I say ELIMINATE COMMAND and all associated with it, and create new missions, new villain, more Star Wolf Duels, no more Andrew, no more Pigma (or not, but I dunno how it could be possible to bring him back, since he became an "Aparoid Satellite/Giant Pizza Box"), add Fara Phoenix, Fay Spaniel, and Miyu Lynx, have Peppy either as intel/adviser on Great Fox, or retired, working as a CDF General now, under General Pepper...and add a forth member to Star Wolf...

Also, More Landmaster missions, more on foot missions, more Blue Marine Missions, and make the play similar to SF-64 and Assault, combine the best of those two games, allow for saving of progress, obviously (that's what SF64 needed most).  Also, all Katt Monroe and Bill Grey to help out in some missions....you should also be able to pilot the Great Fox and fire its cannons sometimes. ^^

And I might add:  Have the characters fend for themselves rather than coming out of nowhere like, "AAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!  FOX, BOGIES TO THE REAR!!!!!"

:peppy:  "Do a barrel roll!"

:fox:  "No..!"

Yeah...also, why shouldn't the wingmates help YOU for a change....like in Assault, I save them when they got bogies on their tail, but when I'm in trouble, OH NOOO, I'm on my own (Level 8)...they sure as hell don't help you fight Star Wolf on Level 3 :x

Yeah I know.  OOOO, have you ever followed Falco or Krystal RIGHT before the get chased?  They fly around, then fly away from the fight, MAGICALLY disappear and then reappear with enemies behind them.  I got bored on day and decided to follow one of them during the Sargasso mission and the Star Wolf fight.

When I first saw Falco do it, I dropped my controller and just stared at the screen until Krystal's screechy screaming voice snapped me back to this earth.  (I was wearing earphones trying to listen to what the sound FX sounded like.  She screamed, I threw off my earphones, grabbed the controller, and finished Star Wolf off, and neither Krystal NOR Falco had to retreat.  ((I forgot that they were still being chased ^^;;  )))

Yeah, and no more back-handed compliments when you save your wingmates (except for Falco, although I don't want ALL his compliments to be back-handed when I save him)

Krystal saying "You're pretty good in a pinch!" when you save her, I thought What the hell!?  :x

For my part, I'm neutral on the matter of the story. It really doesn't add that much to the overall formula. If it's good, it's good. If it's not, it's a jumping off point for shallow criticism, but a game has to be playable overall.

I can't for the life of me remember what I've already spoken about in this topic, but I'm just going to go over a few issues that became prevalent in Assault and Command that irked me:

1. Someone needs to step up the level design. Command would put a new skin on a level and call it different. The most unique planetary level was Titania, since it sported those rising towers and tornadoes. The design in Assault was rather mediocre. Yes, each setting was unique and relevant to the mission, but the execution was lacking. The levels felt unpolished. Perhaps this was a consequence of so few on-rails missions, but there was a certain something lacking in the way the levels were laid out irrespective of this.

2. As has been said, friendly AI should be programmed to be less...stupid. They could contrive to do something more than be flying targets. Again, co-op mode would be a good addition, but if they're not going to do anything actively, saving them should at least give you some kind of tangible reward.

3. Unlockable missions would be a nice touch. I'm put in mind especially of Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal. Replay value would be improved significantly with such missions. And while we're at it, missions should be short. The last two levels of Assault were unnecessarily long and didn't have that much in them to justify their size. The first two games understood this principle perfectly: short enough to provide a legitimate challenge, but not so long that the player starts tiring of the level.

4. Controls need to be tight and simple. Assault did this exceptionally poorly. They felt in no way natural nor simplistic when matched against 64. The collision detection was also a total embarrassment in Assault. I honestly don't know what happened there, but something truly fell apart.

Though there are other things I could criticise, they're not nearly as game breaking as what I listed. Once these matters are remedied, I'd look into other details for adjustment.

Also, welcome back, Four-eyed Vulpine!

Not all of the Command endings ended the storyline...

* 1, 5, and 6 did not end the storyline.

* A few others did not end it, but significantly altered it (the Kursed ending)

* Some (like the G-Zero ending) completely ruined and ended the storyline.

Actually though, I don't mind either way if they ignore Command or not.  But if they do decide to continue the Command storyline, they better plan it well and not have another disaster like Command.

They ignored Star Fox I, and rebooted it with Star Fox 64, they could probably do the same thing with Command.

I heard once, that Star Fox I, II and Command were in a 'separate' Star Fox 'universe' while, 64, Adventures, and Assualt, were all in another...

That would make sense, as the next game's story could easily take place after Assault.

Assault had a very good story, it just wasn't presented very well.

Yes  agreeed assault had a good story they just needed to Draw it our more perhaps a secret message from Cerinia reaches Krystal and the  team are drawn to the ruins of a Cerinina base under attack by aparoids or SOmehting to extend the story how about a cut scene of Krystal and Fox relaxing on the geat fox and Fox pronouncing his love of krystal...

I think that's a really good idea!

The Aparoids were very cool and interesting enemies, there's certainly a lot more story that could go along there.  Just because the queen died, doesn't mean that they're *ALL* gone.

Maybe Krystal can finally find some answers regarding Cerinia.  After all, that's how she was brought into the series, she was looking for answers.  We don't know anything about Cerinia, and I think they could draw a good storyline from that.

There could be some mystery mixed in with all of the action and adventure...

We'll probably never really know since they said Command was the end to the Star Fox series...  But there's got to more behind it than just saying, "Star Fox Command is the end of the series."  Something just doesn't seem right with what they said then...

Don't get me wrong, it's like their planning another Star Fox game that doesn't regard Command in any way.

I coulda sworn they said that they will show which command ending is real so something's telling me that was just saying "That's the end of the Series in this dimension (like the starfox1/64 thing.

I know, but my Para senses are telling me that there's another Star Fox game coming out that doesn't have any enfluence on Command, nor the first or 64.

Also, THE CAKE IS A SPY!!!!

I'm pretty confident they're planning a Star Fox game for the Wii... why would they ignore the opportunity to use the Wii Motion Plus.  I'm sure a lot of people would buy the WMP just to play a Star Fox game.

I think Nintendo said during this year's E3 that their main goal was to present their memorable titles (like the Mario series) in new and innovative ways...

This has probably been what's kept me with Nintendo after all these years... sure, Playstation and Xbox are both more advanced, they pretty much always have been, but those games never had the same feeling as a good Nintendo game.

Mario, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, all the characters in Mario Party... all those memorable games and titles, that's why I've always stayed with Nintendo.

Super Smash Bros, for example, uses almost exclusively characters from Nintendo's titles.  I doubt that the SSB series would be popular if it had completely original characters...

It would seem just plain wrong for Nintendo to ignore one of their most famous titles... Star Fox.  If they don't make another Star Fox game, and they choose to keep releasing mediocre Wii titles, then Nintendo has lost what's kept them great for so many years...

Gamespot made had an interview with one of the producers, or directors, about the franchise and has stated that he's starting the next Star Fox Wii game.  Myamoto has also shown interest in the game with the new Wii Motion Plus, so there's hope for a new Star Fox game.  But, the original creator of Star Fox from Q-Games isn't interesting in helping make the game, so he's out of the picture.  I just wanted to come through the screen and shoop-da-whoop his face... hate that guy... sorry off topic

I agree ,but I also think KRYSTAL SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN BRAwl ,but that is another topic entirely.

Also, I remember looking at their website about the next SSB game and they've shown interest in putting here in the next game.  My hopes are as high as yours for putting her in the game, Kursed.

I highly doubt they're going to add Miyu, Fay, nor Fara.

I never said Fara and Fara was only in the beta for starfox two she never made it into the real game.

If anything, they should go back to multiple paths like Star Fox 64 and have a good soundtrack like Star Fox Assault
