Panther - hate or not?

Hmm... as far as I know, Krystal fans are split, the Fox or Katt shippers hate him whereas the smaller Panther shippers love him (of course).

I like him, he's great. Unfortunatly, he kind of replaces Leons educated arrogance. I also don't like all that silly rose flower stuff. Best ship weapon in command.

He's too flirty for his own good. While I am impressed by his innate sense of honor, I am constantly embarrassed for him with all the cliché complements he gives Krystal.

panther needs to focus more on being a better pilot rather then focusing on krystal

other than that he is impressive.

I don't really like Panther. There isn't very many likable things about him. I wonder why people think he's "teh bset carakter eva!" all the time.

Same reason I love 64 Leon, hes a well spoken B*stard. So self obsorbed that he's only 3 inches away from refering to himself in the third person.

I like Panther, he has good potential. He just shouldn't speak in third person or hook up with Krystal (that being that it just kind of destroys his comedic effect)

I don't really like his personnality, the rose thing and all, the third person, the krystal worshipping...

Every Leon is EXACTLY the same as the 64 Leon, just a different voice. I cant believe no one listens to me when I tell them.

I disagree.

64 - Well spoken, cocky villain who appeared to enjoy the suffering of his enemies.

Assault - Not well spoken, crazy, but still cocky villain who appeared to loose some of his ability as a pilot. Also appeared to have more of a fetish towards pain than simple enjoyment of the destruction of his enemy.

Command - A duality occurred that made him both passionate about torture and envious of honor and respect.

Brawl - Flat out masochist. Also more crazy.

He certainly isn't the same, but he does appear to have consistently progressed towards what he is today.

I'm glad you see it that way.

Back to Panther. I hate it how almost everyone loves him, for simply no rational reason. Their incentive for liking such a generic character is so unintelligent. It's as if once a person see's a character (in any franchise mind you) that lacks an emotion such as shock, they automatically love that character. Perjury may occur when such a character is liked (or said to be liked) which means they may like a different character, but insists that they like the popular character so that they may fit in or not be frowned upon by other individuals. That is something I don't happen to like.

Panther, ah what can I say? I don't necessarily hate him. He's okay. (As long as he doesn't talk in third person)

That is a good example of an over-liked character. Seriously, why cant people like other characters, such as the mighty Tails?.

Because he's an mutant two-tailed freak.

J/K I love you Tails (in a totally non-gay way)

( As far as I remember Shadow is a Bio weapon, so calling Tails a mutant isn't really apropriated xD )

I kind of don't know what to think of Panther.  I mean, with Assault, he just appeared on Star Wolf's side for no described reason or backstory.  Sure, he has some character with the Spanish accent and the longing for Krystal's love, but he still seems to me as a filler character in the absence of Andrew and Pigma from the team (even after three game appearances).  I'll be more inclined to think something of him once he gains a significant role and a story as to how he came to exist in the series.

I think he's alright. Just the whole lovey-dovey stuff gets on my nerves at times.

He's a charming character but a bit over the top, I love how he banters with Falco in Brawl though :leon:
