@asper, LOLWUT?? chrono reaper?

wut dat?

I tried out as a VA for Chronos Project Kursed fangame, and despite doing good enough to get the role of General Pepper, I did a really rubbish figure. First time I've ever used Skype, or talked live with someone in english, and I sort of got a small blackout. It sounded like a bad Arnold Schwarzenegger prank call I suspect.

This is the ONLY fan game I am looking forward to, some realy nice Starfox action, NOTHING MORE! No emoes no kursed ((as of this moment, if they bring Kursed up I'll flush this game down my shity toilet)) Let's just hope they make a serius Fox game without the emotinal emoness...

No one is paying us. SoL is made completely with volunteer labor. A couple of members on the team work for game studios, but this project is not affiliated with any.

It's a fangame. We've attracted some damn-good 3D artists to the project, which gives us the pro look.

C&D is always a threat, but we're trying our best to make it clear we have nothing to do with Nintendo and that this is homage.

@DZ, yeah that tends to get pretty hard when you get so close to the series.. though i do wanna see the new developers attempt, theyre a pretty good company so i hope that they can give us a great starfox game...

one thing i really want out of starfox is a showing of history... thats the problem with the newer ones.. it seems like everything is just assumed. Cernia is simply mentioned in the manual/strategy guide.. that has potential of being something good! idk if that planet is still around (ie if its inhabitants were wiped out or if they destroyed the whole thing) but i sure have some good ideas for that planet :D

It's been a while since we released anything publicly, so here is something new!

http://shadowsoflylat.net/media.php?m=3

The menu music for the prologue release is complete, and there is an MP3 download on the site.

You old-school fans will like this one.

You'll notice:

Control Select from SFSNES

Map screen from SFSNES

SF64 theme and Space Armada polymelodic with part of the SNES credits music

Basically this piece represents the peace that exists before the story kicks-off. Later releases will use different, darker, menu music.

It starts out with a piano, harp, cello, and bass quartet. Solo Horn and trumpet join to repeat the melody lightly, and the rest of the brass come in more majestically before a diminuendo to solo violin and cello with piano. Brass chords in the background. Horn and glockenspiel state the SF theme, followed by solo violin and glock to the loop point.

I don't often write for solo instruments, but I think these are some of my favorite ones I have done. SIPS makes the legato instruments so much more expressive.

Instruments:

Orchestra: EWQLSO Gold Pro XP

Piano: Garritan Authorized Steinway

Percussion: Virtual Drumline 2.5 and EWQLSO

Sequencer:

Cubase SL3

VSTs:

Kontakt 2 (Solos enhanced with the SIPS legato Kontakt script.)

Garritan ARIA

Reverb:

Lexicon MX200 rackmount effects processor.

Hi,

HOLY! This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard! I love the controls and map select music from SNES StarFox - but this combination makes me just speechless!

So will this game support multiplayer and if it does does it have a clan system in it( I want to create a SF-O clan for this game )

FSO does support multiplay, which SoL will leverage, but the way it is currently done is ad-hoc (client-to-client, no dedicated servers) and done in a hackish (as in hacking the code to allow FSO online, not cheaters) way.

If they ever fix the dedicated server, which currently only works for retail FS2 and not FSO, I will try to get a SFO server set up for it.

Watch this board for the latest on FS2 multiplayer: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?board=135.0

We have to use what the engine provides. If the engine were written for GSA, we'd be stuck with it, provided they allow mods.
