Best if it were between 64 and Adventures since there was, what, a seven year gap inbetween the storyline.  The manga for Adventures took place a few hours, maybe a day, before the actual game.

If it were a prequel to 64, that would mean be playing as the old Starfox team, and maybe when Fox enlisted in the Cornerian fleet.  Either way, I don't consider Command canon AT ALL!  Even though the executive producer of Q-Games states it is, I just won't hear of it.

Assault DID show signs of canonency.  Just showing that fleet at the end and Fox's comment just HAD to make you raise and eyebrow.  I was like, "Errr...  wahh??" to his comment when he said that.

A ~seven year gap is a long time, and I wondered why they did that when I found out how long it really was... there's plenty room for some stories in-between.

But, all the Krystal fans would be disappointed if she wasn't in the latest official game!

Assault had an awesome concept and story; gameplay was mediocre, but lots of cool ideas.  A game after Assault would be best, at least for an official game...

Let's not forget, unless Nintendo releases an official game, we've got Shadows of Lylat to fill in the gap between 64 and Adventures!

Shadows isn't canon...

I wasn't saying it was, sorry if I kind of implied that; but unless Nintendo releases another game that interferes with SoL's story, it won't really matter.

shadows of lylat would only be canon if it was made by Nintendo.

Pretty much yeah, but most of these fan games would definetely go canon in my watch ^_^. I  seem to have a big interest on SoL

Actually Farwell Beloved Falco took place four years after 64 and four years before Adventures.

Actually, I just thought about this, it would be kinda cool if they made Starfox Wii into a FBF game.

It's nice to hear that he doesn't want the Star Fox series to die... the fact that, even when the sales decrease, he doesn't want to trash the series, but wants to try and make it better and more fun, is an answer to something we've been wondering: is Star Fox dead? No... not according to the creator of the series!

So 2010 would be 4 years.  Seems about the right amount of time to wait between releases... SF Command was released too soon after Star Fox Assault.

I'm thinking March; the time frame seems about right since they may be a little late for the holiday season this year unless they announce it in the next week or so...

But at least I think we can agree that we at least will get another SF game someday (I think we're pretty sure SF is not dead).

Ok, just to clarify it a little easier; they can't POSSIBLY come out with a Starfox THIS early!  End of THIS year?  Highly doubt that.  They have to make a public announcement of the game FIRST, THEN they will show off the teaser trailer (If any, that is), After that they will show off MORE trailers.  So, don't get your hopes up if it's this year because if it is, don't count on me getting it.

Going back to what Gamma said:

SF Command was released too soon after Star Fox Assault.

If they repeat that, then I, personally, refuse to buy the next.  Mid-2010 to early 2011 sounds more reasonable for some, and I agree; Nintendo's been TOO focused on other 'childish' games to even focus on major titles, such as Starfox.  That set aside, I've given my two cents of the matter and just had to get that out.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'd rather wait a bit longer if it means a good quality Star Fox game, even though I don't mind the last three SF releases, they were definitely too rushed so the games didn't quite live up to their potential.

None of those are canon either.  Nintendo has to make the game in order for the game to be canon, not a mod made by fans.

I believe his point still answers your question. It's not about whether it is SoL or not, it was used as an example because it tends to be the most popular and well known SF adaptation of any of the fan-based games. Probably because of how far in development it is, the level of expertise involved, and the media coverage it has received thus far. It is the most 'likely' of any of them to be picked up by Nintendo, and therefore the most likely to be claimed as 'canon' if that were to happen.

Of course, no one thinks it -will- be, so all of that is merely hypothetical.

I just dislike the fact that you dis out on the others especailly POf I know the creator and he really doesn't like it when you do that

I'm sure he would be. I don't mean anyone any disrespect, and I'm certainly not 'dissing out' on them on purpose- I'm merely stating the facts in the situation. SoL is further in development, has more support (in general, though this is an opinion), and it has more media coverage (also a fact). Therefore, for most intents and purposes, SoL is going to be more popular- not because people like it more or POf less, but because it's more known.

as far as I know Pof has more trailers.

*chuckle* I'm sorry, but I'm afraid 'more trailers' doesn't mean much of anything in regards to game development. Though I must say that I'm not as familiar with it- how long have they been working on it?
