I know they said Krystal is the last surviving Cerinian, and it's most likely that the planet was blown apart, but do you ever stop to think that there are other survivors besides Krystal? Like her mother or her father?

I think it was a planet killer and on that note I think it was Andross. The only reason I think it was him is because just before he's about to trap Krystal in Star Fox Adventures she screams "It's You!" as if they met sometime before. The only other two things I can think of that would be responsible for the destruction of Cerinia would be either the Aparoids or the Anglers. Since the Anglers weren't even a threat until Star Fox Command they're out. And since the Star Fox Assault is the first time that Krystal had seen an Aparoid they're out too. So that only leave Andross as the only threat that could have potentially destroyed a planet in the Lylat System at the time that Cerinia was destroyed.

But how could Andross have destroyed Cerinia after the war if he was killed. Now I know you're going to say that he was still alive because of his return in Star Fox Adventures, however if you've ever read the 2002 Manga "Farewell Beloved Falco" you will find out that Andross was actually cloned, the clone may not have been completely destroyed, and the Andross we see in SFA may actually be the clone.

Anyway I think that Andross destroyed Cerinia as a message to the rest of the Lylat System during the Venomian War, or even before the war.

There's still the idea that the whole world was frozen still in ice. After all, being frozen is almost the same as getting killed, and that's a good idea of what happened to the people and planet. Andross probably kept them like that so he could revive them after Fox defeated him, make himself Cerinia's dictator, and start an Ancient Egyptian style dynasty; a bad one with slavery and monuments being built in his name. Like I said, he'd force them to got to war too.
