Chrono Reaper
Something that haz been haunting me in my nightmares, is if Nintendo was loopy enough to make another remake of Star Fox 64, which would be considered a remake of a remake of Star Fox on the Super NES. Mr. Foxer
Gameplay that the developers of the next SF should use as examples are the following.On-foot gameplay of Metal ArmsAir combat of Star Wars : Rebel Strike Rogue Squadron 3 and Rogue Leader : Rogue Squadron 2I think that Rogue Squadron 3 and 2 are great examples of what gameplay should be like in the next SFNotice,-Wingman control (Form up, attack fighters, break etc.)-Objectives like defend this or that ship-FREEDOM!!! Asper Sarnoff
Here comes my two cents on what pathway the next SF game should chose to walk down.Air or ground:I think SF would be best served by combining the two. It will compromise the quality in cormparison to a dedicated flyer game, but I think that is a price worth paying. About 70-60/30-40 distrubtion for Air/ground respectively. But unlike Assault, it is important to avoid ground missions becoming repetative. Assault ground missions was basically "Destroy object A before they can spawn B number of opponents to stop you."Gameplay-wise, Mr. Foxer is right on the money with both his examples. Some degree of wingman control would be much appreciated. "Hands of my prey Falco!", "Slippy, to the back where you can't get hurt!" and "Peppy, do a barrel roll!" would be my favorites. Another thing about air missions is that I think the speed of the Arwing should get a drastic increase. It will still not be realistic, but it won't look stupid with the guy on foot down below almost keeping up with you in your high-tech state of the art space fighter. It will make things a lot more hectic, but that is one of the reasons we like SF isn't it?Eye-candy:The design style of, and graphics/animations at least as good as that of Adventures, and I'll be more than satisfied on this aspect. Get Krystal in something less reluctant to get thousand of furverts to cover the floor in drool as well.Story:This is one of the big buggers. Where, and how do we start this chapter of the franchise. While I have spoken out against the people who disregard Command as cannon, which parts of it is untill big N says otherwise, it's tempting to discard it and start immediatly after Assault. The reason why I will get to later on.Main plotpoint I won't really say anything about. But I think it would be a good idea to leave "A threat to the entire galaxy appears!" out of it, and make the SF team more like mercenaries that saviours. For example a shady figure gives them what seems like an easy, but profitable job, and they get way, way more than they bargained for.Move away from war on the interplanetary stage and on to the dark underground of Lylat.A little darker undertone would be welcome, but nothing more "adult" when it comes to language and sex.And now I get to one of the mayor points of this post. What the heck are we going to do with Krystal? With half the fanbase having such an interest for her, the way she is portrayed can make or break the entire game. She can't be taken out or killed of, that would cause riots. But, I don't think she can stay with the team either. If she and Fox ever had something for each other, they would have been married at this time.Anyone saying they would be interested in playing a SF game where this couple flies around defeating baddies, while proclaiming their love for each other, arguing, and being worried sick of each other, simply doesn't know his/hers own good. The only way that would work, is if we fast forwarded many years and took up the game with a new generation of heroes, lead by their son or something. But I'm at least not ready to give up on the current characters yet. That can be something to consider in the future, but not yet. This team still has to much to give. So, they have to split up at the start of the game. But not necesarily in the dramatic, rough way so many seemed to hate about Command. What I think would be the better option is if Krystal herself left by her own free will, to discover what happened in her past. With Fox reluctantly letting her go after they pledge to each other that they will see each other again, how much they love each other and all the other romantic mumbo jumbo. After that, they split ways. Krystal goes to find out what happened to Cerenia, while Starfox goes out on their own mission.Split storylines, running parallel with each other. In one level you find yourself in space blasting the crap out of your enemies in good ol' SF64 style, while in another you controll Krystal on a ground mission on a planet on the other side of the galaxy. As the game progresses, we get to know that they are ultimately working towards the same goal. Whatever is to blame for Cerenias destruction is also the work of the person the Starfox team is chasing. And at the final battle, they might meet and join up with each other to take down the main villain, whoever that might be.At the end, everyone is happy, the team get paid and Krystal is together with Fox again. The fans wanting a game with SF64 style gameplay much romantic subplot get their dose of that, those who want to find out more about Krystal get their fair share as well. If someone can find something bad there, then they are an infantile "Kverulant", a proper nitpicker.Other points:Katt Monroe, Bill Grey and a few new, interesting NPC's will be most welcome. Cameo appearances of some old ones would be some cool easter eggs as well.Starwolf is hired in to kill you properly this time, and boy is they going to give you a run for the money. Give them some proper character developement, and perhaps another member to even the odds. Dangerous and hated, but not mindless klling machines. This isn't final, might end up adding or changing a few points after I think it trough some more. rainfyre66
That's so crazy, it just might work! But really, that's actually pretty well thought out, and if Nintendo wanted to put forth the effort they could make an epic game utilizing your ideas. I fear they'll just go the lazy route, if they take any route at all.

Guest DRL
Exellent Ideas Asper! I would gladly support a SF game like that! I mean, the story seems interesting, intriguing, and most imporant of all: It does fit. Krystal going on her own to find about her past seems a great idea, which will help to fill in the plotholes while not making Fox look like an idiot (as it happened in Command). The gameplay I agree too. I think that high-speed flying missions are a great option, but going on foot based missions is a welcome break. I also like a lot how the how the plot turns out.Personally I think that if Nintendo used your ideas it would make a kicka** SF game.

Kursed
I like the split story line ,but that wouldn't work for co-op play I think if they were to split up it should work like that If not they should have a co-op play with krystal as the second players charater (Like halo3's co-op) I know this will proably never happen but I think Companies should build on each other sucsesses as far as gameplay wise to a point where it works to their advantage and doesn't change the story line... Fira-Astrali
Well, if it were up to me (and anyone who's read my fanfic would know this) I would turn the focus of the next game on Star Wolf, kinda like the Super Mario games that are about Bowser. Then you'd have a reason for the story to be dark and twisting, and Wolf has the chance to rise as something nobler that a backroom brawling punk. I'd like to see Wolf have some meaningful character development
