Good thing I aint getting a car or any modern transportation for that matter. I refuse to live in 2005 anyway I will live like I am in 1200 as a blacksmith and armorer. But this doesnt mean I aint going to learn how to drive a car.

The gas price is rising because we're running out of oil. By 2010, the economy will hit it's peak and fall straight down. (I'm not joking)

Here is my take on it.

Eventually the gas prices will become so high that people will stop driving less fuel efficient cars like the SUVs and Pickups.

Foreign cars companies, which have better gas milage on their cars will be taking over domestic companies like GM.

Eventually either GM will go bankrupt or it will create more fuel efficient cars and cars using alternative fuel sources like Methane or Hydrogen.

Eventually the economy will be in turmoil from the rising costs of shipping and the loss by tourism companies since no one will want to go anywhere with rising costs to fuel planes.

The United States will have to either find an alternative to oil or force the oil companies to drop their prices.

Either way there will have to be a change.

If they force the prices down, they will run out at a faster rate. They really need an alternative quick, or they're screwed.

Hydrogen is an expensive idea...but saving gas prices and stoping from as much pollution would be a good thing

Cars running on electricity might also be a good idea. But the car's not the main problem. Once we run out of oil in 2010, 90% of the exporting will be cancelled. The future doesn't look bright. And what my dad once said:

"I don't envy the world you will be living in, because we destroyed it".

You guys know the Brits have, like, 90 pence a litre gas, which translates to six dollars a gallon?

Really, the Americans are such jerks when it comes to gas.

Uh, what are you talking about? I've been there and there's been like $2.00 a gallon at some places smart one, also most Britains get paid more overwages because us Americans are "behind in the world", quoted from Britain and Japan theirselves by the way, so really... you're a hypocrite.

New technology is always expensive. For example, computers were expensive and people thought no one would want them. Give alternatives like hydrogen time and exposure and they will advance enough to be cheap.

Also, remembering some calculations I did with a friend in Britain, most of their gas has been $6+ as of a week or so ago. Its not completely accurate since you have to account for the exchange rate as well as the conversion to metric but its a good idea of the price. It has most likely gone up a bit since then, though not as much as here in the states.

Don't fool your self, we Americans really can be lazy and spoiled; lets try not to pretend we are better then everyone else.

I am not lazy thank you, and I'm not about to give up on myself up to a foreigner, if even that, that's being prejudice. If you believe Americans are lazy, you do that, I on the other hand think other wise.

I said we Americans can be lazy and spoiled, not all of us are. I was just attempting to keep people from going ballistic because someone didnt think an American was right by reminding you all we are all human.

Being ignorant about what people out side of the US think and do is the spoiled I was talking about. I'm proud to be an American also, but being patriotic is more then just saying all Americans are the best. Being patriotic also implies you care about what others think of the country and try to show them its as great as you think it is and show them you are willing to take care of it. One way to do that is to encourage others to do more then complain about other countries and be aware of the groups of people in America that care only about furthering themselves. They are what other countries see on the news, not the quiet, but hard working people that do their duty. If you care about the country you might look in to making it a better place instead of joining the truly spoiled and self-serving.

We have a government that accepts thoughts and ideas for that reason. Local congressmen do exist and should listen to what you have to say. If you dont like the way gas prices are going and have an idea that might help, complaining about British people wont help get your idea to people that can do things with it.

I didn't say that, Avaunt did dude... and I wasn't complaining, HE was complaining about Americans. Though, we Americans are bad even though we have to help everyone out non-stop. Who came and helped us when 9.11 hit? No one, which I hate so much, then we decide to go take Iraq.

Us Americans should mind our own business, and make other people help themselves for once. We've helped the world enough, not saying they don't help.

The whole comment wasnt aimed at you; I just didn't quote Travis.

There we go.

Some of my comments were directed to everyone in general though.

I don't think completely ignoring everyone out side of the US will fix much or be very beneficial, our economy does rely on trade with other countries for a number of things and we cant afford to shut out more sources of income right now with the hurricane victims needing support and the oil shortages. While I dont think we need to fight their wars [or start any if we can help it], we should look at keeping our economy somewhat stable even if we need to use, or aid, other countries.

I just noticed how bigger Canada was to the US too, about a week ago. Canadians are awesome to me though, I have some really close canadians friends but they're not to kind to Americans though, they say I'm alright.
