Yorokobi-Ageru
How are they going to introduce a character someone made up during a fanfic and have him relating nowhere near the actual storyline? If it's Nintendo, like this: "We want him. Add a story somewhere if we feel up to teh task. Ok, sell it."If it's someone else, like this: "......sorry everyone, but we couldn't finish the game becasue Nintendo decided to sue if we continued. Oh, and they stole our idea. Technicaly, our game will arive next December."
Guest RedPhoenix32
In either case, Im going to hire a lawyer whenever I do deals with Nintendo. Sure, they came up with the original Star Fox and made Star Fox 64 as the flagship of the 64 gameline. But when it comes to Star Fox: Adventures a.k.a. the marooned Dinosaur Planet, they killed, rickrolled, Weegeed, WHAT THE F- BOOOOOOMd, IMMA FIRIN MAH LAZORd, lol, Internet'd, ORLYd, and picked the bones clean of Rareware.Lawyer + Good contract + mislead Nintendo high official = Star Fox for the taking. GammaRay256
How are they going to introduce a character someone made up during a fanfic and have him relating nowhere near the actual storyline?Well, we would use a fanfic that 1) doesn't introduce any new main characters and 2) doesn't contradict the canon. But I'm certain that Nintendo would never use a fanfic as the basis for one of their games. A fan game might, but not Nintendo.
Guest RedPhoenix32
Then, for the sake of all games united, I will walk across the entire Untied States, ON the Pacific Ocean, and all the way, vertically up the building, break the window to Satrou Iwata's office, and bring the contract to him to get Star Fox back. And I shall do all of that, in 80 days! lol.But seriously. Once I find someone who is influencial that I can talk to, I think I'd be able to force a contract down their throats. But first, WE NEED A GOOD FANFIC. Guest Para Astaroth
How about just lawyer fees? We could convince them.Gotta look at it this way: lawyer fees aren't all they/company has to pay. They've got....... you know what, lets stay on topic. No derailing.
Guest RedPhoenix32
Agreed.Which fanfic should we use? Im kind of closed minded unless each one has a summary. And I am NOT a fast reader. So I would reccomend my own (cause even though I read Yoro's it was already done, lol) for now. Even though over half of it isnt even on the pages yet. Julius's Lylatian Crisis seems good. But I already came up with a sequal to mine.

Guest RedPhoenix32
Well, 1. Mine is cannon. 2. I only have new side characters, and I am bringing in old side characters like Caiman in. 3. ITS STILL NOT DONE!!!!!

Guest RedPhoenix32
Im getting Chapter 4 started as we speak. Chapter 3: COMPLETED. Chapter 2: POSTED. Posting Chapter 3 after the views go up, and comments are brought in, so please be kind and take a look!BACK ON TOPIC!!!!!The storyline needs to follow tradition and be like the others. The system is in danger, and Star Fox needs to save the day. Except with my own twist where everyone gets a peice of the pie, and bad puns like "I got a present for ya!" or "You're good, but Im bettah!" are non existant, cause they are just ANNOYING! Anyone agree? Althought language is to be kept to a bare minimum, we should take advantage of the fact that we're dealing with rated T here. I mean, no little kid's gonna look at it if ESRB rates it T for the explosion factor.
Guest Para Astaroth
(off topic) but parents aren't looking at game ratings nowadays.(on topic) Yeah, I mostly agree, but there has to be some constant chattering than just lame two liner quotes like, "You're good, but I'm bettah." Has to be more than that :/

But I already came up with a sequal to mine.I think the storyline in my fanfic might be too detailed and long to be used in a game...All named characters will be from Star Fox. I'm using Star Fox 2 characters later in the story for more variety. Eventually, it will feature just about every character mentioned in the Star Fox games. There will be plenty of opportunities for dogfights... other parts would be SF:Adventures style. I actually think that it *might* make a good game. But I was originally writing it to be a story, not a game . I think the main strength of mine is that it's mostly dialogue; which would work well in a game-setting.It would be neat if we could have a story and gameplay like Adventures, but still have lots and lots of flying (not just on rails, but all-range-mode too!)Hmm... maybe I'll write a summary of my fanfic sometime... I have six chapters published, and about 24 written; should be enough to write a summary now...

Guest RedPhoenix32
BACK ON TOPIC!Another thing I've noticed is that the main villians name always starts with an A. You know. Andross, Aparoids, Anglar... So thats one thing. But in my case, its a double A! Aparoid Andross! lol BACK ON TOPIC!Also, I think the story should be written by multiple people to a point that it still makes sense, and its still the main writers creation and vision. For instance, I let someone else write Chapter 3 Part I of my fanfic. But I also had to revise it to make sense, and not sound too upstraight and broing. So multiple people should help in the writing process.
Four-eyed Vulpine
So all this speculation is in one place now? Great idea.Since Command officially ended the Starfox storyline, the biggest question now is...Where will the next game fall in the storyline? Or will it not be in it at all? Great idea.Since Command officially ended the Starfox storyline, the biggest question now is...Where will the next game fall in the storyline? Or will it not be in it at all? When I heard that, I got sooooo pissed that I wanted to just go up to the Q-Games director and just slap him in the face.It will probably take place between either assault and adventures, 64 and adventures, or why Fox told Krystal to leave due to fearing for her safety. (Man, Star Fox can't end this way!)
Four-eyed Vulpine
Actually, I don't think it would involve Fox telling Krystal to leave the team, as I think it was part of the multiple paths you could take in Command. Between Adventures and Assault seems much more likely than between 64 and Adventures. The Krystal fanbase would be furious.
Guest Para Astaroth
He did tell her to leave at the VERY beginning of Command, if you remembered.Dude, but there was an EIGHT YEAR gap between the two. There has to be a story in that BIG space
Four-eyed Vulpine
Well, okay. I won't argue. The eight-year gap between 64 and Adventures would be great for a Starfox subseries. Something like how Crystal Chronicles is a subseries of Final Fantasy.
Guest RedPhoenix32
I must protest. The storyline as we know it is faulty in every way. I suggest a reboot from Assault, since that was the last good Star Fox game.See, Nintendo wanted to end Star Fox so they could move on to other things. Truth is, we dont want to move on to other things because Star Fox is a classic. And you NEVER, EVER leave a classic behind!
Guest Para Astaroth
That is VERY true, Phoenix! If someone was brave enough to bribe Nintendo into redoing it from Assault then that would make A LOT of fans, including myself, happier than ending it with these nine non-canonable endings. Seems like Q-Games is hiding something...
Four-eyed Vulpine
The series would work much better if there was no storyline to begin with. I mean, look at Zelda. There's no real timeline or development to speak of other than hundreds of years between iterations, and it works great.Trying to connect different games together can lead to some big problems: namely continuity errors. But with what we have now, is it possible to just start the series from scratch?
Guest Para Astaroth
From the scratch part sounds VERY difficult for the developers, thus having them disagree and staying with how the series ended. Why not make games that thread off from the endings? The Goodbye Fox sounds more canon than it sounds
