Battleship
PS: I went to the apple store and a long story short, I ended up calling apple communist. AND I was wearing a hat that made me look like Castro. It was busy too.... Now that, is progress against apple. Shoutuing that they are communist in their store at one of their busiest stores. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED (oh yeah, not just completed you noobs accomplished!) ... Huh? Hey, wait... are you turning this into another Mac vs. PC topic? PuffNStuff
i talked about the Wii. Ok, anyways. Mii vs 360 avatars IMO it was only a matter of time before they developed an avatar system. Everything has to have an avatar system. Look at this forum. We have avatars, it is a vary good social thing to develop an identity so that we can be more and talk to people we at least know something about or can relate to their avatar in some way. It was only a matter of time.

End of story. 360 is more fun then Wii. You may be right, but it's only your opinion. And you've completely missed the point of the whole topic. It's not about whether the 360 is more fun than the Wii, it still gives them no real right to plagiarize another's idea.

Owner/Technical Admin Sideways Posted July 28, 2008 Owner/Technical Admin Share Posted July 28, 2008 Everything has their ups and downs. to be honest, I think the Mii's are absolute rubbish. I love my Wii, but on the other hand, the 360 has brought me joy that the Wii hasn't. The Wii has had only like 2 or 3 games I have to have. Super Smash Bros, Twilight Princess come to mind for me. If I could ever afford it, I would also buy Mario Kart Wii. The Wiimote is an awesome controller but it sucks down batteries like no tomorrow. The 360 controller lasts me a good few weeks before it needs a recharge. For some games, the Wiimote and Nunchuck combo works great, but some, not so. Need For Speed Carbon was intense to play on the Wii. I also own it on 360, and I found it a heck of a lot easier to drive, and foremore, drive better. I don't crash that much into the walls. One thing that the Wii has that the 360 doesn't is the Browser! It's a great thing to have. I think that the Wii's channel setup is very innovative and works well for the purpose. I think the 360 should stick with their current avatar system. As to this arguement that Microsoft is copying Nintendo, so can be said for Nintendo, who copied the idea probably from the website Gaia Online. They probably revolutionized the Virtual Avatar as we know it. Sadly, Gaia has gone down the drain dramatically. It's too big of a forum and their moderators don't do their jobs. It's not a fair place and that's why I am no longer a member of the site. I gave up on their population of idiots who will flame you for no apparent reason. You know, sometimes I forget this is a pro-Nintendo forum. Anything that isn't Nintendo is frowned apon, or at least that's the vibe I pick up. Correct me if I am wrong. I don't want to go and hurt anyone's feelings.

I wouldn't call the Mii's a rip off of Gaia. They made it as an advancement in the console experience. And Gaia was pretty much like any other MMO, customizing your character. So, you could call Mii's unoriginal if you want, I guess. But the purpose of the Mii's is original. Which Microsoft stole right there in front of everyone. Man, youre just shooting him down left and right lol... Anyways, who make the Mii's? Nintendo. The 360 avatars? Microsoft. really, where does mac fit into this? Battleship, what you are stating is all opinion too. I prefer the xbox over the wii because i am lazy. I don't like to move to be entertained lol. Besides that, the xbobx has more FPS, and violent games than the wii could ever offer. Yeah there a couple violent games for the wii, but not as epic as say gears of war, or halo. even call of duty would be awesome. But the wii isn't really meant for hardcore shooters, and the Wii is not really meant for gamers like me.

I'm saying as a fact, the Avatars are rip offs of the Mii's. I don't care if Microsoft makes them better, but they copied the idea of the Mii's and made it their own. How fun the consoles are don't matter here either. To tell you the truth, I have more fun with the 360 than the Wii, as of recently anyway. But again, it doesn't matter to me in this conversation. He's got a point, and I'm sorry to say. Even though I started this topic and believe that the 360 avatars are a rip-off of Miis, I can't state for a fact that that's true. No one ever goes into a meting saying, "Let's copy this and that off of this company!" It never has to be admitted that it is a rip off to be a rip off. It only needs to be obvious. And, obvious, it kinda is.

PuffNStuff
funny story....... Truth is, I do not own a game cube, ds, wii. BUT I do own a SNES (never played sf on snes) And a N64. I got starfox64 when it first came out with a rumble pack. I loved it. But I wasnt a "fan" like I am now. What happened was that fate lured down to the local rental store when I came across the game SF:adventures. I looked at the cover and thought "Where the hell did that blue chick come from?" As luck would have it, I had borrowed my friends game cube that he never played. So I rented that game. I played it the whole way thru. Loved it... the sotry, not the game play. Now the day after I beat it, I went and rented SF:Assault. That was the metaphorical hook that well.... hooked me, lol. That and after adventures, I.... well, lets just say that I frequented dwights Kyrstal site lol. Then I started to read fanfiction... and I mean A LOT of fanfiction. If it was on ff.net and it was about SF, I knew about it or already read it. Seriously. Then I started my own fanfic called Cursed with regret (new chapter up BTW) about Kursed and her eventual coup on Lylat. If you have ever played C&C Yuri's revenge..... Well... So yeah, that pretty much sums it up.
