Mr. Krystal
I have criticism however I will tie my hands behind my back so I dont get myself unfairly banned You can post your criticisms, just make sure they are constructive. "You suck" is not appropriate or helpful. "I think the site would be better if you reduced the forum width by 100 pixels" is very helpful and specific. DZComposer
We don't ban people unless they violate rules. Having a negative opinion about the way something is done is not against the rules. I don't like banning anybody. You can ask the other staff about this. I have on a few occasions resisted many calls to ban people, and I only did after many many chances for the person to change their behavior. I have never taken disciplinary action against anyone who had a different view because of that view. If you have a problem, tell us. If we can fix it, we will. If we can't, we'll explain why. I made this thread so that you can voice your concerns. That said, be constructive, as Mr. Krystal said. Things like "I hate you" get ignored. Braux
I like the forums and site just as is, but it needs a member boost... I'm guessing that won't come around until the next SF game, right? I'm also wondering how much of a boost there is on the forums when the new game comes out, or if it's announced. And, I think that there needs to be, i donno, a change other than the banner? The banner is alright, but how long has the "black Rain" Theme been going on?

I have a possible solution for more members. Give me a couple days. I think we've had that theme since we moved to GoDaddy a couple years ago. Owner/Technical Admin Sideways Posted December 12, 2008 Owner/Technical Admin Share Posted December 12, 2008 I like this forum alot. It used to be good back in the day, but slowly people have started to dwindle away. Most of the members that were around when i was a bit more active just bit the dust. Myself, I'm active in a transformers forum and I'm also a Co-Admin on another forum, and we have thousands of members. We have a fairly large staff and a big ban list as well. I have no reprocussions banning someone who doesn't follow the rules, expecially if they're a repeat offender or they do something that deserves a ban. It's tough, but I'd love to someday focus my efforts away from that site and find a new site to help with. We'll see what happens.
DZComposer
Changing forum themes does not increase membership. This theme is customized a bit to match the site. If we ever change the site colors, the forum will likely change too. A good Star Fox game will help our membership issues some, but we consistently need new content for sustained growth, and with Star Fox that is hard. That is one of the reasons why I haven't done a new SFOCast in a while. There is nothing new to really talk about, and the last one turned into a rant fest. I don't want that. Another thing is that the Star Fox fanbase as a whole has been seriously shrinking since 2001. Currently, there are two major fansites, a few sub-boards of large gaming communities, and a handful of active smaller fansites. Back when I got into Star Fox there were four or five major sites, and a bunch of smaller ones. Forums were rare at that time, and only the major ones had them. These communities did well for a quite a while. Star Fox Adventures started the downfall of the fanbase (do not try to debunk this unless you were there). Many people left, as they saw the potential of series demise with this. Of course SFAd brought in new fans, but these people were different and got into Star Fox because of SFAd, and started wanting more games like it. This further alienated the established community members, by the time SFAs came, most of the veteran members moved on. A couple of the major sites became hostile to new members, and eventually died. One is still around, but is a nest of trolls so it may as well be dead, and the other went down in flames as an admin went nuts.
PuffNStuff
I still think a chat room that is apart of this site would be awesome. I know you guys have tried it before, and when you did, it was actually pretty good. I still dont know why it was taken off.

Mr. Krystal
A general statement about people who had Star Fox Adventures as their first SF game. It's interesting. For the first time, people just joining our forums, are from the generation who didn't start off with an NES, but a Gamecube. Their lack of respect for "classics" isn't necessarily bad, and we should take note of how their history changes their perspective of the series, rather than shun them as non-believers. DZComposer
For the record, I never said I had those feelings. I just stated what I had seen over the years. There were many many irrational decisions made throughout the history of this fandom. Plus, there was always animosity. Especially between those who were in it since the SNES days and didn't like the reboot in SF64, and those that came in during the SF64 period. It's just that hordes of people didn't leave over it. I thought SFAd was a good game (Hell, I even wrote a literary analysis of the game for my English calss), though it doesn't really fit-in genre wise, and I think that is what scared those people off. Braux
Well, getting on track a bit more... I'm sorta a late-night lurker at times and i found out that there are more guests than there are users at the time: Guests: 10 Members: Braux I looked into what they were looking at (via if you click on it.) and most of them are intrested in all parts of the forum, although 70% were looking at "Mega Krystal Fanart" Is there any way to harness the power of the guests?? EDIT: I just saw 30 seconds ago, there was a new regestration, nothing new, but i check out the little things... :P

DZComposer
Please use the edit button instead of making multiple posts. The chat software I am looking at has no support for voice chat. I want to say it has a private message system, but I'll have to double check that. I have no plans on posting that paper at this time. If I do post it, it will be well after grades are released. I don't want it on the internet in case someone at the school somehow finds it and accuses me of cheating, even though I posted it. Plus, I don't want anyone else plagiarizing it for their own papers.

Geo Stelar
I like this site. User-friendly, many friendly users, responsible staff and a nice site layout...the black and blue-theme forum layout is ok for the eyes, because it's not bright, you could literally stare at this forum for an hour or so without hurting your eye, even a bit.Keep up the good work!! Steve
I'm going to take action on this, and I'm going to go ahead and clear the drama. Staff, in case you missed this, go check the locked room/deleted threads subforum.EDIT: I humbly apologize if someone didn't like what I did (delete a whole page of comments), specially to those who posted. But I beg you all to understand, we want to avoid drama, the less drama we have, the better it will be. I'll either leave things like this or I will restore the posts, if that's what the staff wants. Redeemer
This thread looks nicer when it's not covered in bullcrap.Members of SFO, this thread will be open again once we sort through some paper work. From then on, if anyone starts to attack the staff so viciously, you will be given a very stern warning and possibly a temp ban until you calm down. As with any work place, in real life or online, we do not need to take abuse for doing the right thing. Get over the fact that someone you thought was cool did something wrong - no one is perfect.Feel free to criticize us and suggest new way of assessing things, but a verbal attack will not be tolerated. We have taken a lot of crap from people but we will only take so much.Thank you for understanding everyone. :)
