on the fact that in the original Dinosaur Planet...she was. As for her being a princess, I highly doubt it; people seem to be mixing her character with the original Kyte, who was a princess (FEMALE, everyone).

Arwing Commander, no offense but your idea sounds like a bad fanfiction -.- The only thing it was missing was Krystal's sisters, Diamond and Ruby >________>

Too late. I had that kinda idea going when I came up with the theory.

Anyway, if Krystal was lied to about her past, and her memories were replaced with her thoughts of this so-called Cerinia, there are 3 different reasons:

Tragic past: Krystal started out living as a native on Fortuna. Her family was killed in the Lylat Wars, and she didn't want to live with such pain all her life, so she had a psychogenic fuege to replace her memories of them getting killed, with that of her being born on another world outside the Lylat System.

Afterwards, she believed in her heart that she was from a place called Cerinia, and began a new life trying to learn about the made up planet she thought was her homeworld.

Protection: Like I said earlier, and a little emphasis from Puff, she was Cornerian born, but during the war against Andross and Venom, her parents abandoned her on Sauria as a kit, because Sauria was safer at the time. They even left a note on her basket saying she was from a "destroyed" planet called Cerinia. On Sauria, she was raised as a member of a Cloudrunner tribe.

That's how she knew of the Saurian culture, and learned different things from the planet, like telepathy, and using her staff, which was given to her by the Cloudrunners.

She was an experiment: She was originally created by Andross as a bio-weapon. Andross was hoping that her telepathy make her a killing machine, driving Cornerian pilots into lethal bouts of insanity. Krystal was outraged that not only was she created artificially rather than naturally, but also that such an awful man would use her as a weapon of death.

She escaped in a Venomian air craft, and Andross decided that she was to rebellious against him to let her live, so he sent a squadron after her to shoot her down. They shot Krystal down above Sauria. When she crash-landed, she had a psychogenic fuege wipe her memories of Andross, and began a new life on Sauria. Unfortunately, her terrifying memories of Andross came back during the Sauria incident.

well, if she lived in Fortuna, then...its impossible cause how would she posibly know about her home planet

Well, like I said, she was probably abandoned as a baby, and like Puff said, she probably had a tragic past, and used a psychogenic fuege to erase her mind, replacing her memories with other stuff, like Cerinia.

It didn't specifically say Andross created the Anglars, but it came close to saying that in the pre-battle "cutscene" for Venom on the Fox & Krystal route:

EMPEROR: Zazan?

ZAZAN: Yes, Your Excellency?

EMPEROR: ...They are coming.

ZAZAN: Do not concern yourself, Excellency!

ZAZAN: They cannot possibly make it this far.

ZAZAN: Unless, of course, they manage to find The Device.

EMPEROR: I feel both anger and fear. It is unusual.

EMPEROR: It has been so long since I felt these things... Fascinating.

EMPEROR: Prehaps our Creator's oldest enemy has come home at last.

EMPEROR: Don't get careless, Zazan! Everything depends on this.

ZAZAN: Yes, Your Excellency!

FOX: We're entering the Venom Sea now. Don't get careless on me!

FOX: Watch your ships for any sign of corrosion.

FOX: You see anything, I want you to head for the surface right away!

FALCO: I'm on it!

SLIPPY: Yessir!

KRYSTAL: And what should I do?

FOX: You've done your part. You can stay here or go back to Panther.

FOX: I don't care.

KRYSTAL: ...Tell me you didn't just say that.

SLIPPY: Fox! That was an awful thing to say!

FALCO: Slippy? That's not your concern. Worry about the guys trying to kill you.

KRYSTAL: I'm in. I don't care what you said. I'm going to join the attack run.

FOX: Fine.

ROB: I am picking up multiple contacts. They are Anglar fighters.

FOX: Team Star Fox, attack!

Emphasis mine.

It is very very odd to describe either clean water or The Device as "our Creator's oldest enemy." I think he was referring to Star Fox as the "creator's oldest enemy," which in turn would make Andross the Creator.

I'm fairly certain that Andross wasn't -trying- to create them, hence why his device was what later destroyed them. It was sort of an unforseen "whoopsie" on his part. He wasn't like, mutating fish being all "goood....goood..."

wow, this site is more protected then I tought, byt anyway, Im pretty sure nintendo made it so that she is from Cerinia, but how in the world did she get off of it, if it was primitive, and if it wasnt, why was she wearing those clothes in adventures instead of something else
