Tabs + Dynamic IPs

Sabre

Recommended Posts

I use firefox, I usually open threads in multiply tabs for ease of reading and originization. My ISP also uses a Dynamic IP. (ie. My IP usually changes with each connect)

However, Id say 1/5, 1/10 times or something, that the forum with claim I've each duplicated a post, or have posted within 45 seconds. Not a majour problem, but it keeps doing it repeatedly, even though I havn't posted in 45 seconds or I havn't done a duplicated post because I have not made a first post. Going back to the thread, clicking reply, and redoing my responce over and over until it eventually decides to let me through. I have learned to keep a copy of my replies.

I don't regular at many forums, but this is the only one to have these problems. Any idea why?

Dynamic IP shouldn't be causing this problem. Sounds more like a problem with the forum itself. Is it here? The only dynamic IP I've ever experienced was dial-up, but I never had a problem like this. Sorry, I'm not much help.

I've had a problem where the forum would say that I had posted more than once in the past 40 seconds and it wouldn't let me post, when it was the first post I had made since I had logged on. Maybe there is a problem with the forum? I use Firefox if that matters.

Sabre, you do not have hardly any IPs in the system. Only like 5. Your IP stays stable.

SFR, you have a very large number of them.

Either of you on a LAN? Two people on the same LAN logged in at the same time can cause this, as most LAN setups only have one outside IP for internet access.

I think so, I use a desktop computer, and everyone else in my house uses laptops and accesses the internet through a wireless router. They must have been using the internet while I was on.

Even that wouldn't likely cause it, since they wouldn't be visiting the same site... unless... there's a secret Star Fox fan in your household OR there's some sort of monitoring program that's sending multiple connections per page load or something like that.
