Sabre
Working titles are used for a number of reasons. Usually its to have a name for the project to go by until the official title can be worked out. Eg, Starfox was called lylat wars and starwing in the UK due to copyright issues. Other times it's to stop outside people involved with a project from talking. So if there was a Halo 4 game being made in secret ready for a big reveal, a pizza delivery guy (or whatever) could blow it open by seeing the title on office documents and posting it on a website. So Halo 4 might be made under the name 'Apple Sauce' or something until it's ready for the big reveal. There are other reasons too. It varies from project to project, but those are the main 2 I know of.
