Lylatian origins.

Have you ever asked yourself the question, "Where did Lylat come from?"

From Nintendo, of course.

Ok, really.  Did Lylat just appear?  Is it just another system of an expanding anthropomorphic race?  Is it a branch off from Earth?

Let's talk about it.

In the beginning, Dog created the Lylat and Corneria.

Now Corneria was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of Dog was hovering over the waters.

And Dog said, "Let there be fanboys," and they were.

Dog saw that the fanboys were annoying and scrapped the whole thing.

Something like that.

Probley saw earth and said "That's a good idea. Need more hair though." and thus I was created, then Lylat. :leon:

Although I prefer the science idea. Coincidence of comic parking led to germs that grew and evolved into anthros. Followed by beings far far away to question who eats mean and how pets work, with no real evidence.

I say that a LONG time ago, the humans set to colonize other worlds far from our own.  Also, the humans at that time were masters at genetic engineering, creating anything they wanted, and samples of these created populations were also sent into space.  Once the destinations were reached, the other systems, including Lylat, became inhabited.

Why don't we remember it?  Well, let's say a global cataclysmic event (say a big flood or something) wiped most all of the human race on Earth out, and they had to restart.

hehehehehehehehehehehahahahahahahahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I think Lylat was created by..........SFX chip graphics, then the big bang (which I don't believe happened in the Solar System) happened, causing the Lylat system to turn into 64 bit graphics, then time made it evolve into many other increasingly big bits, and the butcher's wife lived happily ever after, the end.

hum, Falco calling Fox Einstein doesn't mean there was Albert Einstein in the lylat system, i guess it's an expression, so "say your prayers" is more of an expression to say "i'm going to kick your ass andross, any last word ?"

alco calling Fox Einstein doesn't mean there was Albert Einstein in the lylat system

Or it's a translation from Lylat language, in which case it would have been the great scientist 'blublublu' or whatever.

Anything they say in-game is our translation of it.  There probably isn't an Albert Einstein in Lylat.

Speaking of which, I had a thread on Lylatian languages here somewhere...I wonder where it went...

It indicates that there might be some kind of religion, but again, what they say is just our interpretation of what they really mean.

Edit:  Wow, Sabre beat me to it by five seconds.  xD

The trick is to have your watch 10 mins behind, that way you always have a 10 minute head start. ; )

Dr. Blublublu?  Is that King Dedede's long lost cousin? :leon:

I have a question: How can Solar, a dwarf star, that is only 5000 or 8000 degrees keep the entire Lylat System (except for Fichina, which is a planet close to it >.<) warm?

The planets must be REALLY close and revolve REALLY slowly.

I don't think we can properly ascertain how the Lylat System is heated without first knowing where the system's sun is located.

It's pretty simple. For starters, stars are always warmer on the inside than the outside. As you all know I'm sure, the surface of the Sun is only 5,778 degrees. The Sun's core is much hotter, at 15.7 * 106 degrees. The temperature on the surface of a star as little to do with how much energy it outputs to nearby planets. It is largely based on the planet's atmosphere and distance from the star.

Also, Slippy said that the temperature that the Arwing could take was "up to 9000 degrees". Thus, the surface must have been a little cooler than that. The solution to this weirdness, and why the numbers above in our Sun seem so strange is because Slippy, nor I, said what temperature scale we were using. Slippy never said 9000 degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius. If you measure degrees in Kelvins (which they usually do when measuring stars), you'll find that Solar is probably hotter than our own Sun.

Solar is probably hotter than our own Sun.

Than wouldn't all the planets get destroyed? (burned, melted, you know what I mean.)

It would be logical to take Solar as the sun of the Lylat System, given the name and central location. Oddly enough, Nintendo never seemed to classify Solar as a star: http://web.archive.org/web/20011006143332/starfox64.com/solar.html
