Having fun now and again with SOCOM: Confrontation. For those that don't know, it's a third-person shooter with rather realistic weapon capabilities. If you know guns, you can rock that game because weapons do certain things that aren't listed as stats, like the FN P90 (Called the F90 in SOCOM), has armour piercing rounds (as does the Five-Seven pistol) and a built in red dot (in reality it's just an optical, but there wasn't an optical in SOCOM, so they made it a red dot). Pretty much everything in that game makes sense, such as the sound suppressors reducing damage, range, first shot accuracy, and recoil (which means it shows up as increasing accuracy when you put the suppressor on, but for long range, semi-auto, it is worse). I recently swapped from being allied with Great Britain's SAS, who I was only allied with for the IWS-80 (or, as I prefer, the L85A1) assault rifle, the most accurate assault rifle in the world, currently (and it is in that game, too, capable of being a sniper weapon, with the three foot long suppressor and thermal sight, which both are really bad for long range). Anyway, I went from the British SAS to the Spanish.... I forget the name of their force, for the Ameli light machinegun, which looks very much like the WWII German MG42 machine gun, but operates differently. In game, it has the highest fire rate of all the weapons, and carries a 200 round belt. It's not a spray and pray gun, though, as running and gunning with it will make the recoil so horrid you will not hit anything eventually, and you have to wait for it to recenter. However, you go prone with that thing with the bipod attached, and you are a death machine.

Funny thing is too, there are two sides in SOCOM, Commandos and Mercenaries, only Commandos use your faction weapon, Mercs get a different set of weapons, and none are faction specific, and when I eventually die in that game when using the Ameli (you don't regenerate health, and there is no way to get more, so you will eventually die), 9 times out of 10, someone picks it up due to me roflstomping everyone for a bit with it.... and they have no idea how to use the Ameli, just running at you with the trigger held down, and hitting absolutely nothing. And that gun is loud, so you can hear it 1/2 way across the level.

It's pure online, about 30 dollars or so because of no singleplayer, and it's Commandos vs. Mercenaries. The factions are just a "clan" thing, but I made my own clan (Krystal Fan Club, and yes, the clan tag is KFC), so I could choose my own clan colours (clan colours is what your chest camouflage will be), and my own "faction" so I can get the weapon I want. And I just remake the clan if I decide to change factions.

And it isn't a strategy game, but it requires tactics and teamwork to really dominate. Very rarely does one person win the game for you, or keep the entire enemy team at bay. The game's motto is even, "Alone I am lethal, as a team, I dominate."

Here's the trailer.

And here's the most decent gameplay trailer I could find.

Oh, ok.

Shooters are not exactly my favourite

(I barely have really few like CS:S) but

that one sounds good.

Too bad I have no dollars.  :?

Honestly, who doesn't love this game?

I thought it was pretty hard at the time.

I've been playing CS:S as of recently.

I almost had 100% on Sly 2.  I was just too lazy to get the one bottle I was missing on both of the Contessa's levels. :D

Honestly, who doesn't love this game?

I like the first DKC better than the 2nd and 3rd DKC games, those sucked.
