Well, I really dont think the story should have a darker turn. That is, if you mean anhilating the Fox and Krystal relationship.

I believe, if there were to be a plot twist, it should be the main government being corrupted and becoming a dictatorship. That way, it would bring the team back togather for good. It only seems fair to kill Peppy while you're at it.

It could be a civil war on Corneria. Sauria`s the only planet in Lylat so far to have a civil war, so why not a Cornerian civl war?

Or Krystal is striken with guilt when the army from an exotic planet invades and captures Corneria, Krystal says they`re the Cerinian army, and she was scowering the stars for a planet to claim as "New Cerinia". When she first came to Lylat though she lost focus of her orders and obtained Cornerian citizenship. This would be a great darker turn; Corneria is enslaved, their army is powerless, Star Fox are the only ones willing to rebel at first, and Krystal is forced to fight her father. It later turns out that Andross had manipulated the Cerinian government into taking over Corneria. He didn`t care who he manipulated as long as he got revenge on Corneria. Afterwards the Cerinians rebel against Andross and Fox and Krystal kill him. Corneria makes peace with the Cerinians, who settle down as part of the Saurian population at Krystal`s suggestion.

If they makes StarFox for Wii, do you think they'll stick to a storyline after apariod invasion in Assault? Because SF Command have way too much endings and...don't know which ending they'll begin with. And they could come up with something better and similar to StarFox Assault? Something like on ground mission and in air mission? What ya think?

I hate Nintendo for continuing to make crappy games when they could be working on a new shiny star fox game "Frontiers"  0_o

I dare say that I wouldn't mind Q-Games continuing to develop for the franchise.

There is no doubt that Rare and Namco are quite competent developers in their own right. Rare, however, is out of the picture due to the Microsoft thing, and it seems highly unlikely that Namco would get a second go with such middling critical reception for Assault. And as much as we'd like to see EAD lay hands to the proverbial Lazarus that is StarFox, EAD is always busy doing something ostensibly more important than soiling its hands with such an unclean series.

For a game that was engineered out of something completely different, Command was reasonably fun. I'd say this proves that Q-Games at least has the understanding of what core elements make up a StarFox game. Granted, the story left something to be desired, but there comes a point at which that criticism ceases to retain its value (if one is desperate to enjoy a good story, there is literature to be read). Considering the story of 64 amounted generally to, "Defeat the mad scientist!" in a manner that would cause Sonic to giggle, story clearly does not need to be intrusive to make a game enjoyable.

As long as Ninty pursues its policy of farming out its franchises to second/third party devs, it may as well retain Q-Games for StarFox in the way it does with Intelligent Games for Fire Emblem and Retro for Metroid. As DZ said, bouncing the series from one company to another has made it inconsistent, lame, and a number of other negatively connotative words. I believe there is no lack of competence in terms of design on Q-Games's part that should preclude them from continuing to work on the series.

Well, maybe we should Q-Games another chance, as long as they put in a much better storyline and art style than in Command, bleh!

Well they probably should as some of the people who worked on Command were on the dev team that made the original Star Fox for the SNES. Dylan Cuthbert, the director of Command, was the one who helped pioneer the Super FX chip, and was the software director.

The way I see it, Star Fox Command has a lot of resemblance to the unreleased Star Fox 2. I think what they were trying to do with Command was they were trying to resurrect Star Fox 2 in way, seeing how that amazing creation never saw the light of day, except for that uncompleted ROM floating around the internet.

Yeah, getting back most or all of the Super NES development team would most likely add new life to the series, and maybe even have future music in the style of the Super NES Star Fox. I love the original Corneria theme, even when it's slightly modernized.  :P The Star Fox Wii game should definitely have some of that sort of music!

I especially like the main theme from the SNES Star Fox. My favorite of all of the music. They just need to fix up the Fox and Krystal situation, bring back the SNES music, and make side characters minor main characters. Ones that have an actual role other than a grunt or something. Then theres the acutal gameplay and physiscs itself. ITS ALL WRONG!!! The ships fly too slow, the proportions on ship to ship are very off (you cant even fit the landmaster into the Great Fox in Assault when you look at it close enough). See, the space stations should be the size of planets, the ships should be the size of the space stations, and the buildings need to be flat out bigger. And planets should take up one whole half of the playing area. Then, there should be more damage when you hit a wall. A peice should just fly off right when you're hit by an asteroid or a wall when its set to hard. Then the weapons need to be modified to look more realistic. STANDARD BLASTER SHOULD NOT LOOK LIKE NERF GUNS!!!

Well... you know, you're playing a game series named Star Fox.  I think they checked realism at the door when they decided to make a game with anthropomorphic animals flying high-tech, armed to the teeth starfighters.  Not to mention a giant floating ape head/hands.  So yeeeeeah...

You definitely sound like you would get a kick out of Freespace 2 though, I'd suggest trying that one out sometime.  ;P

My whole opinion on what they should do with the next SF game is pretty much NOT continue from where Command left off, but continue from where Assault ended.  >.>  That's just me though.

Well if you were to remember around some time last year, Takaya Imamura and Dylan Cuthbert announced that no Star Fox games would take place after Command. So the next game will have to be a prequel.

Many of us veterans of the forum might remember that people misread the post and thought that Star Fox itself was ending, and THAT caused an absolute uproar and sheer terror all over the forum.

SHEER TERROR!! :lolhyst: I couldn't help myself.

But true, the next Star Fox game will have to be a prequel, or a sequel that erases all the events from Command.

Nope, hadn't heard that one.  I've been out of the loop on Star Fox stuff for a while now... (mainly because there's nothing recent...)

So yeah... I do kinda hope they make one, it'll be interesting to see what they do with the series for the Wii and if they make good use of the Wiimote/nunchuck or not.  If it looks like it's gonna be good, then maybe it'll get me to get off the computer and turn on the Wii for once... heck, I quit playing Brawl after about 2 days... haven't picked up a Wiimote/GC controller since.  That was... uh, 2 days after Brawl came out.  >.>

Should we have Andross as the final boss in Star Fox Wii? If so, what sort of form should he be? We're getting kinda tired of his head and hands form from Star Fox 64, so maybe he should be something different. Maybe a large Darth Sideous looking verious of himself that attacks with black magic? We haven't seen any full body incarnations of Andross in the series anyway.

I always assumed as a result of being locked away, Andross was reduced to the form we all know.

Here, here on getting rid of Command. It pretty much ruined everything.

As for Andross, I'd rather stick with the head or make him an Aparoid hybrid. Its like, they tried to revive him just before the virus was released. So, he's like part Aparoid and takes the form of this awesome bug thing. That would make things more sinister.

Personally, I think that James/Peppy's theme should be passed down to Fox, since he is basically continuing their legacy. It definantly fits him well, I must say. A bit like the undying hero. Assualt was that start of his realization and maturity into a fully aware leader. Now, we can say he's more mature and focused. It could be seen as his "coming of age." Definantly the hero type, which that is what he is seen as. Anyone else get where I'm going?

I see what you mean, but at the same time, I think Fox needs to go back to what he was in Adventures personality-wise. In Assault, he was WAY too serious, I liked the smart alack Fox the best, but don't overshoot it and make him cheesy and immature. It's a delicate balance.

There is a group of people making a full conversion of the Freespace 2 engine into a Star Fox fan game called Shadows of Lylat. DZ Composer himself is doing the score for the game. It's been in development for quite some time now, so who knows when it will be ready.

You pretty much said the exact opposite of what I was trying to get to. He should act more like Gibbs from NCIS.

I've found that Fox is a little bit like Optimus Prime, minus the transforming into a fire truck of course. Optimus Prime is similar to Fox because he's always willing to risk his own life for his friends, stands up for the rights and freedoms of others, and sticks to his job until everyone else is safe. There are other characters who share those qualities with Fox too, right? Sonic? Megaman? Captain Falcon? How about Kirby?

Anyway, my point is RedPhoenix is right. Fox should show more of those heroic virtues he has that are also parts of other characters I just mentioned. They should also give Krystal her gentle persona back, make Slippy a bit less annoying, and have Falco more of an a@#hole like he was in Star Fox 64.

Exactly. There are some things in Star Fox that just need to be done away with entirely.

Like Panther, maybe get rid of Amanda too since she's quite useless, and since Command needs to be erased completely, give Katt her old fur back.

Wow... Pretty much all of this is falling in line with my fan fic... Cool!

Anyway, I agree that Panther should be tossed out of the series. He always just seemed like a pevert who only wants Krystal for...... um...... Lets not discuss that, shall we?

Amanda, on the other hand.... Who really cares? I mean, she isnt appealing to have in the game yet no one complains either. She should be erased from history.

And with Panther out of the picture, they can bring Oikonny back to Star Wolf, and have a new 4th member. Something like a thuggish Rottweiler, a Doberman Pincer, an incredibly pi@#ed off Boxer, any vicious dog breeds we want!  ;) Or even a silent but deadly wild boar, or better yet a rhinoceros who acts like Samurai Goroh.

To be honest, they should keep Panther but adding new characters like Amanda and Peppy's daughter? Realy, no one would care. ;)

I actually quite like Lucy though. She's the only new character in Command who isn't useless or uninteresting.

If they do add new characters, make them very interesting and not tie into Command in any way.
