A bunch of psychological babble. It didn't really mean anything. Just something intended to sound epic.

I think it meant that even though she tried to bypass evolution by stealing the souls of other people, you have to have a soul to truely evolve.

"She tried to bypass evolution by stealing souls... But you have to be born with one."

LOL, laughable.

Aparoids don't steal souls, only bodies.

The Aparoid Queen would have had a soul as much as anyone else. Why wouldn't she?

How does Fox know any of this!?

Obviously he's saying something that's supposed to sound epic, but falls flat.

Likely something that lost it's true meaning in translation.

Perhaps. Or it was an attempt that failed at making a deep meaningful quote. I wish I could translate Japanese to see the original and interpret it my own way.  :| In any case... it was far from any good of a quote and will fall into antiquity as one of the worst quotes in video game history.

It's not NEARLY as bad as "Andross won't have his way with me!"

One problem with the 'lost in translation' theory is that it would have to be a crap film with bill murrey. Secondly, the idea that it's always the translators making a hash of it rarely stands up. Only if it needs the context of the culture or previous works (akira) then it could be argued we would never get it as intended.

In mario superstar saga 2, the hammer bros had a hilarious western accent couldn't really be done in the west, and going aisian would have led to it being banned by the PC brigade. As a result they made them speak 1337. I have never played the games, but I have read the scene on the internet, and I think it probley is much better then the same in a silly voice.

That said, the samuri pizza cats is famed for its lack of translation, and as a result is mostly ab lib. The cartoon was also cencored, and those are the 2 reasons why I would like to see the western version and a real sub/dub or the jap originals.
