Five5
Dude, we don't even know her past. Personally I think Krystal is a character whose past should stay unexplained. It adds an air of mystery to her. like a said before, i prefer her with no last name, it's a good point any game with a mysterious character

Samantha Weltzin
Dude, we don't even know her past. Personally I think Krystal is a character whose past should stay unexplained. It adds an air of mystery to her. It also leaves her as a flat character with no development. I think the fact that she has no explained past is probably the main reason she was so bipolar in Command. I mean, if we don't know what happened to her, then we have no basis to judge if they're portraying her character accurately or not. If she acted consistently, then perhaps an unexplained past would be fine, but she's erratic and doesn't even seem like the same character from game to game. At the very least, they should explain why -that- is. Trauma, perhaps, but then why'd they just out-and-out call her "kindhearted" at the beginning of Adventures if the plan was for her to become a raging ----- in Command? For all we know, Krystal could be a pretty-pretty princess in the next game, or Conan the Barbarian. She's just not consistent enough for us to say what her character really is. What you're saying -can- apply, as is the case with Wolf, who is relatively consistent and gives just enough hints about the way he thinks to actually create that air of mystery, but I think in Krystal's case, it's lazy character development that's harming her character. Also, to stay on-topic: Her last name should be Hare. She and Lucy should totally turn out to be half-sisters. Peppy, you sly fox...er...rabbit, you. I mean, it said he views Krystal as a daughter, right? ^_^

Krystal was MEANT to be mysterious, just like some other characters are in other series.

Guest Julius Quasar
What's the best sounding surname, in general...it's gotta be something nice, attractive, elegant, exotic....(maybe?) Hmmmm.... That "Buranetto" last name doesn't fit her...makes it sound like she's from Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, NYC... "...'ey! Shaddup down thayah!"

That "Buranetto" last name doesn't fit her...makes it sound like she's from Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, NYC... I still think that she don't need a last name, bacause her last name must atract people. Like you said. If they reveals a weird last name, this will be a problem. Solution: Krystal with no last name. Krystal and just Krystal (And, this is a cool name)
Samantha Weltzin
No just no her last name should be Buranetto as it's the closest thing to a cannon last name we have. Now now. You should know not to take that kind of stuff seriously. I was the one who said her last name should be "Toad," remember? Just trying to remain topical in a humorous way, especially after my serious post. Actually I just think you guys are looking for an excuse, to look into something that's a waste of time. Krystal was MEANT to be mysterious, just like some other characters are in other series. There's a difference between mysterious and poorly developed. By that logic, we could say that Zako is a fine character the way he is because his lack of development makes him mysterious. Don't know who that is? That's exactly my point: Just because there aren't details about a character doesn't mean that there's automatically an air of mystery surrounding that character. Yes, Krystal is more developed than Zako (a mid-boss in Command, by the way), but she is still sorely lacking in any real backstory or anything that hints that she has a history other than the "sole survivor" cliché. A last name would be a reasonable start on the path to actually making her a fleshed-out character. Even if it was something else, we need at least some trace of character development, so I'm grasping at straws here trying to find something that'd help make her more real and less superficial. Five5
I think this should be a mid-theme for the next Star Fox game (Not the main theme) Reveal something about Krystal and her past. Maybe she has a dark past and something wants to get her or something like that. (And of course , like most of the historys, Fox and his team must save her). Star Fox needs more "Deep Story", or it's going to be only another "game that you only blast everything in your way, and beat the boss" (I like this, but more history gives more sense and reason for why I doing that) (I am not saying that SF games is a bad game, no, I am saying this is the Bad thing about this game, but it's still a great game in my opinion) SFAssault and Adventures have a Cool history, but needs more Deep history. And Buranetto... Don't sounds good for her

THAT IS THE POINT. You don't reveal anything about her past because she is a mysterious character. And fact is, unless you CREATED Krystal or helped with her development, no name or past that you may give her, can be considered cannon. That's why this discusion is pointless, because nobody here can actually DO ANYTHING about Krystal not having a last name.
