Sol-Ratcht Saporro
*click* *click* *click* EHN! Incorrect. "Quite frankly, I'm ashamed" LMAO, if you know what I'm talking about. Then you must have played Professor Layton and the Curious Village. Anyone here played the actual game or the demo? Isn't it fun!? I love it. Even though, a good sum of the puzzles made me break my brain over and over again.
Sabre
That's on my list of games to never play unless I happen to have the money and deire to lose friends and irritate people. I will now explain. I'm a action guy. Whether its kids games, or adult FPSs, it's what I do. Much like food, there are games I really don't like. These include point and click games, puzzle games, stealth games and JRPGs. There are others, but those are the main ones. As a result it has to be something pretty special to warrant my interest. The White Chamber is a good example. When a game has uber hype. SSBB or GTA4 for example, I am sceptical, having been stung many times before. I also am an ex-anime fan. As a result, I am lulled by what is popular, esp if that reason is "It's japanese style". So, with Okami and Layton, they got reviews of "It's ok, but buy it because its got japanese graphics." means it's basicly selling based on being japanese. Add in the fact I don't really like that type of game, I'm not going to shell out for it. Now the closing point. I don't like FF7, despite playing most of the way through it. This revolation has literally lost me friends. I have bought games to play with other people, only to have them get board before we got the game on as the innital hype has died down, and the game is no longer 'hip'. So please tell me, is it really THAT good? ...btw, it sounds aggresive, but you know. Just wondering. :leon:
Sol-Ratcht Saporro
^ Don't worry, I understand. Its more or less a cult series. I'm a fighting-type gal myself. I wouldn't say that I was interested because of traditional Japanese style look. I think the reasons that many of my friends and I play this game because it was a mix between Phoenix Wright and Brain Age. (We REALLY like Brain Age and I love the Ace Attorney series) And the puzzles are quite progressive as you move along the story. It also has an interesting story behind it. Also, they give you added replay value by extra puzzles via WiFi. Maybe it's the utter nerd in me that likes to be puzzled and solve puzzles. I'm willing to bet as well that a lot of people who tried it got frustrated (Basically, The puzzles PWND their a$$zorz) and gave it an okay because it was from Japan. I will admit, I am going to try Okami because its from Japan. >.>; If you like Brain Age/Big Brain Academy with Phoenix Wright-esq style progression. Give it a shot! Sabre
I got that No More Heroes. That is really bad. Fighting is great, but it's such a small part of the game. Characters are irritating also. Never played Brain age and the like, because I don't like puzzle games. ; J I've got enough to burn my brain over anyway. There is a PC game you might like called Fillet (or something like that) that is a puzzle game where you play as 2 fish who have to reach the end of the levels by pushing blocks around. I didn't like it much. You might though.
DoctorAllosaurus
I've been meaning to pick up the Prof. for awhile now but I usually end up buying something else that I've been wanting but wasn't in stock. I swear I'm definitely going to get it on my next ride to Wal Mart.
Sol-Ratcht Saporro
@ Sabre, I thought NMH was good. Well, that's what people on GH said anyways. Or maybe is was just the soundtrack. Oh well, guess, I'll save my breath when I'm trying to rent it. As for that Fillet, I'll think I'll give that a whirl. I need to play something else besides Tetris and Bejeweled. @ lordbowser, YES! GET IT! GET IT ASAP! Its Fuuuuuuuunnnnn! And the awesome thing is they are comming out with a sequel. Japan already has a launch date. So that means..... MOAR BRAIN-BREAKING PUZZLES! ALRIGHT! DoctorAllosaurus
I'm picking it up on saturday. Besides I've been wanting a new point and click adventure ever since I completed Maniac Mansion in every way possible.
